OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

I'm not a complainer but I've been to the party in the past and this one in 10/9 was sold out and super crowded you couldn't see anything endless you wanted to stake out your spot earlier not worth it see the things another time sell the ticket in my opion

Huh? It really depends on what party you go to more than anything. The early parties (we went 11/12) are heaven.

I tried searching this post, but didn't find the info. Is Santa at the mvmcp? I have a 5 year old who is already skeptical, and he wants to see the "real" Santa, not one of the fakes at christmas parties :rotfl:

Santa, but not the missus, is at MVMCP somewhere off Main Street, I believe. Both of them are also in the parade.

We were at MVMCP on 12/9 (sold out), and it was pretty crowded in front of the castle and (to a lesser extent) along Main Street, but most of the rest of the park was pretty nice. If you know the shortcuts to get around and avoid the area in front of the castle, it's much better.

We found okay parade viewing near Liberty Square (I think that's what it's called), about 15 minutes before. We watched the fireworks from the Rose Garden, which was excellent.

I got in line to wait for the 7 Dwarfs about 6:30pm (they come out at 7pm) and there was already a half hour line at that point, so I ended up waiting in line about an hour. Walking through later (perhaps 10pm), the line was shorter.

We rode a few rides after the fireworks (It's A Small World, Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain) and they were all pretty much walk on (way less than 5 mintues).

We ate at Cosmic Ray's and saw some of the Dance Party going on there. It was fairly full, but no wait to get in.

We did the Tomorrowland show at 11:45pm (right near Space Mountain) and it wasn't very crowded. The two older kids and I were actually coming off of Space Mountain right after it started, so we missed the first couple minutes but still had a great view.

This was our first MVMCP, and it was well worth it to us.

Glad you had a good time like we did back in November. Seems like there's been a bit of trashing of MVMCP lately and I like to hear the good news.

The way I think of waiting for the dwarves early like you did is that that first half-hour was not charged against actual party time. In other words you had 30 minutes extra that you could spend on party-specific things. We did the same thing but with shorter lines overall--it was only the third party of the season and crowds were light.

This may be an extreme longshot...and probably a stupid question. But is there any way to get tickets to MVMCP for 12/19 (currently sold out)? Perhaps someone willing to sell them if they can't make it? Please let me know or if I need to repost this somewhere else. I need 4 tickets, its a little boys 4th birthday that day. Thanks

Is the Mickey Christmas Parade part of MVMCP meaning you can't watch it without tickets? I'm guessing not, since it starts at 7pm and the parks closes at 7pm for those without tickets.

edit .. Nevermind, I think I found my answer. Thanks!

Do you expect this week's parties to all sell out?

You can go to the Disney web site and then click on buy tickets and then click special events and it will show the days that are sold out for the MVMCP:santa:

I have a question! ;)

I'm planning on going to MVMCP next year! I'm going with a big group (for our Disney wedding). I know that I'll reserve tickets as soon as they are released next year, but my question is:

If any friends and family decide to attend MVMCP while they are there for our wedding (and tickets are still available), can they purchase the tickets while they are there? :confused3

Can their hotel help them purchase them? Or can they go to the will-call window outside of the park?

Any insight on this will be extremely helpful!
Thanks everyone!!! :flower3:

Congratulations of your upcoming Disney Wedding!

I have been able to purchase MVMCP tickets the day of at guest relations in the park or any ticket window. If the event isn't sold out, your guests will have no trouble purchasing tickets.

I'm not sure about purchasing special event tickets at the resort but I would imagine they can help!

Hi all. Going to the party on 12/17, 2 adults and 1 child. Watching first Castle Show and first Parade due to child's bedtime. Any help on where to stand to view both shows would be greatly appreciated. Should 1 adult stay with child for Castle show and the other get a place on the Parade route by Frontierland? Thanks again!!

:confused3

We just got back from Disney and we went to the party on Dec 12th a Sunday. It was crowded but we were still able to get a good spot on main street on the curb across from the Ice cream parlor. We staked out our spot about an hour and 15 minutes early. As soon as the parade was over we walked directly to the Crystal Palace for a spot for the fireworks. We were just a bit down from the Cyrstal Palace along the fence. It was a perfect spot with no trees in the way. Get there about 30 minutes before they start and grab your viewing spot lol. I guess you mean the fireworks when you say castle show ? The fireworks are a must see ! They were soooo beautiful, I was amazed.

It says online that Mickey's Christmas party is sold out on Dec. 19. Does this mean no tickets will be sold at the park the day of. Does anyone know anyway to get tickets????

A friend is looking for 3 tickets to MVMCP on 12/19 and I know the chances are small but just thought this was a good place to see if anyone has any they will not be using or knows if they will be selling tickets that day? Thanks

That's what it means--sold out. None are kept in reserve for day-of use. Sorry!

We attended this party and I was very disappointed. It was very crowded, the fireworks did not compare to Hallowishes and much of the "special" merchandise was sold out BEFORE this party. The only pin available, the logo pin. The parade was wonderdul, but sadly..we will not purchase these tix again. It just wasn't worth it. imo

Anyone have a list of potential charecters for this year's parties yet? anyone new reported to be popping up?

I am still desperately trying to convince DH we need to go to FL for Thanksgiving weekend instead of KY, I think the 40 degrees and rain here today is helping a bit, hopefully by this weekend I will be buying MVMCP tickets.
