Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

I have my flight out there, too. Despite being rather against redeye flights, I'm doing an overnight. Nonstop (and it had better stay that way), arriving at 6:30. I'm hoping hoping hoping that I can spring myself onto east coast time somehow. Don't have my flight back, but then I haven't decided exactly when I'm returning. :)

The drinks I've tried at Trader Sam's were, in my opinion, WAY better than the LapuLapu.

Good to know!

Passionate Python, FTW!

That was suggested to me! But I was focused on my mai tai.

Weirdly, and this is Disneyland Hotel's T.Sam's, it was WAY better in the souvenir glass than in the tall glass I got on our second visit.

so, I'm thinking of attempting this two ways. One, get to a ten minute mile (which I've done alreadey) and add one more each month until six. Or, two, run/walk all 6.2 to see how long it takes me, and then start working on cutting down the time until race day. Any thoughts...
:eeyore:

Yeah I agree train to the distance first. You can always follow a plan (like Galloway or others) that includes a speed workout once a week. I have definitely suffered the consequences of pushing myself to a speed I could not sustain. Those are the only times I have had running injuries, so I am always weary of pushing speed too hard. Good luck in your training!

I'm trying to remember what I had...I think I ordered the HippopotoMai-Tai (which I know you already mentioned) and liked that. I also had the Dark & Tropical Stormy, which was weird, very different, but good. One of my BFFs had the Polynesian Pearl, which was delicious, and another had the Shrunken Zombie Head (I remember not caring for that one) and, I think, the Krakatoa Punch. I don't remember anything about that one. The 3 of us split an Uh-Oa, which was good. :)

The LapuLapu was too strong for me, from what I remember (they use 151) and I think one cost $14. I personally didn't like it enough to justify what I paid for it. :confused3

We are also hoping to go to Trader Sam's late night on Sunday. Wearing our medals of course. I told my sister we could split a Nautilus and she was like, "whaddya mean, split?!" :drinking1

I'm with you. The only time I could submit now will likely put me in F, which is where I've been assigned the last 2 years, it was fine, but I REALLY want to make it into D or even E. I started in I this year because I dropped back to start with a friend. Not repeating that this year, and really want to start further up. I feel confident I can improve my time to get to E, but D is my real goal. I think I can, I think I can ;)

We can do this!! We will cheer each other on to get up to that next corral :)

In talking with my BF last night, we somehow managed to change our scheduling a bit so we went from 3 desired ADRs to 6! Now let's hoping that come Friday I'm able to secure a reservation at the restaurants we want to try and the times we're hoping. Fingers crossed!

There is a skeevy place nearby that does a foot massage. I've never seen anyone walk in there but they have been open a few years. I'm tempted to go. My feet are killing me after my runs on Monday and today.

I just submitted proof of time for me and my husband... however, my POT race was run under my maiden name, is that going to cause issues for me? I wrote a note in the race results website line that the results are under my maiden name, will that be good enough?

I'd call or email to be safe.

Thanks! Are they able to check on the submissions and make sure they went through okay or is that asking too much?
I have no idea, wouldn't hurt to ask though! :)

I feel like they probably don't thoroughly check them until the deadline though, since people can go in to update/change times at any time up until then.

Woo!

If you go, take a friend for safety. :)

Or buy a tennis ball to roll under your foot.

Join us at Trader Sam's! :)

Just remembered I've always wanted to try the LapuLapu. Hmm, think I'll need a cab home from the Poly on one tremendously awesome evening. :)

You're on!! Trader Sam's and maybe TOTWL? I can get us in there- I'm DVC and staying at BLT. We'll just the monorail as our "Uber" driver ;)

I've not drank at either. Hmmm. Suddenly I'm thinking my WDW visits have been sadly lacking. lol

Passionate Python, FTW!

Beginning to see a trend here!! :rolleyes1

Thanks guys for the hints about runner tracking to help combat any time issues right there at the race. I already run with my phone, so this should not be an issue. Used runner tracking when DH ran the race in 2011- but that was so we could meet up.

I'm thinking we really are going to need that monorail ride after all. :D

I like your sister ;)

I like your sister. She can come sit next to me!
Not if I sit next to her first ;)
Besides, aren't you on grill duty for us before we go on this bar crawl??? lol

Thanks and good to know! I've done 5k running races plenty, and 4 and 5 mile length obstacle courses. Hoping that the 10k isn't out of my league. Though I'll have my DS with me as my ankle biter to keep me going.
