Official 2016 5th Anniversary Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

Question: Has anyone used the online booking feature to book rooms through runDisney? Has it worked out okay?
I did in 2014 for Princess. Booking was very smooth. The only difficulty after booking was when I called to ask about CM discounts and adding on a CM Dining plan.

I was re-routed to different "specialized" booking departments because they couldn't find my reservation even with my Confirm # because the departments only see #s that pertain to their area.

The Room Reservation button/link hadn't directed to where it was supposed to link for runDisney room reservations. A CM did find it - it had been processed in some strange area that didn't pertain to runDisney or even sports. It was a digital glitch based on the website link.

Other than that, everything was fine and the pricing was a little better than the regular pricing.

Thanks all! Something about the page looked a little weird to me...

I've only ever booked through runDisney once, and that was for my first ever rD race in 2011 at WDW. I don't remember the discount being all that great, so I haven't even looked at them for other races since then. But I just re-booked our reservation through them and it saved me $600!!! I feel bad for canceling my original reservation (which was through a TA that I am friends with)...but $600!!! Crazy!

yeah it saved me hundreds of $$$ too and now through the regular website everything is sold out, but I was able to add a night with them.

My daughter and I are running again this year. 10k for her and the pixie challenge for me. How would I know of I'm a legacy runner? I missed the first year, but I've been running since.
Thanks!

Legacy runners have done an event every year it has been offered. :)

Just saw another Twitter post that there are still spots available for the half marathon...

I did a long run in preparation for tomorrow's Half Marathon in NOLA --- a 6.2 mile race. Finished with about a 15.5 minute mile --- but had to wait for cross walks and cars to pass. This is making me feel super confident for the 10K. While i was 1:37, I feel like I can get that time down to 1:30 over the next two months.

I am so ready for this 10k! :D

You totally can. Good luck tomorrow!!

So...if I register for the half race now and corral placement times were due Feb. 2 , will I be put in last corral? I just ran a sub two half.
Perhaps I would need to call and find out.

I feel like yes, you would be in the last corral, but I'm not sure about that. I think I have heard that they do PoT submission for people that sign up later with Travel Agents, but since this is still considered regular registration it may not apply.

I would absolutely call and ask though!! Hope they give you good news!

Found my outfit for the Never Land 5K!

(These are a new release from INKnBURN, my very favorite running apparel company...they're actually headquartered about 20 minutes south of Disneyland, and I love them enough that I may sacrifice some Disney time to visit their location!)

That's a Phoenix on the shirt. Perfect for me as this will be my first post-injury race. :) I hope not to need the arm sleeves, but at least they are pretty and they match!

Not necessarily. I registered for the both the WDW Half Marathon in 2015 and the WDW Full Marathon in 2016 about 6-8 weeks before the actual race. I entered a POT at the time I registered, and I was placed in corrals commensurate with my projected time. My name was not printed on my bib, but otherwise it was the same for me registering late as it would have been registering when the race opened. I'm sure there's a cutoff for when you'll just be stuck in the last corral, but if you register now I'd say there's good chance you'll be in a corral based on your POT.

Kind of off topic but since @Ariel484 brought up her running outfit for the 5k (awesome outfit btw).

Do any of you have a raw threads membership? If so is it worth it?

Just jointed today. Sale made it a bit more worth it. Not sure if it'll be 'worth' it long term in that sense. Maybe someone else has been a member long term and they can speak on that??

I don't have a membership but it looks like you can get rD bibs through them (reading a post on the RT Facebook group that they have half and 5K bibs available for the Dark Side races).

There's an "is it worth it?" thread on that same Facebook group (10 responses) and it sounds like the general consensus is "some months yes, other months no, worth it if you want race entries." :confused3

I can't even find out the cost of the Membership.

I'm signed up for sales alerts and rawthreads has one for today only: $29 off a purchase of $100. code: LEAPDAY
