Official 2014 MNSSHP Guest List (and discussion) Thread

Planning on 9/26 party. Daughter wants to be Aurora, husband will go as "dad" or some other non costumed person, son has no clue, and hopefully I will be in some kick butt Maleficent get up (which I'm sure no one else will be this year-- haha). Now please calm my (hopefully irrational) fears that the 9/26 party (a Friday night) will not be packed to the gills. Getting a little nervous after the reports I've heard from the Villains Unleashed event. I know MNSSHP is a different beast and is well established, but I am concerned that I am completely underestimating how busy things will be on that night. This is our first MNSSHP and we were planning to do an AK park morning before the party and I also think that might be a ridiculous idea. Basically, now that ADRs and FP+ are booked I have totally lost faith in my planning abilities. My ADRs are really messing with things, but I've had no luck in rearranging them. So we either do AK on same day as MNSSHP or I buy hoppers so we can do AK after our 11:55 CRT on 9/27. The Idea of $200+ for hoppers and another $200+ For party tickets kind of makes me sick though. Sorry for rambling. My husband wants to have no part in planning and I feel like no option is great. We have only been to WDW once as a family (5 years ago). We have 4 days for parks and have not been to AK at all, but the CRT reservation and MNSSHP are pretty high on our list. I haven't even begun to make a party plan because I'm overwhelmed with my lack confidence in the whole schedule. Anyway, this thread is great fun. I love to read about everyone's costumes!

We had the hoppers on our last trip and loved the flexibility, but I justified the price of the party this year by opting out of the hoppers. Hope I haven't made a mistake, because we loved ending each day at MK!! However, if you are considering adding the hopper just to do a half-day at AK, not worth it in my opinion. We considered skipping AK on this trip altogether. If you can do it the morning of the party, that will likely be enough time to hit all the highlights, and still give you time to rest up before the big event!

While Fridays are usually busier party nights than during the week, you are going in September, so that will help with crowd control. In fact, your date is predicted to be #12 (out of 26 parties) for lowest wait times (for rides). However, that party date DID sell out in 2013, so you might have higher crowds for character M&G / parades. Regardless, there are a limited number of tickets sold for each night, and I've been told a sellout party still doesn't feel as busy as a really crowded park day. You'll be fine!!!

So I just read that the dwarfs will be located at the "castle walls in New Fantasyland." Are those the walls at the entrance to NF? We have not been to WDW since SDMT opened, so cannot visualize how close is to the queue?

Yes. The walls leading closest to Pinnochio haus, etwb, and side view of 7dmt. I'll post a pic later today. Off to the dark side at the moment.

Just purchased tickets for the Villains Sinister Soirée on 10/16....hoping some of you guys going to earlier parties will let me know if it's worth it!!! And yes, pictures of the desserts should be posted with your review!!! LOL! It's a hard price tag to swallow, but not sure when we'll have an opportunity to do a fall trip again, since both kids will be in school starting next year, so that's how I'm justifying it!!

No reservations, just trying to do and see as much as possible!

We, too, booked the Villains Soirée.

If the reviews from the first few weeks come in and it's an overwhelming waste of money I'll cancel, but regardless, this one event knocks out 3 lines I would spend 1-2 hours standing in. Time is money at WDW. If I can meet Maleficent, Dr. Facillier, and the Evil Queen there, the only character line I need to stand in is Jack and Sally.

Agreed! I also like the preferred parade viewing as that will save me an hour of holding a spot!

They do have Cinderella meeting in the castle and fairytale hall everyday.

I'm so excited that I found this thread! I'm traveling with my mom for my birthday this year and I was tickled pink when I found out that MNSSHP was on my birthday!!! We'll be attending Sept. 19 and I'm dressing as Ariel and she's Ursula! We got fun little shirts from Adorkable Apparel that aren't over the top, but are definitely fun. They have all shorts of adorable shirts for ladies and gents!

I forgot to ask in the last thread if anyone knew about the princes at the party. I've read that they've been with the princesses in the past, but I just saw that the Evil Queen and Maleficent are going to be at Fairytale Hall with Snow and Aurora.

As much as I love those two, I was really hoping for the princes...

No princes at Fairytale Hall this year according to the comments section of the Disney Parks Blog.

From the limited info that has been released, it appears that they will be both at the party and inside PFH. It also appears that they have done away with the "mingle" part of the Villains Mix and Mingle, and that this event has taken the place of the after show meet and greet for at least 2 or 3 of the shows. This is a very good thing for those of us who bought Soiree tickets, as trying to meet the characters after the show is kind of a nightmare. Think trying to be in the front row of a Motley Crue concert around 1987. Pushing, shoving, and some very not so magical behavior.

Yay - so excited! My DH surprised me tonight with tickets to the party - we're driving from NJ to Miami to go on a cruise, and my son is flying with my sister to save a couple days at school. DH thought MNSSHP would ease the pain of having to drive with him, lol.

FWIW, I don't think I'm going to use their viewing area. If it's where I think it is, it isn't all that great and it will be crowded. I also don't think the hub is the best place to watch Wishes, but that is just me. Don't ask me where the best place is though, LOL, that is a secret I'm keeping guarded lest everyone else catch on. We're always the only ones there.
