That is a great price. I paid just a little less from BWI to Orlando for the Princess Half.

Kim - thanks for the course maps!!
Patty - I will be watching for your race highlights. Since that is in my own backyard, I might want to try it next year. The Austin one sounds great. May have to try that one. What month is it usually held? I was in Austin last weekend for the Warrior Dash. Ran it with 5 friends. We made a road trip of it.
Indygirl - I hate hearing runners act like that! I have thinking about doing some volunteering.
Ran 3.1 miles today.

LAX to the park is about a 45 min bus ride?
If I plan to fly out on Sunday after I finish the Tink, what would be a good flight time if I were to fly out of LAX. I checked Orange County but all the flights from there have plane changes.
There are now six of us flying in on Thursday night. We are flying home on Tuesday. We plan on doing the expo on Friday. Sunday, we run the half and then take in the park for the rest of the day and on Monday.
What do you suggest for Saturday besides having a good pasta dinner? I want to take it easy and rest my legs. We are staying at Stovalls.

Kim- Said there were 14K registered- results show around 11K. I noticed there was a lot of breathing room and room to run on the course- nothing like Disney. I wasn't sure if that was because we had larger roads or if a lot of people stayed home due to weather, or what!
Never had a crowd other than the start and even that separated out really quickly.

Just keep in mind the traffic and all it takes is a accident or two to make it even worse. Personally, I would not cut it too close.
I would make it a mid to late afternoon flight. Don't wanna stress all morning during the race whether you will get there on time. Plus you need to factor in emergencies, traffic, weather, being there the reguired 2 hours early, etc.
I am excited to let you all know I picked my "costume" for Tinker. Keep an eye out for the runner sporting the "Arthritis National Research Foundation" Singlet! I have dedicated my next year of training and racing towards a cure for arthritis. I will run as a Warrior with this disease and for this disease! I am super excited to finally be running for the funding and setting an example for people with my disease!

A question - what is the name of the app that you like for your interval timer?
Thanks![]()
Seconds Pro- I have an iphone
That sounds wonderful!
Like already said, you don't want to be rushed or cut it close. I wouldn't book anything before 2pm at the very earliest, that way you have time to finish and get everything together before the shuttle picks you up. Also, even if the race is over at the latest 9am, it could still take a little while for all the traffic aound the park to get back to normal. If you have a flight in mind, you can go online to Super Shuttle and put in your flight info for a quote and they'll show you how early they need to pick you up before you book the flight to see if it works for you.

For those of you that have Garmins, which model do you have?
I was looking at the Garmin Forerunner 10, mainly becuase of the price. I just want a GPS feature as I dont run with my iphone. Right now its just my $14.99 timex and I figure out my mileage by doing routes on mapmyrun.
