I can't answer all those (not having been myself yet) but I think from what I've seen on Facebook and other groups that the bibs are different colours, not the shirts?

And yeah, Cinderella is blue/baby blue and Ariel's a tealish green. I know when you pick your princess in the regsitration (I filled it out but didn't submit because I'm still sorting out plans too) you can see what the options are. There's more this year than last, is my understanding too.

mermaid&cinderella, I haven't registered yet, either. Waiting to hear about the NYC Half, first. (it's a lottery)

You're going to run sub-2 AND take photos at the mile markers? You are amazing.

Thank you.....I like that I get to pick the bib colour to match my outfit ;) Good to know, thanks!

I'd encourage you to look at the photos on the Facebook group. That's what I did to figure out what colours they were (I love Ariel, but the green is a little iffy for me) so you know what you want if you're matching. lol I'm all about matching.

Good luck with getting into the NYC Half!

I do a sub 2 now and all my training up to the Princess Half will be to try to help my time so that I can still take pics ;) That's the plan but I know if there is a long line at some of them I won't be waiting as I see teh clock tick away....LOL I need to remember this is a fun race ;)

OMG I still haven't resgistered, still trying to figure out all the travel plans. I better do it soon ;)

A few questions for the ones that ran this before. Okay here it goes:

1 - After you finish the race, is there an awards ceremony? Is it at a certain time? Is there any other type of celebration after the fact?

2 - I asked #1 because I was wondering what does everyone do after the race? And at what time? I was thinking of going for a nice meal but at what time for the ressie and where? Help :confused3

3 - ALso someone mentioned that the shirt you get depends on the princess you say is your favourite on the registration, is that true? Are the shirts different colours? If so is Cinderella blue, Ariel green, etc, etc?

4 - Is anyone running a sub 2 hours that would like to run together and take each others pics at the photo op stations? Let me know!

Okay I think that's all my questions for now. Thanks ahead!

1) I did not see an awards ceremony, but then again I would never win an award so I never notice that kind of thing.

2) The ressie for a nice meal would depend on your anticipated finish time. I would allow at least an hour on the back end to get your medal, get your official finish picture, get some food, pick up your gear bag, and find your way back into Epcot (race ended last yr in Epcot parking lot). If you are planning on headed back to shower first and then out to park or resort, I would allow for that on top of the hour.

3) The race shirt is one color and style, not based on your princess, or at least it wasn't last year and I would doubt highly they will change that. Disney in general seems to be removing perks at their events rather than adding them. Anyhow, you shouldn't wear the race shirt until after you finish the race! Bad form! :)

4) I am far from sub 2, or otherwise you would be welcome to join my group!

I'm training all by myself also... If your in maryland, i'd love a partner but WARNING... I'M SLOW:rolleyes1 (14 min miles) I'm working and my goal is to try to stay between 12 - 13 min miles.... :cheer2:

I would love to meet people that have been my advice givers at the race! I really appreciate all the input from everyone and I look forward every day to logging in and seeing comments! It makes me feel like i'm not alone! :lovestruc

I thought that they hand you a medal right away, after you cross the finish line. Right?

If it ends at Epcot parking lot, then I would want to catch a bus back to the hotel.

My run went okay today. I think it will take me 2 1/2 hours to run the princess, if I don't stop for pictures.

When I ran on the treadmill at home, I put stuff around me to motivate me. I bought myself a 13.1 necklace and kept it in a box until I ran a full 13.1. It took a few months, but it really kept me going.

I have a little Webkinz reindeer jogger figurine with a medal hanging on it's neck.

I think I will print some Disney Princess Marathon pics and put a couple of them up.

This is a website with some good stretches for after running. I will not do any kneeling ones. This video has one and I will not do it. All of the other stretches are right on!

12-13 min miles sounds perfect! I will probably be running right along side of you! :)

Princess Half Marathon is now at 65% full!!! :scared1:

Yeah, I need to get my butt in gear, hammer out my plans, and register! The date isn't up to date on the website (still says October 8) but I suspect it's close to 70-75 percent by now.

Kensgirl, I'd love to run the race with you if you want the company. I do all my training on the treadmill due to weather (OMG I love Canada, but I hate our weather) but I suspect I'll be around your pace too (I'm averaging around 11:50 a mile but I hear treadmills are easier to run, but factor in heat as well and I should be about there too). I look forward to having others to talk to about this (my b/f is tired of hearing about it) and running alone in another country is scary!

Saylan, where in Canada are you?

I hear you on our weather. I ran a race 2 weekends ago and I said I was done with races until the spring.....bbbbbrrrrr it was frosty:eek: Threadmill it is for me for the next months ahead!

I'm doing treadmill runs right now as well. I have heard from other posts that outside can be easier for some.... I do get bored REALLY easy.... like super easy.... so I have to always keep something on my mind or something to look at. How sad is it that I plan my training around shows on tv that I can watch while I'm running??? :rotfl2:

I have found if i watch biggest loser, it gives me the push to go! Our treadmills at our gym have built in TVs.... guess for people like me.

I would LOVE to have company! My biggest fear is holding someone up, so if i'm going to slow.... feel free to ditch me! :rotfl:

Is anyone also doing any kind of weight training or swimming in their training program?

So when you say sub-2 hr race...do you mean 1:30? or 1:59:59? :confused3Big difference in those two.
My top goal is to break 2 hours
2nd goal is to do 2:05 (I know I'm supposed to be having fun at this race, but admit it everyone--we will all be looking at the clock and timing ourselves)
3rd goal is to just cross the finish line (with tons of pics)

I'm sure I can accomplish at least one of these goals!!;)

I'd love people to run with for the race. I'm racing and training alone on this one.

I'm near Toronto. Well 'near', it's just easier to say near Toronto, but I'm a couple hours out from there. Where in Ont are you?

Yeah I haven't even made it out to race, it just got too cold too fast and I wasn't ready for running when it was nice (my own fault for finding out about things so late).

I've heard it both ways. Treadmills make it easier cause you don't have to push off, but outside it flies by due to movement of surroundings. Only way to know for sure is to try I guess?

lol I watch T.V. too. I've been known to drag out my cool downs or runs to catch the end of a show. I find music video stations (playing music, not rap or what have you) motivate me. I can't do comedy, otherwise I laugh an screw up my breathing rhythm.

You're totally welcome to ditch me too! I know I'm going to be a slow one as well.

I'm doing training actually. I had a personal trainer all summer (my last session was yesterday but considering getting more). It's a lot o fun and I find it helps me with my core work which is vital for me to run properly with my meed up knee.

I'd love to just make it across and under 3 hours. Anything more than that is gravy! Welcome to the loners club! We can all be loners together. :rotfl:

trust me, i have found myself laughing out loud at the gym at a show because I have my headphones on and forget where i'm at..... embarrassing!

:rolleyes1

I do that too! The one time I couldn't stop myself from laughing horribly loud. The stares are so embarassing. I also find I try to dance/move my arms & hands to the songs on the video stations. I must look rediculous. :sad2:

Just a sub 2....LOL.....my last 2 half marathons were 1:58 but I am hoping to help that time these next few months with some interval training....we will see. And I am sure you will make your goals!:thumbsup2

l:

I am just over an hour north west of Toronto. You have the spring to look forward to but ofcourse after the Princess half

Cool! I'm south-west of Toronto!

Yeah, I think mostly it'll be indoor training for me. I'm figuring about 3 hours is almost 2 Disney movies. If nothing else, I can jus listen to two movies to get myself through it....

I'd love to run with you also. I am training alone, as usual. My friends have no interest whatsoever.

I love watching the Biggest Loser too. It motivates me into working out at home and at the gym.

I have to run in the mornings, otherwise I just get too tired.

I still have a family to take care of and it takes a lot of energy keeping up.

I have a tv in front of the treadmill, but no vcr,dvr stuff. Boy, I think I need one to watch movies too! I watch the Doctors show at 10 a.m. or Regis and Kelly or weather channel while the music is on. I can pause the music if something good comes on.

I see Saturday morning will be like Florida 35 in morning and 50 at it's warmest. So, I will run outside on Saturday. I will be thinking of you girls.

When I trained for the Detroit 1/2. I ran mostly on the treadmill. Some on a rubber track at the gym and two days a week outside for a few months to get my bones accustomed to the hard pavement.
I did well and have no injuries. I love the treadmill because it cushions the blow. The rubber track is great for weaving around walkers.

I wish for the Princess 1/2 that walkers would stay to the right and let the runners pass on the left. That would make it so much easier for me. In the Detroit, I had to weave around walkers so much, that I swear I ran more than 13.1 by the time it was over.
