Official 2011 Princess Half Thread Part II!!!

We're staying at the BW as well this trip. When I was down at Disney in October for the wine and dine half, I took the bus from the Poly since it was simple to get there from MK. That's what we'll probably do to get to the expo again. For the race, we'll most likely take a taxi. We were thinking about renting a car, but now that someone mentioned the regular park buses running by the time we finish, it would make sense to me to just take a taxi to the start and the bus back to the Boardwalk. I know there is another thread about getting to the start from the BW, so if we can all hook up, it would be super cheap for us all to pile in one of those taxi vans to the start. Just a thought...

Did you guys get the e-mail from rundisney today?? I know this isn't my first time doing this race but clicking on the Race Program link and seeing that 91% full notice got me very excited  and yet very nervous too :scared1:!!

Now, don't panic girls (and boys ;)) we've still got lots of time to get ready. Stay steady in your training but GET EXCITED!!!

Headed to the gym to do 11 on the dreadmill in the morning...hoping I get a TM with a personal TV so I can pass the time with the Today Show, Ellen or Regis & Kelly or some other mindless entertainment!

Thanks for alerting us! I immediately checked my e-mail. Big fun!

Question: even though I submitted proof of time from a 10K I did, worst case scenario is that I am in the last corral. Since you have to be there at 5:00 and the last corral doesn't start until 6:25 (ugh!) - what do you do?!?!??! I know you hop around to stay warm, but I am assuming that, this being Disney, there will certainly be some kind of entertainment or something? (Please?!?!) :rolleyes1 My head will explode if I am all jacked up for this race and have to stand there for over an hour!!!!!:scared1:

They really don't have much to do while waiting, you have to just stand there and try to stay warm. You can listen to all the other corrals going off, but you don't have much to do until you walk up to the start line. It seemed most of the people in the last corral I was with were all people that did not supply proof of time for a previous race.

I'd be interested in sharing the cost of a taxi! I'm going to try and find the other thread as well. Keep me posted though :)

Hey all,

I just did the Disney half, and I'm thinking about ordering a sparkle skirt and doing the princess half this year, too! Does anyone know if they are hand wash or machine wash? I didn't see anything on the website.

Good luck with your training, everyone! I'm planning on signing up in the next couple of days, if all goes well!

i'm trying to get myself pumped up to do 10 miles today. reeeeally not looking forward to it!!

can someone help me with proof of time? i saw that you'd have to bring your time with you to the expo if you haven't submitted by 12/27. what exactly entails bringing a proof of time?

i think i will be able to finish under 2:45 but can't find any races to do to prove it. i don't want to be in A or anything, i just don't really want to be in the very last one.

i guess it doesn't really matter though since we're all running the same race.

OK, same concerns here! Once you're in your corral at 5:00, you CAN sneak out to the porta-potties, right?????

I'm also still looking for someone to drive over with me from Fort Wilderness...or I could also pick someone up at Port Orleans or OKW, since I'm thinking that I'll be taking Bonnet Creek Pkwy to get to Epcot. I'm just thinking that I'd like to have a buddy to pass the time and share the anticipation with at "o'dark thirty"!

Anyone who drove themselves in the past know which roads are closed and which are open in the early morning before the race?

Received my tutus in the mail today...woohoo....but mine was too big, I need a kids size  So I need to order another one :headache: But I tried on DD's and it looks cute!

So there is a Princess Meetup on the Friday that is being set up on Facebook. If anyone wants to meetup please come. Here are the details:

Date: Friday February 25, 2011
Time: 4:00pm
Where: Downtown Disney - exact location TBA

Does anyone want to come?

I will have my mini princess with me since hubby will be off scuba diving

Does anyone have a link to the race program? I haven't received any emails lately, even though I registered in October, and I didn't see any links on the runDisney website.

The big day is getting close!
