So, I will do this post early in hopes of helping things along....

QUESTION OF THE WEEK.....

pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MAGICAL DISNEY MOMENT EVER???
can be ANY Disney park.

My first time at Disneyland, when my husband took me there for our honeymoon. I will never forget the feeling of walking through the tunnel for the first time and coming out and seeing Main Street with the castle at the end. I am still convinced that Disney pumps happy gas into the air!

Part of the reason for our August trip is to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary!

You can add us to the list! We will be staying at the PPH for Disneyland® Half Marathon Weekend. We will be running our 1st 5K. We will be arriving 8/27 and staying until 9/1.

what is your anniversary date?

Our wedding anniversary is actually July 10 but because my husband was on an officer training course at the time we got married, we delayed our honeymoon by a month.

I would love to go once in July because our son's birthday is the day before our anniversary, on July 9th.

Just booked our first DLR trip today! pixiedust: It's a mother-daughter trip for DD14 and me -- we'll be there from 8/2-8/7. So excited to officially join the August thread!

I've got a tie for magical moments, both at WDW: one, when Aladdin and Jasmine rode the Carpets with us, and the second was when Push the Trash Can (RIP ) made DD his "girlfriend" and took her on a "date" to Auntie Gravity's, where he bought her an ice cream cone. Good memories!

Apologies if I have missed this information somewhere...

In the last week of August, can I expect to see fireworks every night? Or will they have gone down to their off-peak schedule by then?

We have been blessed with many magical moments at Disney, but my favorite happened in Toon Town at DL. We had the kids photo taken at Mickey's front door, then proceeded inside. Turns out it was time for Mickey's hot chocolate break, so he followed us in, took my five year old by the hand, and showed him all around his house. There was no one in the house but us because the previous visitors had already gone through and all the rest were still waiting outside for their photo with Mickey. Still brings tears to my eyes when I think about it. :)

My second favorite moment was being in the parade in 2010, the year of the volunteer promotion. Ten in our family volunteered at our local MS Walk and were selected to ride in the white car together in the parade. I thought it would be fun for the kids but I think the adults enjoyed it much more!

Good question...because I have the same one too! We will be there the last week of August and we were wondering the same thing. I guess we will know for sure come July when the park times are released.:confused3

Going August 22-23, woohoo! Desert Inn and Suites, hope to eat at Chip and Dale Breakfast at GCH

Here is a recap of all our QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK so far for those that didn't catch them and would like to answer them. Please do - I LOVE hearing the answers!

1) What are you tips for the heat and crowds?

FastPass, FastPass, FastPass! As long as you can get on the more popular rides with a FastPass or don't mind riding as a single rider, you won't wait as long as you would if you were in standby. Also, come as early as possible. The crowds really don't start pouring in until about 10-11 a.m. and they stay rather steady--for instance, in the summer--all the way to the fireworks and then people start heading home.

I find that if you plan around popular times to do things: parades, typical lunch times, shows, that you can get on some rides a bit faster, especially if you have a FastPass. Also, if you can, spread out your days instead of going just one day. That way, it feels like you truly did as much as you could, and it's easier to handle crowds knowing you're coming back the next day.

2) What is your FAVORITE DISNEY SNACK?

Oh, gosh. I have to admit that it's the churros. I haven't really graduated from that, but I'm hoping to change it up on this next visit to August! (Any suggestions?)

3) What is your FAVORITE DISNEY RIDE?

Indiana Jones! Oh my goodness, I remember when it first opened and I went on it with my dad. I was so much in love with this ride and I still am. I'm super excited to see how they've changed it up since I was there last July, but I'm trying to figure out what they did to it when it was in rehab state this year. Anyone know? Just regular maintenance?

4) What is the one ride you refuse to go on?

Although I've been on it twice--California Screamin'. I really, really am not a fan of roller coasters, but I've been on it with my uncle and my friend, and the latter (who is going with me on this trip) tells me I have to go on it again. I'd rather go on SM than California Screamin', but I don't want to anyway.

5) What is your FAVORITE DISNEY MOVIE?

I don't think I have a favorite, but The Little Mermaid and Pocahontas.

6) WHO IS THE ONE CHARACTER YOU MUST SEE/VISIT/MEET N GREET/GET AUTOGRAPH FROM IN A DISNEY PARK?

I don't really know. I've never actually done a meet and greet, but I think Merida would be the character I'd want to meet. They've done an amazing job with her hair and her costume, and I think the actress who plays her is just perfect! Plus, she's a strong heroine who never got with a "man" and I just love that.

7) PARK SOUVENIRS!!! Is there a Disney souvie you get every trip?? Or anything in particular you are planning to get on your August trip? Or even a fave Disney souvie from the past?? I LOVE souvies so do tell all and even show pics if you can.

Hats/ears, pins, or sweaters. I have a Luigi's Flying Tires hat, a 50 Year Anniversary golden ear hat, and a silver sparkly Minnie ears headband I got from this last trip. We'll see what I pick up this year, but I'd love to hear some suggestions. (I'll add pictures a bit later)

8) WHAT WAS YOUR MOST MAGICAL DISNEY MOMENT EVER???

Really just walking into the park and staring down Main Street. It's that, "Wow, I'm at Disneyland" feeling that's hard to surpass, and I'm so incredibly excited to feel it again this year!
