Official 2011 MNSSHP Party Planning Thread ..BOO to You and You..Happy Halloween!

I posted on another thread but am wondering...I was told tonight by a lady at BBB (on the phone making reservations) that you cannot get until 7:00 with the MNSSHP ticket, that you would have to have regular park admission that day. the only reason I care is becuase Disney made a mistake and only gave us 5 day PH tickets instead of 6 and I'd have to upgrade to 6 for that day just for the two hours between my BBB appointment and 7;00 which to me seems stupid for six people. Thoughts? Does she just not know or are CS people told not to give out that information or is she just plain wrong?? She said the same was true last year.....

You can get in at 4:00pm. Phone CM's are notorious for not knowing what they are talking about, or that might be what she has to say "officially", but many people get there at 4pm for the party.

I've already seen some pics of halloween decor, but I heard Halloween decor officially starts going up tomorrow....so excited, please post pics if your going early September :)

I am attending the party September 20th. Excited but sad they don't do the story telling anymore. Do they tell the story of the Headless Horseman in Liberty Square?

You realize that with a post like that, you're going to be VERY popular in a couple of days, right? Not that folks around here are starving for intel on how to plan their party nights or anything :rolleyes1

Assuming that we will be able to get in at 4p as in past years, are you allowed to wear costumes at that point or do we have to bring them and put them on (adults) at 7p when the party officially begins. If I have to carry mine around for 3 hours I will probably just nix the idea of costumes for the adults in our party.

I can't wait for intel on the parties this year! We go 9/30 and I want to PLAN!!! :) We've never been before!

She is almost certainly wrong. I can tell you for a fact that last statement is wrong.

We all go through this exact same information cycle every year.

I'm excited for the party. I'm sure I'll wear some some sort of costume. But, I found this T- shirt at Target that will be worn sometime during the trip!

Found this at our Super Target today (sizes were limited, said they expect to get more in), but the regular Target didn't have it in stock. Great tee for $10!
Just FYI - you can't tell from this pic, but it has a pretty deep scoop neck.

LOL!!! Feel free to ask me anything after the 20th. I will try to get on here afterwards and reply to questions.

You may enter the park wearing your costume at 4pm. There is no reason for a change of clothes unless your costume is deemed inappropriate by the gate cm's which is the same problem you would have at 7pm with said costume. There is discussion every year over denying early entry, but it is for a practical purpose. Imagine up to 25,000 trying to get through the gates for a special event that they paid a premium for at the same time. NOT happy guests. This helps the flow and alot of people have no idea that you can enter early, so those in the know are already through the gates and in line for dwarves or whatever.

You know, I hadn't thought about the logistics. Good point! I am going as Mother Gothel with my kids as Rapunzel and Flynn. No weapons, no masks, no slutty attire. So we should be good to go!

Thanks for the info!

I'll have to check my Target's (there are three near me) for that shirt. That would be perfect for me for the Party! I think one of them is considered a "Super" Target and I think my DH passes one on the way home from work! LOL I may have to send him out too!!

We are doing the same characters! Please post photos when you have your costumes ready, I am dying to see everyone who will be going as these characters!

First year for the MNSSHP for us! Way excited! I need costume help though! DD is going as Mary Poppins, she wants DH to go as Bert, and wants me to go with the theme too but I have no idea what to do. Her suggestions have been a penquin (since they will be in Jolly Holiday outfits but who wants to walk around MK in a penquin costume?!) or the bird lady LOL I thought about wearing a "Vote for Woman" costume though but will people understand??? I also asked her if I got be Cruella De Vil, but she siad no it's doesn't fit in her their costumes.

I like the vote for women idea :cutie: If you wear blue and yellow with the outfit too it will make since I think. I would recognize it :cutie:

I'll be taking my two 4 year old grandkids to MNSSHP this year and wanted to ask a question about the candy - they will love trick-or-treating through the park, but will in no way need to have most of the candy they will gather - is there a way to let them enjoy getting the candy, but give it back later in the night? I don't want to be wasteful, but with concern about tainted candy, I understand that putting it back wouldn't necessarily be "safe".

Any suggestions?

I would SO be thrilled to see anyone dressed up as Mrs. Banks!!! Don't worry, I'm sure you'd be suprised at how many people would recognize you. Mary Poppins is a Disney staple. :yay:

I am pretty sure you would not be permitted to return candy to the vats, but you could stop by less candy spots or just tell the cm's "Only one piece please." You will only end up with loads of candy if you really try to hit every spot multiple times.

I have always walked into park in full costume at 4p ish. You may be one of few at first but as 7p gets closer you will see more and more folks in costume,
