"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

does anyone know where the old hag is during the parties? thx
By the Hall of Presidents porch area. And tiana comes out at 7:45 in heritage hall next store. We got a spot for the parade at 7 then ran the kids over and did tot while a group of us adults stayed. There were a lot of kids behind us and we let them upfront. I wish everyone would do that.

We went to last night's party as well, and had a great time. It did seem a lot more crowded than past years, but not unmanageable. Our priorities were the stage show and the parade. We got a spot in front of the castle (just behind a construction wall) about 7:45. That allowed us a great view of the show, and a great second row spot for the parade. The show was good, but I loved the past few years shows and didn't think it was quite as good.
After the parade we wandered over the HM to watch Renata, who was amazing. After that we wound our way back around the park ToTing and were just behind the carousel as Hallowishes started. Watched that (a great view wasn't a priority, we'll watch it again from our room at Poly tonight), then continued to Tomorrow land in time to see Sulley do the thriller dance. We didn't do any m&gs, and left the park around 11:30 with a bif bag of candy.

Question about the wristband pick up. Does everyone have to be present or can you go with the MB? We have a ressie for 4pm at the Plaza after being in the park most of the day. I was thinking about, if possible, after ordering food and waiting on it to come just going around the corner to the Tomorrow Land with the MB of all 4 of us while my kids sit with my husband at the table and get them. Would this work?

No. CMs will not let you walk off with party wristbands. They place them on each guest's wrist.

Getting a wristband just takes a few seconds and there is no need for them until after 7:00 anyway, unless you're going for an early character line. I wouldn't worry about getting them too much...just go after dinner.

Gotcha.. was hoping to kill the dead time while we wait since I am the faster one in the group while my kids veg. That is why I wanted to know ahead of time :) TY for letting me know.

I just bought one-day Memory Maker at the TTC for tonight's party.
This is tempting me. I have seen some people post about waiting in line for some of the magic shots. We wouldn't really be interested in those, would we encounter lines at the other photo pass photographers? We have two little kids (5 and 8 months) so avoiding waiting is best! Also does the quality of photos go down when it's night time? I have a dslr and shoot on manual, would I be better off setting up my own shot and just handing my camera to the photographer?

Also with the bands and adr, I told them I had CRT at 4:20 they refused to let us in until 4pm even though I had an annual pass and because of construction we barely made it to CRT. Unlike other years though the ENTIRE side was event only, where as last year there were still some non event stations.

Was at the party last night. It was alot of fun and not too crowded. We were able to do everything that we wanted without much trouble. However it didn't seem like there were as many photographers out as on previous days. Maybe we just missed them though...

Even if I purchased memory maker, I would hand off my pre-set DSLR anyway. It doesn't hurt anything, takes just another minute, and you have a back up plan. Some photo pass photographers are great and some of them have resulted in out of focus shots, in my experience.

We went to our first party last night.. it was crowded, but not awful. Did the Dessert Party and appreciated the seating for the parade and fireworks. I'm sure I could have found seating elsewhere but was worth the peace of mind. If I were to go again I would definitely trick or treat and rides during the events. We did minimal trick or treating because the candy we rec'd at the party was more than enough.

Does anyone know if the last HP show is shorter every night, or was it just because of the rain last week?
I read somewhere (either here or wdwmagic) someone stated that it is shorter every night, seems odd.
Hoping someone can confirm! TIA

@ FeralCatRogue would have you been able to get in through the turnstiles on the left with your AP, but then have to find wristbands later?

I think I have decided to do MM for our whole trip and not just the party night. Can some one clarify though why I was told not to look at the photos before getting home? I am like a kid on Christmas morning and I do not know if I can go with out sneaking peaks. We will be there for 10 days.

I just got an AP email offering tickets for $70/person and All Star Music Resort for $84/night Mon to Thursday and $102/night weekends. We aren't going to a 2nd party this year or booking a room. Need to save for whatever Star Wars stuff comes out instead!!

We look at our right away - especially now that they're available via the app and it's easy! You only get 30 days to download them all after you activate your MemoryMaker, which you need to do if you don't want your photos obstructed by watermarks. if the watermarks don't bother you, you can wait and then have a full 30 days to download one you get home.

Just an FYI to everyone - we had TERRIBLE luck with our party photos this year. Many photographers were having technical issues - or just weren't there. The lighting is consistently bad in the photos we did get. We couldn't find Magic Shots. We get MemoryMaker for our entire trip, but I wouldn't get it just for the party. We had similar issues the past 2 years at parties as well.
