I'm still trying to figure out all my details but I did want to add to MamaWolf Jasmine coustume - if you are worried about the long pants you could always do harem pants with side slits - so air could flow - I don't Know about the areodynamics of them as I am new to running but I think it would be much cooler.

I was also thinking about that. :) And as far as aerodynamic... I'm trying not to worry about it. I can be highly competitive with myself and I'm trying not to worry about time just finishing and have a WONDERFUL time doing it. :rotfl:

Question for those who have run... when do you find out your corral placement? At the expo or before?

Generally the buses will run from 5:30 - 6:00 AM. If driving they ask you to be at the start by 6:15.

thanks, yet again, coach! Ummmm, one more question.... Only my 10 yo daughter will be running so am I able to ride the bus and get fairly close to the start with her? I will meet back up with her at the finish line.

You find out at the expo, or at least you did in 2011. I honestly don't remember for 2010 - it might have been included with your bib number.

An email will come with a link to print your waiver, probably about 2-3 weeks before the race, and that will have your bib number. Bib numbers are in numerical order, so you can make a few assumptions on bib number and placement, at least based on years past. For example, a bib in the 200s is likely to be corral A, where a 17,000+ bib number is likely in the last corral.

Yes, you should be able to see her at the start and finish. It's a lot like a local 5k race; well except for having 5-7,000 folks and being at Disney.

Once you get there and you ace comfortable with her in the corral, just walk around the start line and station yourself a few feet past the start.

Likewise for the finish, head over to the bleachers. It shares the same finish and the half. Find a good spot there or walk up course just a bit to the grassy area near the cast member entrance used by the course. The start and finish are within sight of one another.

Pooh :sad2: I was so hoping to find out where I'd be with my time from the 10k. Just in case I wanted to push it for a better placement. :rolleyes1

I don't know if this will help give you some sort of an idea, but for this year's Princess I turned in a 10K time of 1:07 and in turn was given back a 2:15 expected finish time for the half. With that, I was placed in corral B.

I remember you saying this and I'm hoping it's going to be set up the same this time. I did my 10K in 1:03:56 but I do have another 10K in Oct. planned. I just really want to start early. :goodvibes (not as hot later and all that)

Hi, I haven't posted in ages, but loving reading all the excitement with registering. We haven't registered - there are 3 of us going - but still plan to. I can honestly say this running business is harder than we ever thought it would be. One of us has had trouble sorting out her breathing (would almost pass out she would get so dizzy!) and then my cousin had such bad shin splints she was sent to a sports physiotherapist who told her she may never be able to run. But she's getting much better reports lately, and now has hope. The closest I've come to a sports injury yet was almost putting my shoulder out when I got stuck in a sports bra (sadly, that's a true story), but we keep saying I'm next to have trouble!

There's a long standing race happening here in 2 weeks called the Tely 10 that 2 of us have registered for - my cousin is still waiting to get the go ahead from her physio. It's a 10 mile road race (fun run or walk) which we may now end up walking most of, if my cousin is allowed to join us. We've done a few 5k, but this will be our first big race. We'd hoped to be able to interval run most of it (the issues have really fooled up our training), but now we just hope to finish, even if we walk the whole way! How our goals have changed from when we started this insanity - I think what's more insane is that we've kept at it, despite the challenges! But I can honestly say that we are each enjoying running more than we ever thought we would, and are all very surprised at how determined we are to stick with it.

So we'll keep reading along, and shout from the rafters when we get the go ahead to register!

We have DVC and Saratoga Springs is our home resort so we will be staying there. I think we are going to get to Disney on Saturday and stay till Tuesday unless we can firgure out a way to get more points by then.

My daughter will be running her 1st half marathon and making it a girls weekend with sister and friends for the 5k.
We are already planning on our tutus and such. I have been a marathon runner for years and just so happy to be doing a race with my daughter!!!

Yay we've finally booked :cheer2:

We're staying at Cane Island Resort in Kissimmee for 12 nights. We were looking to be near Seaworld but this was a similar price & has 2 separate bedrooms & should give us all a better nights sleep!

right now we're booked at Saratoga Springs (with rented points) but hope to get to move to AKL when the booking window opens.

We'll be arriving Tuesday before the race - but Visiting with Harry Potter first for Tuesday night and wednesday then heading to WDW for Wednesday- Monday
