I have done three Disney 5K fun runs. Each of them had characters out cheering and for photo ops along the course.
But no music?

Way to go! Congratulations on not letting anything stop you from doing what you want. I too would have never dreamt I would be able to run a half marathon due to my weight issues. I put my mind to it and was determined to be fit and healthy. Although I still have quite a ways to go, I am well on my way and feel confident that I will finish this race with strength and I will be very proud of this accomplishment..as you should be too!!
Hi,
Is anyone else having problems connecting to the Wine & Dine site? I just tried to register and received an internal server error message. I was able to successfully view the pages for all of the other races and register for the marathon in January without problems.
Thanks!
I had problems yesterday and still can't get it to work today.
I have found a running partner, although, I am sure he is going to regret it, haha... My DD and I are running a local 5K next Saturday so that will be my first race to kick off some serious training! I am having a very hard time staying focused and it is making me crazy![]()
Whee! I am getting more and more excited as we get closer and more people chime in on the thread. Hi Regul8ter! I'm not a heart expert by any means but running has lowered my heart rate by like 20 beats per minute since I started 14 months ago so maybe that's good for folks with a heart condition? Anyway, very cool that you are not letting physical challanges stand in your way.![]()
I was having problems with the after party tickets the other day but have since been able to purchase mine. Also, my party is probably going to switch from Coronado Springs to Port Orleans so we can be at a host resort. Anyone else staying there?
And - MAPS ARE UP!! Just today! Looks like a good route. I hope there is some entertainment while on that stright stretch, which looks kind of boring...
Dangy - I concur with Jean. It will get easier. Just this last week I started averaging 10 minute miles for 6 miles stretches and I never thought I would get there.
Is anyone dressing up for this race? I'm tossing some ideas around, but I want to stay comfortable. If a person is used to 60ish degrees weather when they run, do you recommend short or long sleeves for a Florida October night run?

I'm confused, so I'm hoping someone can clarify for me. Do you get any spectator tickets with registration, because under registration it says "Exclusive after hours party for runners and their families" Do I have to purchase a ticket for my brother? Or will it come with an extra?
Muggy and warm? Oh yeah, it's Florida. I almost forgot.
I was wondering about inclines myself - not so much actual hills or obvious heights, but does anyone know if there are any steady inclines or declines during the half that around over, say, a 1.0 on the treadmill?

I also saw today that it changed on the event details. Instead of the drink tickets, runners now get one wine or beer at the finish line and then the $10 gift card for inside. Did someone else already post this?
