Now one last question - I put in my anticipated pace per mile, but I've never done a race before so I have no proof of time. Will I be put in the last corral unless I complete an official race before Aug 2nd (and submit that time)? Or do they place you in corrals for the 10K based on the anticipated pace you enter at registration?

We are in too! Myself, DS, DH and my DAD (last minute addition!) for the 5k. DH for the 10k. Me for the half.

He has a proof of time from previous runDisney events. I just didn't know how they place the corrals for the 10K (he's never done anything but the TOT 10 miler and half marathons). I just don't want to be in the last corral if I can help it (I put an estimated pace of 13:01-14:00/mi)..so if I needed to do another race earlier, I would

It's just like the 5K - you estimate your time and they'll throw you into a corral -- except this race is timed!

I haven't entirely decided my costume yet, but I think I might go for something Sailor Moon, like this girl did Hope to meet some DISers there!

That is such a cool idea!!

I'm having @JacknSally make me a captain america inspired running shirt for the event. Blue tank top with his shield on the chest. Close enough to realize it's him but not exactly. My husband is wearing an Iron Man inspired running shirt - so we clearly have our sides picked for Captain America: Civil War.

I will try this out while training, but how is running in knee high socks? if i go the sailor moon costume route, there are these I could get They come in tights or knee high socks...I would assume the socks would be more comfortable

I am planning on running as the Winter Soldier. I have black (almost all black) Brooks, black shin/calf compression socks and I am planning on getting a black SparkleSkirt, a black tech tank, and, sleeves (one black and one silver with a red star).

Very happy for everyone who got in! This doesn't seem as crazy as some of the other event registrations have been (based on what I have seen through the Dis).

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Tink still has half spots less than a month out and DDD in September does as well. I would have been surprised to see anything sell out. Maybe the 10k today or tomorrow since it's a new theme, but even that's a stretch to me. I've checked a few times since noon and haven't seen anything go on hold.

No I don't think it did. Out of curiosity I checked last years thread (home with a sick kiddo and reading the boards while he's watching a movie) . 10k and kids races went very quick, Challenge went day 2. 5k went at least 3 days, never saw a post about a sell out but it was in the 90% range three days after general registration opened. I scanned ahead toward the race date, saw a post Oct 24 saying the half was at 94% then a post saying they took percentages down a week later.

Couple other theories:
- More people trying Wine & Dine this year because they like the change to morning (I'm not one of those)?
- Everyone already gave runDisney all of their money already this year for the Light Side - Dark Side registrations, challenges and merchandise?
- Everyone is planning to give Disney all of the rest of their money for extra morning hours, extra evening hours, increased tiered ticket prices, and extra everything else that they've been announcing lately!

Seriously though my best guess is that Tink suffers from timing issues around Mothers day, DL suffers from heat and timing (tough to travel if the kiddos are just heading back to school which shrinks the pool of runners to more local or no kids) and also the fact that DL had a big celebration medal year last year. And Avengers is still probably struggling from the Santa Ana winds the first year.

Plus I think that the 10ks pull away from the halfs quite a bit for beginning runners who we all know Disney is great at getting. A half and/or a challenge is not an easy entry point into running, and if there's a 10k option, a lot of people might test the waters there first.

FYI ... I don't know when it happened, but the Kids Races are sold out.
Everything else is still available.
