**** Official 2014 AUGUST - Disneyland thread ****

yippeee! It's time for another QUESTION OF THE WEEK!

:flower3::coffee::wizard::music::genie::yo-yo::drinking1:magnify::jester::earboy2:

PARK SOUVENIRS!!!
Is there a Disney souvie you get every trip?? Or anything in particular you are planning to get on your August trip? Or even a fave Disney souvie from the past?? I LOVE souvies so do tell all and even show pics if you can :thumbsup2

Since there was a few years between them my must have souvenir from my last Diseny trips has always been a hat. A pair of Mickey Ears with my name from when I was 3. When I was 9 I got a Minnie baseball cap to match my brother's Mickey. And last year I got another baseball cap with a classic Mickey on it. Now I'm considering switching it up and getting something different on my DL trip (or just getting myself a new pair of Mickey ears)

We are looking at 4 day hopper passes, do Flight centre have it on their website, I can't seem to find it.

Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiins!

Wow that's a lot of pins!

You can't buy the tickets through the Flight Centre website. I think you have to go into a store, but you could try calling them and see if you can do it over the phone.

At the Flight Centre in Canada you can't order tickets online either, but you can call them and the agent can e-mail them to you.

Hello
Please can you add me to the list, we're a family of 5 coming over from the England, staying at the Candy Cane Inn from 1st August. This will be our first trip to Disneyland, we have been to Florida 4 times but we really wanted to see Walt's park. We will be celebrating our daughters birthday while we are over. We're also making this part of a road trip visiting Las Vegas, Death Valley, Mammoth, Yosemite, San Francisco, Monterey, Sequoia NP, Hollywood, Anaheim and San Diego.
Thank you and I hope everyone has an amazing time

I am hoping to get something cool for my kitchen on this trip and also a Christmas ornament. :)

We have done a similar road trip a couple of times. You will love it! There are so many cool things to see in those Western States!

:goodvibes

Thanks so much, I'm really looking forward to it, I just hope everything goes to plan, as there are soooooo many of them!!! Lol

I am completely jealous of anyone going to Yosemite. So beautiful. I highly recommend renting bicycles and touring the valley that way. I can't even describe how amazing it is to be out of the crowds and traffic and seeing the park that way. Just my 2 cents. :)

you guys are all way too quiet! lol. We slipped down to page 3 :scared1:

So, I will do this post early in hopes of helping things along....

FOR ME... Running my first 5K race with my daughter. What better place than in a Disney park!!! It was the Expedition Everest 5K with a scavenger hunt through the park afterwards. It was a night time race and it was SOO much fun!!

FOR DH... Doing the exotic race car experience in WDW

FOR DD... Learning to surf at Typhoon Lagoon. Something she has always wanted to do but living on the prairies just doesn't offer such a thing. She had the most amazing time!!

Can't wait to hear all your magical moments!

For me it would be being gifted with a reservation at Club 33. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have a chance to eat there but thanks to a super generous and anonymous benefactor I was able to celebrate my 40th birthday and 5th wedding anniversary there before the remodel this year. Truly a magical and surreal Disney moment.

Well, the most magical would have to be DH proposing after WOC :goodvibes Really can't top that!

But we also had some very magical moments in HKDL where we were celebrating our first anniversary.

We had anniversary badges, and lined up for a meet and greet with Minnie. I don't think anniversary badges are very common over there, and with the language barrier, her handler thought it was my birthday and started singing happy birthday. Then he looked over and saw that DH had one too and got very confused. After some explanation, he understood, then started singing here comes the bride :rotfl: Everyone was laughing, and Minnie started 'giggling' too. Then she made us pose for some nice anniversary photos with her.

When Kenai and Koda realised it was our anniversary, they also made us pose for anniversary photos. Then Koda tried to run away with me and challenged DH to a duel :lmao:

We also had Tink spot us from the parade, notice our anniversary buttons, and make a loveheart shape with her hands. And Aurora 'swooned' when she noticed. I couldn't believe they even saw our buttons from there!

Such a great trip :cloud9:

Awwwweeee!!! That is definitely a perfectly magical moment!!!! and thanks for sharing the pics those were some great character interactions too :)

Most magical moment was when a total stranger walked up to us and offered us front row seats to view Fantasmic on my 40th Birthday on our last trip. I guess she was a local who frequently goes to the park on busy days and puts a tarp out for Fantasmic early in the day and then goes out and finds random people to share her tarp with her and her son. Maybe she saw my birthday pin, but I really don't think she did because she walked up to my son and asked him if he would like to watch Fanstasmic from the front row.

There is a lot more to that story that I won't go into here (I've posted about it before on the boards), but it was truly the most magical birthday present anyone has ever given me. And I often think about how a RAK can truly make a huge difference in someone's day (and even life, I will never forget that feeling) and I try to pay that forward to others whenever I can.

wow! that's cool!!!
It reminds me of the time we took several glow sticks to the Fantasmic show at MGM (yes it was MGM then lol) and dd was happily playing with it and we scoped out kids around us eyeing them up and shared them. They were SOOO happy to have something glowing because a LOT of people have glow items at the night shows and sometimes parents don't think or know about these things in advance and aren't able to pay the prices once at the show and realize how common it is. We were so happy to have made their night. I LOVE RAK's!!!!!
