OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

Just back from the party. Didn't get as much accomplished as I hoped but had a good time and DD got all her must dos accomplished which was more important. There were lots of CMs checking for wristbands - we saw them in Frontierland and Fantasyland - nice to see in my opinion!

BTW...We did find Mickey snowman popcorn buckets, but also saw them at the Studios so not party specific.

I'm sorry you didn't get as much done as you had hoped. I'm glad to see the CMs check for wristbands. We'll be doing our first party 12/16 and I was telling my DH that we need to be prepared for it to be crowded and he asked about the people who don't have tickets-like how do they make them leave the park at 7. I wasn't sure what to tell him because I really didn't know if the CMs are actively checking. Nice to know that they do.

We attended on Nov. 18 and it was well worth it. Minimum wait times and got to ride all the favorites.

This was our first VMCMP and we will definitely be looking for it on future visits as we usually go around Thanksgiving.

I don't remember the CMs checking for wristbands like this in previous years so wonder if they've had problems with too many people "lingering".

I'm thankful they are checking. NOt fair for people to pay for this extra and have some sneak and get it for free!! Check on CM's.. Check on!!! LOl!:rotfl2:

I just snagged an 8:30pm LTT during my MVMCP night. Has anyone been to the Verry Merry Dinner? Is this worth it? I'm wondering if there is anything special about it, or is it just the normal Thanksgiving-type meal? Do they bring the characters back like they used to have at LTT? (That's probably wishful thinking) I'm not sure I want to take time away from the party if it isn't worth it. We could just do QS meal that night.

Anyone who has been to the dinner please share. Thanks!

No way would I take time away from the party for an ADR. Heck, I even think you should eat your counter service before party time. It makes no sense to pay all that money then spend your time inside a restaurant. It's almost impossible to do everything at the party as it is, even without the ADR.

I have to agree. My DH decided he wanted to find a place to eat 15 minutes before the fireworks Tuesday night. I asked if he was crazy and he looked at me puzzled. Guess he'll never quite get it. :)

we ate there last year on my MVMCP night but it was at like 5pm. It was tradional Thanksgiving type food, no characters. It was good but I don't think I would miss party time for it

I would say no, that would be a most unsatisfying view of the parade.

In line for the bus back to the hotel...

Great party, main street was packed for the first parade but it really filtered out after that.

Saw the princesses in about 10 min each time we went. Got Belle and beast at 7:30 and snow white at 11:00 pm. The fairies were 30 mon. No line for evil step sister and minimal lines for others. DD didn't want the dwarfs so we didn't try.

No lines for most the rides either.

All in all we had a good time!

thanks! Is it a fr walk from the parade route to tomorrow land desert? THANKS NEWBIES TO DISNEY! NEED HELP!

It is a short walk to the most popular--read most crowded--part of the parade route. You will likely have to walk farther or arrive earlier for a decent spot for the parade. The Desert Party is decent for fireworks viewing but not parade viewing.

No park ticket, but you will need a MVMCP ticket. You can purchase one on the Disney website in advance or at the park. All reports say you can enter MK at 4pm and enjoy the park before the party starts at 7pm.
