Official 2011 Princess Half Thread Part II!!!

I will be the tall, chubby, slow girl! :)

I am right there with you on the lack of training due to the stress fracture. We can definitely find each other at some point in the weekend so that you can have company (if you want it!).

That will make 2 tall, chubby , slow girls!:rotfl:

Add to that one somewhat tall, chubby, older "girl" who is frantic!! Why, you might ask (as I am sure you are)?? Is it because of her training?? Is it because of all the snow on the ground and freezing temperatures?? NOOOO...
It is because my skirt for my costume has not arrived and we are leaving town tomorrow!! Not to return until after the race!! What to do?? What to do?? I am going to call tomorrow if it does not arrive in the mail tomorrow. At least we are having our mail forwarded but the turn around time is ten days. I (and DD because her skirt is in the same shipment) will be a skirtless basket case for the next two weeks. Oh, well. My own fault for not ordering it sooner. I think that I'd better check with the post office to make sure they forward packages! I am a complete mess. How can I possibly train with this on my mind?? We do have our priorities...

Meg

They haven't sent the waivers yet...I believe the website says to expect them approximately one month before the event. It's just a form that you have to sign and turn in at packet pick-up...I think it just basically releases Disney from liability should you injure yourself during the race, etc, stuff like that. There will also be computer stations and printers at the Expo for you to print them out and sign if you forget to bring yours with you.

Thank you!

Me too!!

I have been shocked that after 8 months of training I could still be chubby...who knew? :scared1: Oh well, I'll eventually run it off!

If it's any consolation, you're not alone! I see differences in the bod, but no where near what I would have thought. Gee, I wonder if it could be the fresh bread I've been baking every night! :rotfl::rotfl:

Please add me to the list of Chubbys!!! Its been 13 months of training for me.
I am still plump and slow... I have 11 miles planned for tomorrow and I am freaking :scared1: :scared1: , I have to do it in the gym on the indoor track and treadmill, I can not run outside, we just had -14 wind chill.

Good Morning Princesses! I'm up and about to get ready for 9 miles this morning...I like to get mine over with at the first sign of light outside...but it's flippin' 24 degrees out according to the weather channel!!! :scared1: I know that might sound relatively warm to alot of you, but this will be the coldest I've run in so far...I'm going to be frozen! Maybe it will make me run faster just so I can get back faster into a hot shower :laughing: Well, good luck with all the long runs today everyone...we only have a handfull left!:cheer2:

36 days! I can't wait!:cheer2:

I've been a little off track lately. I had a bout with the stomach flu. I actually only missed 1 run, but I feel like I haven't been running at all. My 12.5 mile run should have been today, but there is snow falling, and it is currently 7 degrees. I would usually head out to the indoor track for my run, but they are closed this weekend for an indoor marathon weekend. It actually works out pretty well, since I can get an extra short run in today, and run there on Monday with less company on the track. Also, I started my training schedule a week early because I figured that I would have to take a week off somewhere due to injury or illness.

I got my double pouch ifitness belt and I LOVE it. On Wednesday, I took it out for a 3 mile test drive. I loaded my camera and phone, and I didn't even notice it.:woohoo:

I'm still trying to figure out what to do today; I'd like to get 8.5 or 9 miles in today, but it's 8 degrees (not counting wind chill). I might just need to do this run inside. I might wait to see if it warms up a little bit later in the day. Blah! Tomorrow's high is 3!

really trying to get motivated to get out and run. i had hoped on doing another 10 today. we are leaving for WDW tomorrow am and i wanted to get a long run in before we left. it's 14 degrees out and i just can't wrap my mind around it. we have SO much we need to do today including completely empty the whole kitchen as we are having it refaced while we're gone.

anyway, stop typing and go out and run. if i only do 3 miles i will be happy. seriously. it's just too cold. i did 10 last week so a shorter run this week is ok by me :)

My CW-x tights came this week. I did my short run, a 5K, in them last night. I ran 10K on Tuesday, and of course, my tights came Wednesday. My hips have been a little sore since then. They are better today, but I think that's because they've had time to heal some. The real test with my tights will be on my long run this weekend.

I LOVE how they feel. I didn't feel like a jello jiggler when I ran. I was prepared for a little workout trying to get them on, and it was, but it wasn't bad. I went by the sizing chart and they seem to be a perfect fit, 5'6" and 128 pounds and I got a small. Not too tight at all.

Now for my long run....it's -11º out there. The high today is 3º with 10 mph winds. I can't run in that. Tomorrow isn't looking any better, more wind tomorrow. I have good cold weather running gear, but that's cold. I have a treadmill, but I never really thought I'd be faced with running 10 miles on it. I ran 8 miles on it last weekend. I am telling myself that it's just 2 more miles. Running isn't just physical, it's also mental. I have been trying to psych myself up for this run all week. I am thankful that I have a treadmill. Really, I have NO excuse not to run. I bought a new tv for my fitness room a couple weeks ago because I knew I was going to be spending more time on my treadmill.

I do have a couple options. I could go to the Community Center and run laps there. I could attempt 5 miles outside and then immediatley run the last 5 on the treadmill, or I can just do it all on the treadmill.

Post your long runs this weekend and let us know how they went. I am not sure if I am running mine today or tomorrow, but I WILL be running. I hope you all have a great run this weekend.:)

I forced myself to do my 10 mile long run on Wednesday this week. A winter storm was coming in and snow was in the forecast. We got 10 inches, so I'm extra glad I got my run in right before it started. Missouri isn't as prepared to handle snow as further north, so now I'm faced with trying to figure out how to get in ANY kind of run. They hardly plow, so the roads are covered in refrozen slush, ice, and snow. I risk life and limb going for an outdoor run since I have to actually run down the middle of the road. What to do? What to do?

forget it guys, i just did 2.2 miles and thought i was going to die. i couldn't feel anything! took my clothes off to take a shower and every inch of my body was bright red!

will do better next time!

I'm supposed to do 10 miles this weekend, but the roads are still snowy and icy from the last wave of snow that came through, and we're getting more tomorrow! I did 8 on the treadmill last week and was bored to tears. I have no idea how I'm going to get my 10 in this weekend!

I'm impressed that you even tried to run in this weather. It's indoor runs for me!

Sorry you didn't get in what you wanted to, but I'm SO glad you posted that...i came home this morning from doing 9 (it was 24 degrees when i started...little crystals formed on my eyelashes!!!), stretched a bit and went to jump in the shower...I looked like a cherry!!!! TOTALLY freaked me out! :scared1: I guess it was from the cold...and I'm not used to temps like that...and my thighs and touchie were like ice blocks!!! But I made it through the 9...bettering my time by 3 mintues from last week's 9 miler...1:42:01...I was pretty pleased with that as my average pace stayed under my norm. Next weekend is the dreaded double-digit 10 miler....my first....trying not to start psyching myself out already :) Unfortunately I've got a full day today...wish I could crawl back in bed, but I have to get out the door ASAP...good luck getting the runs in everyone! Oh forgot to say...so cool...I ran over a wooden bridge today...and the second time over it the sun was shining and all the ice crystals on it looked like sparkling pixie dust...so pretty!

Huge Kudos to all of you outside runners!! I'm in awe :worship:

Between the cold and the 5 foot snowbanks and unclear sidewalks, I bit the bullet and did another long run on the TM. I was planning 12 but just got to 11.25. Have to share that the key thing for me today was that I brought my husband's iPad to the gym and watched a movie that I'd downloaded last night; best $3.99 ever! The first 75 minutes flew by. After that, the next 55 minutes (I'm pretty slow...) dragged. My friend came and ran next to me for the last 30, without her, I would have quit even earlier. Glad it is done. So hoping next week I can go back outside. This year's training seems much harder weather-wise.

Have a great weekend. I hope everyone can get some running in, no matter how short...we just need to rack up the miles; even 3 3-milers is better than no 9 miler.

~~~Jennifer~~~
I love the outdoors & hate the TM. Cold is fine but wind is just too much. And by cold, I mean 20s, MAX. You Princesses running out there in teens and below are just absolutely amazing.:cool1:
I did 10 last week on the DREADmill while watching Bob the Builder (with my 2 year old). I seriously thought I was going to crack. If its over 25 out tomorrow I might try to do another 10 outside, but otherwise it's back on the machine for an exercise in patience.:scared1:
Got CW-X tights this week too. Can't wait to try 'em!
Got a very cold, very hilly 9 miler in this morning. I feel terrible, too. Feel like there is a weight on my chest and I keep coughing. I can feel the congestion in my chest. Ugh. I hate running sick!
