Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

Just ordered our tickets for Sept 27th and 30th! We're so excited!! Last year's was a blast - money well spent!!

I was just reading the thread about rude / entitled behavior at parades.
Have to say it made me a little nervous about the MNSSHP parade, which is the highlight of the party for so many people.

Any suggestions / tips on viewing spots that are not so crowded but still offer decent views?

Also whats a good estimate on how early to get there for a front row spot?

First MNSSHP. First WDW trip. DS is 4.

thanking in advance for any help you can provide.

Many people like hanging out in Frontierland, near where the parade starts. There are a few areas with benches near the sidewalk, although, some people might try to sit on the sidewalk edge in front of you. There is also some good places around Main Street. When you first are hanging around MK, I would look at the parade route on the map and think about where you would like to be for the parade.

I plan on saving a spot for my family about 45min before the parade starts. It might need to be longer if you are going around Halloween night. Just see how busy it is and judge for yourself.

The target near my house didn't have the halloween shirt, but it did have a cute v-neck classic mickey shirt.

I will check another target tomorrow.

I picked up these tank tops while I was there and put this Mickey Ghost on them today, so I will wear this at some point of our trip!

I sized up as well, I do think it's a juniors. That's what I told myself anyway :goodvibes

LOL I bought the shirt. It was in the graphic tee section like mentioned previously and I saw a few other Halloween shirts around and a I heart Minnie Mouse shirt. It seems to be almost junior size? or maybe just fitted, but I bought a size up because I hate wearing anything tight at WDW.

I wonder how many of us are going to buy the shirt :rotfl:

Got home from work a little while ago. Girl in soft lines said we haven't set our Halloween stuff out yet. So no shirt for me, yet. I'm sure these will be in juniors. The screen prints always are. The next size up is usually tight too. However the Halloween shirt I bought there last year fit pretty well after I stretched it over a laundry basket for an hour before wearing it. :rotfl:

I've got the girls ready to call me when they set the shirts out. I will be so upset if I don't get one.

Ok. I really need help with this... :confused3. We will be there oct 4-14 this year from az. We tend to go to wdw during fall break and my kids always want to go to the party. However, I have a REALLY hard time shelling out the extra 230$ considering we already pay for the 10day passes. Also, a couple of years ago we went to dlr's party and it was a NIGHTMARE! No pun intended. 45 min lines for candy, hour long lines for characters and wall to wall people. And this was beginning of October. Nowhere even near Halloween. So is it worth it? Especially if you already have tickets for the day? I just don't know....

Did you go on a weekend when locals wouldn't have been working? I heard MNSSHP here in WDW can be quite managable, with a good plan. The cost is up to you. I have never been, but EVERYONE I have talked says it is worth it. There is still halloween decor and merchandise to enjoy during regular park hours at MK.

So... my DBF and I are not really costume people. But while planning our very first WDW trip and MNSSHP, I am suddenly getting the urge to dress up! (it could also be the influence of this thread!)

Would it be weird if I dressed up and DBF doesn't? It's just the two of us on this trip.

No I wouldn't think that is weird. We are going to the MNSSHP the 27th and on the 31st. I think on the 27th I am going in costume while my husband is prob just gonna wear shirt and a short..but on the 31st I got my hubby to agree to wearing matching mickey mouse club tee shirts and mouse ears.

so go ahead get dressed up and have some fun! how often do you have the opportunity to wear a fun halloween costume in the magic kingdom. If you want to get dresssed up i wouldnt let the opportunity pass you by.

Yes, yes and yes! I am a super frugal person and I have to say that MNSSHP is awesome!!! We go for the parade, the villians, the atmosphere, the guests in costumes, the candy, the photo-ops, but mostly we go because it is one more chance for 3 adults to be kids again. We generally are there mid to late Sept. so the crowds are minimal and stay to the very end of the party to maximize the low lines on rides. It looks by your pics that your kids are old enough to enjoy every aspect without crashing in the stroller. As for park tickets, we spend the morning in another park (like AK - we don't need naps) then dress up and head over to MK, so we feel like we are really going to something special. I happen to enjoy walking around in costume prior to the party starting. As a naturally shy person, I can get out of myself and into character. My girls - not shy and they love the attention from other guests.

I love that shirt and here I am not able to go to Target since the Govenor has said for everyone to stay in once it gets dark because of Irene coming....darn darn darn. :rotfl2:
Stay home & stay safe!! The shirt will still be there next week. If not just wait a few days & more will probably show up on the truck.
Shrit won't do you any good if you get hurt, or worse, trying to get out & get it in the middle of a hurricane.

We are there 10/1 - 10/7 :wave2:
Last time I checked Touring Plans crowd calendar, for our dates that overlap it is showing general resort wide crowds of 1 to 4. I don't know about the 8th to 14th.

The scary crowd #s are Epcot -- probably because of F&W. If you look at 10/6 & 10/7 (both MNSSHP nights I think) the crowd is 1.1 for MK both days. So looking at the combination of anticipated crowd #'s & knowing how much F&W may pull people over I would say go for it.

I posted on another thread but am wondering...I was told tonight by a lady at BBB (on the phone making reservations) that you cannot get until 7:00 with the MNSSHP ticket, that you would have to have regular park admission that day. the only reason I care is becuase Disney made a mistake and only gave us 5 day PH tickets instead of 6 and I'd have to upgrade to 6 for that day just for the two hours between my BBB appointment and 7;00 which to me seems stupid for six people. Thoughts? Does she just not know or are CS people told not to give out that information or is she just plain wrong?? She said the same was true last year.....

is that she is wrong, but as soon as the first party takes place, we will start hearing reports of early entry and whether or not it is still 4pm.:thumbsup2
