Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

Friday for me as well. my friends and I are only really worried about getting one or two reservations. From there we'll just grab whatever we feel like at the time.

Yes, ADR day is Friday morning for me as well! I really wish I still lived on the east coast, so that the early morning wake up call wouldn't be so very early! I'm most worried about BOG breakfast and BOG dinner. Good luck to everyone trying to get those hard to reserve ones!

I don't even know if my cousin and I are going to any parks, I don't know how long she'll be there. I have my flight out there, but not back home yet.

I figure I'll make some ADRs for the two of us and figure it out later.

I *know* I have to hit Trader Sam's at some point because the Pearl drink (and souvenir cup) is MINE. Might go after the 10K so I can have that and a Hippopotamaitai (not with the souvenir glass because I have one).

BOG lunch, yum. POR and AOA build your own pasta but of course those aren't TS. Sanaa is sooo good. Brown Derby for after the 10K to refuel; the tofu noodle bowl is so good. I added some others to my "notes" on the Itinerary page on MDE, but I can't log in right now. Grr at the website and at myself for not writing it down on paper.

Oh well! I still have a bit of time. :)

And maybe I should talk to my cousin. She said she was going to wear a tiara. I might have to find one, too.

Are you guys checking-in on Wednesday? We check-in on Thursday and our ADR day isn't until this Saturday. I was confused because I had always heard the if you're staying on property, you could do ADRs at 180 + 10, but I called the Disney Dining line and they told me I couldn't do ADRs until August 22nd, but by my calculations that's not 180 + 10, but I may be wrong. (This is so confusing!) I'm not too concerned since we're not trying to eat anywhere that's super-hard to get a reservation, but still, I was hoping to have it done since we're going to be at dbf's parent's house this weekend for his mom's birthday, and I really didn't want to have to take care of that while we're there.

180 + 10 is really confusing - what it actually means is that you can do length of stay (up to 10 days), starting 180 days before check in (as opposed to staying offsite, when you can only do one day at a time, but also at 180). It gives you an advantage for the later days of your stay because you can reserve for those days earlier than people staying offsite.
I really wish there was a different way to say it, because saying "180 + 10" gets really confusing if you're not used to it.

@Luv2Run see @SarahDisney post - your ADR date IS August 22. I'm checking in on Wednesday so mine is the day before yours.

I got confused when I went to make ADRs for my Disneyland trip* in 2 weeks (!!)...they don't have the "+10" options so I had to do the one for my first day, then the next morning do the one for my second day, etc. With WDW I'll be able to do them for my whole trip on Friday morning (the "+10").

*Yes, I know you don't *need* ADRs for Disneyland but I am way too OCD not to make them!!! :teeth:

Yes, I check in on Wednesday. The ADR 180+10 is very confusing to me, especially for trips longer than 10 days. I love being able to make another actual step in my trip planning though so ADR morning is a happy one!

@Ariel484 what Disneyland reservations did you make? We are west coasters now, so will definitely be planning a trip soon and I'm sort of lost when it comes to Disneyland!

Good to know about POT. I ran a 53:46 10K and I know I won't run anything faster this year, so I'm submitting that.

Debating whether to do my long run today while the kids are in school. It looks like it's the coolest day in the next 10 day forecast, so I feel like I should. Wish me luck, princesses! princess:

**ATTENTION**

I just called runDisney and was connected to Track Shack (who handles runDisney's corralling, Proof of Time, timing of the races, etc.) because my registration was not showing up in the Proof of Time link. Apparently there is some sort of glitch in the website and they are working to correct it. She said to try again later today or tomorrow. I bet they'll be getting a lot of calls about this today!

So this is how I understand it for trips longer than 10 days...

At the 180 day mark you can make reservations for the first 10 days of your trip. So then the next day you can log on again and day 11 of your trip is now in the "+10" window, so you can make an ADR for day 11. And so on for the rest of your days.

This will be my first trip to Disneyland so I too am sort of lost! Our ADRs are: PCH Grille brunch, Blue Bayou lunch, Naples dinner and Carnation Cafe breakfast. I've heard Disneyland has really good counter service so I'm looking forward to that!

I'm such a dumb-dumb, that makes total sense about the 180 + 10. Thanks, guys.

Back to our regular scheduled programming...

I won't be submitting my POT until after my upcoming 10K on Halloween. It's a good thing I have until Nov. 17th! I suppose I could just submit my POT from last year's 10K (which snagged me Corral E this year) today and then resubmit later if I need to, but I'm trying to PR again. I'm a perfectionist and my own worst enemy, and it bugs me that my 10K time was 1:00:18. I'm really hoping for a sub-1 hour 10K time this year.

UPDATE: looks like it's working! I was able to submit my time. :)

I counted wrong and thought my ADR day was tomorrow, but it is Friday like many of you. I find it funny I will be making my reservations for this trip before my reservations for my November 12-15 Avengers race weekend reservations. Its only 60 days ahead out at DL. Right now my POT plan is a race on 9/13 but I have back ups in mind in October if that doesn't go well. As a last resort I can use the Avengers 10k for POT but with Disney crowds I assume that won't be terrific. But it would be better than nothing.

I've only ever submitted 1 POT, say I run the 9/13 race and do good enough I submit the time, but then I do a second 10k and do better can I enter a POT again? I assume so but wanted to check. If not I will wait until closer to the cut-off to submit to be sure of the result.
