I'm running (hopefully) the Tink half too! I still have to start training though. (-:
The Galloway Tink running program doesn't start until Sept. 3, so I think you're just fine!

Can anyone recommend a decent hotel? BW Stovalls is sold out. Thanks
Cindy
Try the hotels on Harbor like; BW Park Place Inn, Fairfield Inn, Howard Johnsons.
There are SO many on Harbor that are walking distance...I'm sure you will find something. Hope this helps.

Did 8 miles yesterday in prep for a half I'm running in October. Longest I've run since Tink in January! I'm not as fast as I was before my hip injury but I'll get there! Felt good to get a big chunk of mileage done like that.
Good luck to all you Tinks running in the DL Half and DDD this weekend!

Pixie dust to you!
But at the end of it all, I'll have my Tink 10K, Tink 1/2, Enchanted 10K, Princess 1/2, Glass Slipper Challenge, Pink C2C AND a You Can Fly Medal from a Virtual 19.3 race challenge (since RD didn't do a tink challenge). I figure i've got the medals covered.

I'm at the Howard Johnson on Harbor. They have a 25% discount for Tink runners but you have to call their in house reservations and ask for it.
Many of the hotels on Harbor and Katella are walking distance. I've also stayed at Desert Inn and Suites and the BW Park Place Inn and would stay at either again.
The race starts & ends over by the Paradise Pier Hotel, I would suggest putting that hotel in Google maps or whatever and then checking out the distance between that and whatever hotel you're interested inSo, can someone explain the difference between staying at one of these hotels, like the Howard Johnson's, and staying at a Disneyland hotel? Can you walk to the race start from the Howard Johnson's? (Sorry for the cluelessness - I have only been to DL once and it was a pretty long time ago!)
As for Disneyland hotels, they are usually quite a bit more expensive than the other hotels. They do offers some perks (early entry to both DCA and DL, nicer pools, that "disney feeling" etc.) PPH is obviously the closest hotel and the Grand is right across the street. But if you don't mind walking there are plenty of less expensive options. So, can someone explain the difference between staying at one of these hotels, like the Howard Johnson's, and staying at a Disneyland hotel? If I were doing Tink in 14, I would stay there again.

Booked my airfare this morning!
I was so sorry to read all the complaints about the Expo and organizations issues at the DLR 1/2 this last weekend. I really hope RunDisney took notes and comes up with a plan of action to correct the issues. I think it will help that the 5k and 10k are being run on different days rather than one immediately following the other.
