Official 2016 5th Anniversary Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

I was going to throw in a Raw Threads order tonight but all of the sizes I wanted are sold out. Bummer!

On another note, how do you guys prevent calf muscle spasms? I think it may have been a dehydration issue, but I don't know. Hit mile 10 of a half marathon and I killed my time. PR'd but added 7 minutes off where I should have been :(

I can't even find out the cost of the Membership.

I'm signed up for sales alerts and rawthreads has one for today only: $29 off a purchase of $100. code: LEAPDAY

THANK YOU! I was so bummed I couldn't find what I was looking for at the expo and this just pushed me to get my first Raw Threads shirts :cool1: I'll wait for another sale to buy those again though, they are pricey!

I don't have a membership but it looks like you can get rD bibs through them (reading a post on the RT Facebook group that they have half and 5K bibs available for the Dark Side races).

There's an "is it worth it?" thread on that same Facebook group (10 responses) and it sounds like the general consensus is "some months yes, other months no, worth it if you want race entries." :confused3
Thanks for the advice. I really need to remember to join the facebook group. Is that the same one that does the resale or is that separate one?

Could be hydration, sodium intake maybe as well? Or just plain old fatigue.

Raw Threads Resale/Fan Club is the one I was looking at. :)

Kind of off topic but since @Ariel484 brought up her running outfit for the 5k (awesome outfit btw).

Do any of you have a raw threads membership? If so is it worth it?

I've been in the Club since September (I think?) and I will say that I think it's worth it for me, and I am not one to go crazy with purchases simply because I have a ton of RT shirts in my closet, plenty to run every day for several weeks! :) But the club membership package comes with a Streets V Club shirt, a headband, some stickers, car magnet, and a few other little doodads. RT also offers deals to members ahead of the general public and we often get discounts (in the form of buying $X in merchandise and getting $X coupon for later). There are personalized shirts available only to members, too, like the coffee cups and Valentine's hearts designs. But where the membership became REALLY worth it to me was back in Octoberish when they had their shelf sale, lots of V's, racers, and tanks for $8-20 range and at that point if a member spent $100 they received a free Club hoodie (which go for around $70). All the shelf sale items I purchased were ones I would have anyway, so the bonus hoodie was pretty sweet. Unfortunately there hasn't been a similar deal for a while and I really haven't even ordered much (see above statement about abundance of RT shirts). But to me, it's been worth it so far.

Yes, they do have bibs available to members. I haven't purchased one through them, but it looks like for most race offers, they throw in a RT shirt(s) corresponding to that race (for PHM, they had princess shirts, I think Rose, Snow, and Cindy) and they have bibs for races that have sold out - I was very tempted to get a Rebel Challenge bib through them. Totally agree on the consensus in the Facebook group you mention.

Thanks for the info. Are the races they have bibs for usually Disney races and/or ones in Florida/California or do they have bibs for races around the country?

I haven't looked recently, but it was all rD races in FL and CA, as well as the Celebration Half/Marathon that they sponsor in Celebration, FL.

I drink coconut water the week leading up to a half. The potassium helps with the cramping I think. If I have a long run of 10 miles or more I'll drink one the day before the long run. But the weeks with a half I have one a day usually.

Since I'm shut down for a while, I have the approaching opening of ADRs as my only spot of joy to look forward to. (Yes, I know I'm being WILDLY dramatic.)

What's everyone planning on for ADRs?

BFF and I will book Storytellers Cafe for dinner the night before the 10K. Breakfast at LaBrea Bakery after the 10K. Probably dinner at Cafe Orleans to celebrate with beignets there!:)

Post 10K breakfast at Steakhouse 55 :cheer2:

@flvy and I are having a Disneyland date day the day before and we're doing Carnation Cafe breakfast and maybe a quick service lunch, based upon where we are in the park at the time we're hungry. Carbing up with some Mickey Waffles!

So I have a question about Mother's Day. I've been to Disneyland several times due to family living in Cali, but I don't know it like I do WDW. For those of you who do these out in Cali often, what are some things to do for Mother's Day? This is the first rD event my mom is coming with me to and I wanted to do something special.

Definitely a Napa Rose dinner and a Carnation Cafe breakfast (APPLE GRANOLA PANCAKES). Other than that, not sure. :)

rawthreads.com extended their Leap Day sale through tonight, March 1st.
Same code: LEAPDAY

If anyone hasn't booked flights yet, southwest's sale is still going on and it's a really good one. I just booked PHX to LAX for this race for $80 round trip!!
For a second I thought you wrote PHL and I was excited. PHX makes much more sense.

I'm not really sure what ADs to do. We arrive Saturday and we're going to make ressies for Rainforest Cafe. We wont be in park on Saturday and of all the DTD restaurants thats what my friend and I agree'd upon. Sunday will be our only park day and she does have a hopper. Part of me was thinking of blue bayou for lunch but another part of me is worried we'll want to wing it. Her first look at DCA will be during the Half and I'm wondering if she's gonna want to go there before DL? Not sure yet.

Book the Afternoon Tea at the Disneyland Hotel (Steakhouse 55). You could do it either Saturday or Sunday afternoon. (I'd recommend Saturday since the half is on Sunday and may be more crowded)
