Official 2012 Princess 1/2 marathon thread part 2

Anyone have an idea how much the DB bags go for? I the big one and MUST take one home with me! Time to scrape up all the loose change I can find!

I bought the large bag at the Tinkerbell Half and it was $198 I believe (or maybe $195). That is the same price basically as that same tote style in other Disney Dooneys. The large bag for the Princess is a different style and that style on the Disney Store website is around $215...so I would figure on that price (at least!).

A princess in need of some advice. Any time change adjustment recommendations for a westerner from Oregon going southeast to Orlando for the princess hm? Thought about taking a late nap on Saturday, the day before the hm and then staying up until after I run it. Good or bad idea? I normally am a night owl and don't get to bed until after midnight PST.

The day before the race should be an easy day, without a lot of walking around. Just nap if you're tired, but don't worry about not sleeping a lot. The pre-race jitters make it difficult for a lot of people to sleep. Catch as much sleep as you can, but the important thing is to be off of your feet and resting your legs.

Is the packet pick-up located at the Official runDisney Merchandise table at the Expo? I'm trying to plan what I want to see there so I'm circling the tables in the program and want to know if that's where I pick up my bibs, commemorative items, etc.

No, the packet pick up and Expo are usually in separate buildings at WDW. Although they do usually have a smaller official merchandise stand in the building with the packet pick up. The full expo and full merchandise shopping area is in the other building though. The buildings are just across a courtyard from each other though.

EDIT: Just looked at the race info and they might be in the same building for this race...packet pick up upstairs and expo downstairs.

The Princess pick up has always been in one building. Far back has been drop off waiver and pick up number then move on to get goodie bag and tshirt. 5k tshirt has been upstairs on way out. Don't know about pins as I haven't gotten any. You can do the expo first then pick up stuff. I'm usually too excited and pick up my number and shirt first.

How do you all like the online goodiebag?

Scion5220 Are you running all the Disney races in one year? That would be a pretty awesome accomplishment.

My plan today was for 12 miles, my last long run. I started out feeling ok, but by mile 3 or 4 I was already breathing really heavy. I don't think I was running any faster than usual, at least my GPS says I was on normal pace. By mile 5 I had such a side stitch that I had to walk for about 10min. I thought I would use that time to eat some of my Cliff bar, but when I checked my pocket, it must have fallen out somewhere along the way. My side stitch went away, but when I started running again, my legs were really tight. I pushed through, but by mile 9.5 I was done. Everything hurt, my shoulders, back, hips, legs, knees, and feet. I had to walk the remaining 1.5 miles home - and of course, it started to snow.

I think I may try to get in 8 or so next week. I don't want to end my training on a low note. I came home, ate, showered and slept for an hour. My legs know I ran, but all is well now. Guess it just wasn't going to be my day today. I wasn't nervous for the race before, but now I'm thinking, "what if that happens on race day?" I'm just trying to stay positive and think of that cool "I did it!" shirt that I just have to have. In just 2 weeks I will be heading to see Mickey!

Sorry to ask again but I can't find it back in the thread - someone mentioned socks they really liked - I didn't pay attention because I thought I was going to wear my compression socks - now I'm worried the compression socks will be too hot and so I might like something with a cushion after all. I think maybe I'm just obsessing a bit too much - anyway, I would love sock suggestions.

Last name is C and I got mine yesterday. I did have to contact them about a month ago when I realized I could not log on to view any of my registration details. Something about not having been logged into my active account when I actually registered for the race. They had to link my email to it and then everything was ok. Just a thought...
