Official 2016 5th Anniversary Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

We don't have any food planned. Our hotel is near Riverwalk which means we may eat at Cheesecake Factory once. I'll probably grab a bread bowl soup from the pier in California Adventure while we're there but I don't think any of us have considered eating beyond that.

Since it will be our first time at DCA We have decided to do the World of coloring dining package but not sure which restaurant to choose... Anyone have any recommendations? The choices are Ariels Grottos, Wine Country Trattoria, or Carthay Circle?

And I know it's not an ADR but I really want to try Trader Sam's!

We've always enjoyed our meals at Trattoria and did a World of Color package. The viewing location for WOC is centrally located and you still need to arrive early before the seating window opens.

We ate at Carthay in July for my birthday dinner and sadly, weren't impressed. My salmon was overdone and DH and DD had overly/extremely salty food. DH had considered sending his back, which he never does, but we wanted to get back over to DL for Paint the Night. The dessert was excellent!

Carthay's Lounge with the small plate menu is reported to be excellent. We also went to Trader Sam's and it was fun!

Is Ariels's still a character meal?

Husband and I went to Wine Country Trattoria and Carthay Circle in December and weren't really impressed with either place.

Wine Country Trattoria was...okay. Both of our meals were pretty plain and nothing on the menu really jumped out at me.

Carthay Circle was REALLY good, but the portion sizes were tiny. Really did not feel like it was a good value for the money...both my husband and I were getting soft pretzels by Tower of Terror less than an hour later because we were still hungry. May not be as big an issue with the package though, since that would include appetizer and dessert...? :confused3

@MommaoffherRocker: Another choice is to pull a FP for WOC as soon as you enter DCA. You can have a WOC FP and another DCA FP at the same time. And, you can also have a DL FP. The two parks aren't connected FP-wise.

We have viewed WOC from the FP area on the bridge and also enjoyed that less-crowded view.

Thanks, I will look into that! I am so use to how things are done at WDW.

We did the WOC dinner package at WCT in June and we really enjoyed it! I'm contemplating booking it for Sunday but again not sure if I want to commit to being in one park just yet. I've had lunch at Ariels Grotto and Carthay Circle other times. Both were great IMO so I'm really no help I guess lol! I like dining outside though so thats probably why I lean towards WCT and Ariels Grotto.

For those of you that did Tink last May, tell me more about the weather. Obviously it will be warmer in January but what else do I need to know? Hows the humidity in May? Am I gonna be "hot" by the time I finish (3 hours)?

So I have a question about Mother's Day. I've been to Disneyland several times due to family living in Cali, but I don't know it like I do WDW. For those of you who do these out in Cali often, what are some things to do for Mother's Day? This is the first rD event my mom is coming with me to and I wanted to do something special.

I think there are brunches at a couple of places for Mother's Day. I thought DTD (Ralph Brennan's?) and one of the resort restaurants. They'll probably announce something in the next couple of weeks.

For the 1/2 last year, it was a little warm, but not crazy like summer. The back half of the course on Harbor and Disney Way were a little warmer b/c there isn't much shade, but it wasn't bad. I was in a short sleeve shirt and capris and was fine. I brought a garbage bag to the staging area, but by the time I got to the corrals and people were there I was fine early on.
