How else can I get more protein and not pack on the calories?

That IS the question, isn't it? For me protein is best from cheese and nuts, and, of course, those aren't the lowest in calorie. And like you, my cravings were crazy. It's hard!

I wasn't strong enough to "just say no", and I wasn't strong enough to work on the protein.

can we add the retreat later, or did we have to do it when we registered?

Eventually it might sell out, but it likely isn't now. You can add it up until it sells out!

island boost? Never heard of it. Will be hitting the google on that one....[/QUOTE]

You may find it on google. Their website is islandboost.com and the owner's story is there. It's a great alternative to the gels although it is a little more expensive. The chocolate is awesome!! It may curb your chocolate craving and is only 55 calories per pack.

Cross posting because I'm too lazy to think of 3 different ways to convey the same thing lol:

Another 8 miles tackled this AM. MUCH MUCH better run this week than last. It was an amazing run. Although, I can see how long distance becomes as much mental as it is physical, somewhere between mile 4-6 I kept thinking "damn, I don't know if I can do this" and had to correct myself into thinking "come on, you got this, only x miles to go". Shaved about 2-3 minutes off my time from last week, but more importantly, kept between 12 and 12:20 pace until mile 4. Again, 4-6 I really slowed down. Mile 4 and 6 were lower 13 and mile 5 was mid 14. Picked up that pace for mile 7 and finished strong in the lower 12's.

Ran in a new pair of Newton Aha's (can't remember if I posted in this thread or another of the race threads I'm on with my questions on them) and I have to say I like them quite a bit. Enough that I can honestly say I may have found the shoes that pull me away from Asics....

I'm so glad I started training early. I am finding it so hard to get up before the crack of dawn on a Saturday and run. Last night I ate pasta for energy this morning but at 4:30 a.m. my body decided it hated that pasta... there went all my energy!

Try Yams they work for me, my tummy hates pasta too!

Mine actually loves pasta. That is part of the problem. It loved it a full bowl full when I should have stopped at half. And then there was the yummy garlic bread. And the ice cream...

We haven't made ADRs yet, heck we haven't even thought about our plans for the days yet. Need to figure that out soon. I want to get some good park time in as well as some nice rest and relaxation before and after the race. I hope the weather is nice enough to sit by the pool, but not super hot or wet the morning of the race. I'm really happy to be eating anywhere or doing anything as long as I'm at WDW!

I'm not sure about my ADR's. I'm solo for this race, so I'm not sure I'm going to be doing a ton of sit down dining. That'll be a WDW first for me....

I'm solo too but I'm packing this trip with ADRs. I like to be waited on, what can I say? :ssst:

That perhaps we have more in common that we realized? :rolleyes1

I think too that the other problem is that I've been every place so many times (well I'd say 90% of the sit down places anyway) that I can only think of a couple that I'm sure I'll do. I haven't been to the Cali Grill since Yoshi retired, so I'm gonna check out the sushi and see if that stayed good. Maybe check out the places at Disney Springs. I always count on DH to clean my plate for me though, so I have to remind myself not to let my eyes talk for my belly :ssst:

:-) Ah. This will only be my second time to WDW so I'll have a lot of places still to visit. 4 more days til ADR day!

Pasta is lyfe. If I had a bottomless stomach, I'd fill it with spaghetti. I am so looking forward to the creat-your-own pasta.

We've been to WDW enough times to know which places are worth using an ADR for, and which places we'd rather skip. We're forgoing BOG this trip, for instance. It was a nice experience, but there are still so many places we want to check out yet. My dbf really wants to eat at San Angel Inn, because he loves the water ride that goes past it and likes the dark, cool atmosphere. I hadn't considered it before because we can get really good Mexican food pretty much anywhere, but I keep reminding myself that it's more than just food, it's an experience.

You sound like me. I don't particularly care about carbs in that sense- but I LOVE Italian food, ESP the pasta dishes. I could eat Pesto every day I think!! And I'm a sucker for a good spaghetti. Or a good capellini pomodoro. Or....well you get the idea ;)

If you enjoy Mexican food, having eaten in both San Angel Inn and La Hacienda de San Angel- I would say you can't go wrong. I did enjoy the theming of the Inn (think DLR Blue Bayou in concept but not nearly as large from what I gather) but being the foodie that I am- I really prefer La Hacienda. Every time I go, I swear their cucina is full of abuelitas. The food is just that good. Bring your hollow leg and room in your stomach though- it's a LOT of food. :D

Come on over! tonight is steak and potatoes and homemade black and blueberry pie. Tomorrow is run day and back to pilates!

Road trip to precious' house!!! :car:
Who's with me???:dogdance:

You should treat yourself to at least one ADR! Its nice to be able to sit back and relax :)
Oh definitely! I've literally never eaten a full sit down at WDW by myself (not my own limitation- just has never happened) so I don't even know where I'd most love to be.

Like L2R, I'll be skipping BOG this time around. I've skipped it the last 2-3 trips. Yes, the grey stuff is freakin out of this world delicious (and not the same at lunch as at dinner) but the rest of the experience has always left me feeling like it was lacking. Like they stopped running just short of the finish line and still expected the medal, you know?

I think I'm sold on the sushi bar at Cali Grill. DH and I love to do tea time at the tea room- but I think I'll skip that this time. I've never been to Jiko's maybe I'll try there? I haven't locked down a rental car for this trip yet so ADR's will be kind of dependant on that too. If I'm dependant on WDW transportation, I'll likely eat around the monorail or at EPCOT. Croque Monsieur here I come!!

Maybe I'll go to the Tequila Tavern over at EPCOT. Or the Wave. That's another good one if you're solo. Mostly, I'm trying to think of places where I can actually eat and don't need DH's bottomless pit to clean my plate for me :rolleyes1

Friday for me too. 3AM...can't wait. :P It actually shouldn't be that bad. I get up at 4 to run anyway.
