I submitted my proof of time for the regular half after I'd registered. I did get confirmation that they'd received it and that I'd been placed in the 2:45 corral.

Just curious to see if anyone out there may be looking for a running/walking buddy? My awesome friend Shawna who ran with me this year isn't planning to do next year's Princess and of course I'm really sad. Just wondering if there was anyone who might like to partner up with me? My plan is to do a run/walk combo, so with that being said, I'm not very fast!

Luckly the fall down the stairs only jarred some muscles, I swam last night and they seem to have worked themselves out!
I haven't been brave enough yet to book my flight, I'm really hoping fares will drop or something. A few months ago JetBlue had a great flight for me, but I decided to wait, and now I think I'm going to be paying for that mistake...
Where is everyone staying for the 1/2? I'll be at All-Star Movies!
Oh Ladies, Im in a bit of a funk. Unfortunately, Im having major issues with my body in general guess that is what happens as we get older.
Does anyone know what might be wrong with my feet? It isnt my arches at all (I have very high arches and have inserts and good running shoes from a running specialty store). It is just the central area of the balls of my feet. I could barely walk on the front of my left foot a few days ago.
I sent an email today to provide a 10K proof of time for the race I did over the weekend to adjust my expected finish time for the Princess Half...has anyone else done this yet? If so, did you get any sort of confirmation back from them saying the info was recieived and maybe what they adjusted your expected finish time to?
thanks! Hopefully I'll get some sort of confirmation in the next couple of days. I'm kind of curious what they will project my time to be...not that I'm very fast or anything, but I finished my 10k a full 2 minutes faster than I ever have doing that distance in training...even with the 4 major inclines that were in the race...so I was pretty pumped about that! I ended up with a time of 1:07:03.
OH MY...I can so relate to the body issues and feeling old. I feel like I hit 40 and became aware of so many parts of my body not working like they used to! Can't imagine what would be happening if I hadn't started exercising
As far as your feet...my friend had Metatarsalgia...I think it's just a completely ridiculous name for "soreness in the ball of your foot" but she had to have custom orthotics made. They made a huge difference! As so many have said on this board...you know your bofy, if something feels "npt right", it probably isn't. If your feet keep hurting I'd see a doctor. I think the recommendation around here is to see a Sorts Doc...they usually are more likely to try to get you back to your running. Just my thoughts...
Thanks, Jennifer! I took your advice and made an appt to see an orthopedic dr who specializes in sports medicine. I think he is a runner. He did my ACL replacement surgery in August 2009, and I really liked him. We'll see what he has to say...
In an attempt to overcome my funk, I called Disney and booked a sports massage at the Grand Floridian for the afternoon of the race. I'm just going to keep forging ahead with "confidence" that I will be able to run and finish the race! Here's to the power of positive thinking!!!And I'm going to do my 3 mile training run tomorrow, unless the dr tells me not to.
You are welcome to run with me! I also do a run/walk combo, usually 1 min run 1 min walk. I am not fast and will probably average a 13mm at best.
There may be more people in my group but there is always room for one more!!![]()
my 15K time was not good enough for a placement, but they still sent me an email back saying the updated me.
UGAfan, I am a run walker too, but I do it my milage, run a mile, walk .25 ish.
I am slow 14.25 pace. As Kat said there is always room for a running buddy!!!
Lots of you are talking about finding out your corral placements. If I submitted my proof of time when I registered, does that mean I will just have to wait until packet pick-up to find out my corral placement? If so, bummer...maybe I should have waited and sent it in at a later time.

COOLEST THING EVER DONE: Watching my son perform with the Ohio State University Marching Band for 5 years while my husband announced for the band.

I hope flights come down a bit for you. Dont know where you are flying in from but www.farecaster.com is a great resource to tell you if fares will go up or down over the next 7 days; they are usually pretty accurate (only for major cities I think though). The Princess Half is the last Sunday of our school vacation week so we couldn't even get out of Orlando to Boston on that Sunday and Monday prices were crazy, ended up staying til Tuesday. So...2 extra days off for the kids and 2 extra days at Disney...no complaints here!
I didn't get my corral placement when I submitted my time. I just got a new predicted finish time. When I registered I put a 3:00 finish time since I had no race to submit. After I ran my 10k, I submitted my results and Disney updated my predicted finish time to 2:20. Now, based on research from last years race and the wine and dine half, I THINK I'll be in corral c or d, but I won't find out until I get there. I think a lot also depends on how many people submit faster times than me (due to corral size).
Oh, and I am 99% positive I won't make 2:20. I'm thinking I'll probably be closer to 2:40.
Question--- what was your proof? Did you just email them the time and race name and they took that? I have a friend running that has a great 10K time, but it wasn't chip timed in her name. My husband couldn't run- so she ran in his bib (I know, I know) So it comes up under his name but not hers. We were wondering if she can still submit or what they need as proof?
