I have no idea if this was posted, but they had the 2012 pincess medal on display at the Disneyland EXPO. If interested it is a different color this year, both the lanyard and gem are a purple color, more of a dark purple, similar to a rapunzel purple.

Things I learned today: I need more race clothes and not be self conscious about wearing a tank top to run. I suck running outside - I must make myself train outside more often. My first 5K didn't go as well as I would've liked, but I made it, which is better than what I would've done four months and +30 pounds ago. I did burn 572 calories, though! :) On to the next race! Closer to Disney!

Had a good 5k this morning. It was really humid. I'm a straight runner and I had to walk about 20 steps near the end. I think that's good since I've been resting my foot and haven't ran more than one mile in a month.

I'm definitely a "tomato-red face" girl.

They gave out medals and cold towels at the finish. Loved the cold towel!

Yay! I'm super excited to see it, purple is my favorite color.

It was tough for me to learn not to be self conscious about running clothes. I was raised wearing shorts at least to the knee and rarely wore tanks. It was weird putting on a running skirt the first few times, but I've learned to embrace it, and it's so much more comfortable not to mention cooler.

Great job! I love 5k's that give out medals! I think all races should have them.

Glad you had a good race. Mine didn't go as well as I'd hoped. It was SO humid! It definitely affected my run. I think I'm doing the Charleston Junior League's 5K in October. Hopefully the weather will improve!

I'm thinking about that October one too.

I was happy with my time since I've been sidelined. Months ago I had a goal of being faster, today it was just to finish.

Gretchen I heard your name and I was behind the stands. We must have been really close, I know they didn't say my name until I was rounding the turn. My husband and son got stuck in line at McDonald's and didn't make it to the finish in time. That's the biggest 5k I do, most of them have a lot less people. The October one will be better. I did one last Oct and it was 40 at 9 when it started.

I wear what I like, I'm 40, who cares is my philosophy. I prefer skirts because I wear more skirts than shorts anyway.

I wore the Bondi Band and I've changed my FB profile pic to a pic from after the race today. My hair was not that frizzed out before the race.

Would love to see your pic here! Great job on your race, especially after being sidlined!

:woohoo: Got our vacay booked too!! My aunt went up to AAA and got the ball rolling, Poly for us!!! This weekend I'll be registering officially for the Princess!! YAY!!!

Love, love, LOVE the Poly! DH and I have stayed there 3 times, first time being on our honeymoon in 2003. I hadn't been to WDW since 1990 when my ex and I took our then 6 year old son (stayed at the Contemporary). We're excited about staying at Animal Kingdom this time, and surprised too that they still had a savannah view studio available for us. I'm SO excited!!

Heather, thanks for posting the FB link again. I'll try not to lose it this time.;)

Can't wait to see the medals - purple is my favorite color too!

Hope you all have a good holiday weekend! Today is our day off, so instead of running or doing strength training, DH cut the grass and I cleaned house. So much for the day off!

As for running clothes, I'm 60 and no longer give a rat's patootie what I look like running. My face will definitely be tomato red, my shorts will be compression, and this summer I was finally persuaded to get a couple tank tops. Nobody screamed at me, hid their eyes, or called the cops, so I guess it's okay.:thumbsup2

You are my hero. :)

Purple is my favorite color and has been since I was a very young child. I was really hoping it would be purple! Can't wait!

I didn't know that so many other people got "tomato face" when they run. Glad to know there are more of us out there. Tomato faces unite!!!!:lmao:

Add me to the list of those who have purple as their favorite color! So glad I decided to do the Princess again this year! :woohoo:

Add me to this club! One thing I LOVED about the Princess was being able to splash my face with water during the race in a real bathroom!

You deserve a BRAVO! Way to go!

Awesome Job on the 5km yesterday ladies!

Long run done, not so good this week, kilometres 3-5 just sucked, really sucked. I kept thinking I would call my ride and move the meeting place, but I am stubborn so;

7.68km (4.73 miles) 1:14, 9:42/km (15:17/mile), even my walking program only gave me 1.5 stars, last week I got 2.5 stars, :( I barely ran at all after 3km. But I can report that I hit tomato face at 22 mins, lol.

So happy that I got out of bed and ran today. I have been a lazy lazy princess. Its a little cooler...yay! A little slow getting going, and no records, but happy to have gotten it done. Some days just getting the run in is something to be proud of. Oh and wore my Wish Princess Bondi with pride!

So jealous of the people getting coast to coast today, but man this summer was a BEAR to train in here...it was so hot. I did just casually mention to my husband maybe next year we could go see grandma in Cali around labor day so I could do the Star Wars 5k LOL. Any excuse!

Happy Sunday!

I will be there! It's always the weekend right before my birthday, I can't think of a better way to celebrate :) This will be princess #3 for me!

I'm SO MAD AT MYSELF!!! I am 9 weeks out for the Savannah 1/2 and I had my tubes tied on Thursday without even thinking it would sideline me for 2 weeks!!!

So frustrated. I am hoping that once I can get back running, I'll have enough time to prepare. I'm a solid runner, but still...

Thank goodness I've got PLENTY of time before the princess!
