Oh I'm so excited. I was over looking at some of the F&W festival booth menus and found my favorite beer listed! MMMMMMMmmmmmm
Now I know where to direct DH!

As a participant, can we enter Epcot at 7:00 with our party members who are just doing Finish Line Party (I have read that those people can get in at 7:00). Do we just show the CM at the gate our race bib? I know we need to be on the bus at 8:00 heading to ESPN. Is any of this accurate? Thanks for the help in advance.
I don't think so. I believe the Finish Line party doesn't even start until EPCOT closes.

I'm not sure, actually. I assume you mean because you don't have a regular park ticket to use at Epcot at that time?
Yes, I don't have a park ticket to use that day. Planning on laying around all day and relaxing and using my park days for other days.
While the Finish Line Party ticket does grant admission as early as 7pm, I would not personally even worry about trying to get into Epcot at that time. I believe the shuttles only go until 8, so you're going to want to get on a bus before then...not at that time. Especially since there will be plenty of other runners trying to get on the bus also.As a participant, can we enter Epcot at 7:00 with our party members who are just doing Finish Line Party (I have read that those people can get in at 7:00). This is from the Run Disney Website, which makes me wonder if we can get in with our family members who aren't running but doing the Finish Line Party:

My plane lands around that time and I am optimistic about making it to the expo. I checked in online to help move the process along when I get to the resort.
Oh my gosh, I don't think there is an end to this list
Zebra domes from Boma
African stew from the Mara
Beef empanada from Argentina (F&WF)
Fish & chips from UK
Empanadas de queso from Mexico
Pork tenderloin in mole dinner at La Hacienda
Dole Whip
Caprese sandwich from Earl of Sandwich
Cheddar cheese soup & pretzel bread from Le Cellier
I know I am missing several things... lol
I'm doing the 1/2 so I planned on having us jump out of the ME and he can grab a expo shuttle while I keep our DDs and check in. Not sure how long the ME will take and if there will be an expo shuttle waiting and how long the expo shuttle will take.
Be sure you have filled out the waiver to grant him permission to pick up your race packet as well as a copy of photo ID. I've done it for friends in the past, its not complicated, just an extra step to take.
Thanks! I had planned to go get my packet on Saturday after his and our DDs races. He won't need anything special to pick up our DDs kid race packets right?
I keep the ugly pajamas my grandmother gives us at Christmas for just this kind of thing!Agree, was very easy to check your bag at the princess. I would recommend wearing something you don't mind "donating" to Disney. I keep a bag of sweatshirts etc that I don't mind losing for this purpose.
Was able to get in a cold 7 today bringing this weeks total to 15 - might be all I get this week, so it will have to do! Haven't skipped on any other training weeks, so I think I'll be ok. Trust my training, trust my training!
I don't remember the sweep points exactly. But I remember people being upset last year because there was a really late sweep, I think at 10 or 11 miles?for those who are not feeling well and safe travels to those of you who are lucky enough to be leaving already!

Did anyone pipe up with the historical sweep points? Not that I am planning on being swept just like to have an idea if I can consider myself safe, as long as I am making good progress, before Epcot.
Don't forget our WISH meet Saturday at 8:30 pm by the information booth on the runner's side and pictures at 8:45 p.m.
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!![]()
Stick with 2 short runs - maybe just 3 and 3 miles. Also try not to run on concrete - run on the side of the road, track, treadmill. Finally what I consider my foolproof shin exercise: toe raises. Heels on a step (facing downstairs), lift toes up 15-20 times. Bend knees a little and lift toes up 15-20 times. Medium speed. Do up to 3 sets of these a day. This worked nearly instantly for me - it was crazy.Tell me about it! Is it Friday yet???
I have a dilemma for you W&Ders to help me with please!
My left shin/calf is feeling sore and tight today.I ran saturday and stupidly did a really hard hill workout. I had shin splints back in July but new shoes took care of that. In Sept, I had this same soreness after my first 9.5 mile distance and it went away in a few days with rest and stretching and icing. But that was September. Now it's Monday and the race is saturday. I was planning on running 5 tonight and 3 wednesday and then done til the race. Should I wait until tomorrow and do 3 Tues and 3 Thurs instead hoping that things clear up by tomorrow? Or what else would you suggest? I've only gotten up to 11 miles twice, no 13+ LRs for me thanks to previous setbacks. This is my first half but I've been running consistently for nearly 18 months.
Sigh.... training has always stressed me out. I am looking forward to the actual RACE!![]()
Safe travels! See you Saturday!Leaving for the airport in a few minutes. Good luck to everyone and I hope to see you at the race Saturday night.
Ouch! Hope you've been able to work it out.Left calf/ankle feel very TIGHT, I mean
Hmm...we did the kids race last year, but I can't remember. I think DD was with me when I got the packet, but we didn't need to show anything. In any case, is DH's last name the same as the kids? If needed, he could show his ID. But I really don't think there was anything other than providing the name. Thanks! I had planned to go get my packet on Saturday after his and our DDs races. He won't need anything special to pick up our DDs kid race packets right?

I think there's a mcdonalds not far off the course that some runners sometimes pull off and get a mcflurry there. Not me. No way. I'm getting to that finish line and done as fast as I can (which is really, not very fast at all.)
lexst - can't believe you are AT disney already. So jealous.
I'm thinking my taper plan maybe should have included a couple of 6 mile walk days around the parks instead of sitting at home trying to get anything accomplished at work.![]()

Dick's Sporting Goods FINALLY opened up here in Oklahoma City this past weekend. To "celebrate," they mailed out a coupon for $10 off $25. So I went in to buy a pair of socks that were $15, and basically got $10 worth of Honey Stingers for free. I am very happy!![]()
