Sounds great! I will be looking forward to having some company! Im hoping that having company will help keep me in the game! I wish we all lived closer! We could do a "trial" run!
Cool! I'm south-west of Toronto!
Yeah, I think mostly it'll be indoor training for me. I'm figuring about 3 hours is almost 2 Disney movies. If nothing else, I can jus listen to two movies to get myself through it....
Cool....there are some really good races out that way. The Mercedes 10K in Oakville was really good (and you can win a Mercedes...LOL...whats better than that), the Mississauga Marathon (I did the 10K this year, its a gorgeous run by the lake) and the Niagara Marathon (I did the half, another gorgeous course). Check them out next year! I have reviews of those and other races on my blog....feel free to take a look:

well some good news finally! i went to a sports med foot doctor today. he thinks my foot issue is a temporary one and that i can get back to running soon! he told me my shoes suck (saucony, not sure which though) and suggested i go to the westchester road runner place to get fitted with proper shoes. he mentioned nike pegasus might be a good option for me. or adidas.
he told me that my right leg is significantly shorted than my left leg. weird! he put some different insoles in my shoes and had me run a little on the treadmill to see how i felt.
so, he's having me take a short term treatment of an anti-inflammatory and said to just do brisk walking for the next week. after that, only short runs. and i'm going back in two weeks to see where we're at.
hurrah! a plan!
Good news about your foot!Saucony has a 60 day money back guarantee -- don't know when you got your shoes but if they are new maybe it's not a total loss.
i've had them for a while now. oh well. that's good info to know though! thanks!
Do you know how many miles you've put on them? That might be half the problem. My Mizunos had about 400 miles on them when they had to be replaced this weekend.
I've heard rumours that shoes are supposed to be 'good for' around that distance. Most place will also accept refunds/exchanges if you haven't run outside. I'm probably replacing mine this week due to similar issues (wrong supports for my foot type) and the specialty store says 30 days and not worn outside. New Balance said no time limit and not worn outside when I returned shoes there.![]()
I'd encourage you to look at the photos on the Facebook group. That's what I did to figure out what colours they were (I love Ariel, but the green is a little iffy for me) so you know what you want if you're matching. lol I'm all about matching.
which facebook group? if you don't mind...
Wow, you bloodied them even? That just sounds dangerous! lol

400 miles is really pushing the upper limits of how long to keep a running shoe. Most people I train with retire theirs at 250-300 miles. Personally, I bring a new pair into rotation when the old pair has 200 miles on them, and get rid of the old pair when they hit 300 or when I can feel the cushioning has given out.
Not everyone can afford to replace them that often.
That's where race expos can come in handy. The running stores and other vendors there often are trying to clear out the current year's models to make room for next year's. I bought two pairs of my Asics at the San Antonio marathon expo this past Sunday for $70 each. That's a great deal for a shoe that normally sells for $135. I know the vendors at the Disney expos offer similar deals too. Many local specialty running stores also offer clearance and other sales to move old inventory. For me, I'd rather cut back spending in other areas and hit the sales to get new shoes when I need them than put too many miles on them and risk getting injured. Everyone's situation is different, of course. This is just what I do.![]()
