Just a reminder, if you're coming into MCO on 2/25, your 180 day ADR reservations can be made as of yesterday!

This coming Sat. (Sept. 4th) I am running (and walking) my first 5k. I am so excited and nervous I can hardly stand it. Since I am like this for a 5k - I can't imagine what I will be like for the Princess half.

My Sat. run was horrible and coming on here and reading about everyone's amazing runs made it even harder. I am excited for all of you, but boy did I struggle. When I got home I just started sobbing and had visions of the course being picked up for my 5k and not knowing where to go. :rotfl: I even called the race organizers and asked if there was a required pace because I am so slow. They assured me that there would be casual walkers and I should be fine.

Thanks for all your advice and encouragement. When I started on June 2nd, I couldn't run for a minute without thinking I was going to die! I have learned so much from all of you and can't wait to learn more over the next 6 months!

Merci

I've already decided that my celebratory dinner after the race is going to be a gigantic cheeseburger. :woohoo: I refuse to eat one until after the race...I think the last one I had was at WDW this past March! But it was a quick, counter service one...can anyone recommend a good place at WDW to get a really good one? I'm planning some other celebratory meals over the entire trip too...must hit Primetime Diner and Kouzzina!

Beaches & Cream!

I'm doing a day at the pool at Kidani post-race, followed by a combination birthday/"you ran how far?!" dinner at 'Ohana. Really hoping I can appreciate all that food by the time dinner rolls around.

We'll be doing post-race lunch at the Mexico pavilion at EPCOT, for a specific reason. Last March, our last day at WDW was the day of the Princess Half. I was so jealous of all the lovely ladies with their medals. My partner decided he wanted to eat at Mexico for our last meal... without an ADR!

Well, we got there and asked about a table for 2, and were told they were booked for the ENTIRE day. Just then, though, the people behind us in line told us they were there to CANCEL their lunch ADR, for 2 people!

It was at that lunch that I decided that if all those women could run, so could I. Never mind that I couldn't run 30 seconds at a time! I was going to run a HM at WDW.

Hi all!

This info may have been posted before, but I just don't have the endurance  to wade through all 3 million posts in this thread!

DH and I are thinking about running the Princess. So for those of you who run with your significant other, do you register individually, or as a two-person team? Are there any advantages to doing it one way versus the other?

Thanks!

It depends on your goals... If you both are upper half age groupers (1:45 range) and are looking for hardware, then the team may be the way to go. Otherwise it really does not matter.

Oh gosh, no! This will be my first half, and unless he decides otherwise, dh's second (he did the Marathon weekend half this past Jan). I'm going to be excited to just finish in an upright position.

Okay, so I guess we'll just do individual registrations unless someone else chimes in with a compelling reason for doing a team registration.

Thanks for the reply, cewait!

great work everyone! we are all SO doing this!! :cool1:

really proud of myself for getting up at 5:15 this morning and running 4 miles! the plan said to run 3.5 but i wound up doing 4 in 42.5 minutes. woot woot!

thing i didn't like? running in the dark. i was on the main ave but it was still a little creepy - i was very happy whenever a bus came by and even more thrilled once the sun came out.

updated my blog too: tiarathon.blogspot.com :)

I am so happy and excited to share with everyone about my personal best so far. I did my workout at 4:30 theis morning...the plan called for a 40 min workout. If you recalled I have mentioned the horrible change of the 2:2 (that was tourture.) So I decided instead of following the plan of 3 min walk / 1 min run. I did 3:2 (3 min walk / 2 min run) I didn't feel nearlyt as tired, I think the extra min of recovery walking helped.

Anyways in 40 min. I completed 3.6 miles wit ha a pace of 11:07............YAY! I was only looking to get down to a 12min a mile, but that just made my day :)

Yesterday morning I ran a 5k. I ran it in about 32:01 I think. (I know it was almost 32:00 even) This is not my fastest 5k but just running the race yesterday was big for me because I just finished antibiotics for whooping cough. I did promise myself that I would walk if my breathing became a problem and I only had to stop once for a walk break. So I'm pretty happy with that time considering I just came back from three weeks off and whooping cough.

This has me excited to really get back into my training and looking ahead to the Princess because I really believe I can shave time off both my 5k (and probably even my half marathon time) as I train.

That's FANTASTIC! :cheer2:

You go Dumbo! :thumbsup2 I'm inspired! I keep trying to drag my sorry rear out of bed at that hour and haven't been able to do it. So, I end up going after work when I've eaten too much for lunch, am in a rush, etc. and end up feeling nauseous and defeated. Ugh.

That's it!! Tomorrow is the day!! I'm doing 5 at 5!:yay:
