OFFICIAL 2010 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) Tips and Tricks

Went to the party December 3rd, it was sold out. So of course, CROWDED! Longest wait we had was about 10 minutes for HM, 10 For IASW. We didn't do Buzz. We never saw any snow on Main St., or anywhere else, and we were there the whole party time. Maybe we missed it if we weren't in the right spot at the right time. :confused3 Parade was good but we didn't want to waste party time waiting for a spot, so our view wasn't great. There were 2 very nice ladies who offered my 8 year old son and me a space in front of them, so if you're reading...thank you!!!

I did find a Mickey snowman bucket at Hollywood Studios. It was right in front of American Idol. It was filled with caramel corn. Just an FYI, there is a trick to getting his hat on and off. It is quite difficult if you can't operate the little button just the exact way!!!

What? No snowp? Any other reports of this?

Don't panic! We may have just missed it. I just assumed it would happen after the parade, or as we were leaving at midnight, but we never saw it. I guess we were in the wrong place, at the wrong time! I don't recall seeing any *snow times* listed on the party pamphlet that night

I guess I assumed that it snowped all through the evening. Part of the magic of the party. :confused3 Fingers crossed.

I don't remember seeing snow last year at MVMCP but we didn't spend much time on Main St. We saw lots at DHS during the Osborne lights

They have snow during the parade on main street & they also had snow at the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas show last year.

When you are leaving & walking down main street, there is usually snow then, at least since the past 7 years I have been going in December there has been snow on main street every year....:lovestruc

There was snow when we left the party on 11/28. It was nice. There is also snow at the Osbourne lights.

Am I missing something? This doesn't seem crowded to me. Of course, we are used to going in June. :goodvibes

I think for Osborne Lights, if there's even the smallest hint of sprinkle, it doesn't snow. We went to see them twice last year, and both times there was off and on drizzle that evening and no snow either time. Was so excited when it actually snowed when we went to see them this year.

Saw the princesses in about 10 min each time we went. Got Belle and beast at 7:30 and snow white at 11:00 pm. The fairies were 30 mon. No line for evil step sister and minimal lines for others. DD didn't want the dwarfs so we didn't try.

Many thanks for the times report! Anyone else want to report what time they saw Belle/Beast and Snow/Prince?

We'll FINALLY be there ourselves a week from tonight!!

Crowds at a hard ticketed party don't really show up as long ride waits. You can ride the rides during the day, so most people pay for the tickets to see the parade and fireworks. Everyone congregates on Main Street and it can become insanely packed.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Yes, the crowds weren't so much for the rides, but just to manuever around the park. I listed the 10 minute ride waits because I was happy about that. But when I said crowded, I meant it was shoulder to shoulder, longer than usual lines for food, etc...It didn't help that I had a stroller. I would have to wait for someone to pass so I could squeeze my stroller in the pathway, and as I wait, people would just go ahead and squeeze in, ignoring me. It was EXTREMELY frustrating. My DH and I decided we had to turn aggressive just to get from point A to point B. So we had to holler "excuse me" and get pushy. So yeah, I guess we're some of "those people" now!

To the PP that wanted to know about Princesses, we met them at 7:30 and got Belle/Beast, Cindy and her prince, and Aurora and her prince. We attended on 12/3 and Cindy must have been exhausted that evening. In our pictures, one of them her eyes are closed, and the other they're open but her mouth is closed and barely smiling! I will have to see if the Photopass pics are better. Good thing we went to Akershus and she was more rested ;)

It sounds like we will at least be kept warm by all the bodies crammed on Main St. :thumbsup2

We're going to our first MVMCP on the 10th. Can someone tell me more about the dance parties? Are they continuous or only at certain times during the party? How long is the typical wait to get in and how long are you in?

This question is about the Tomorrowland show: Is the Rockettower Plaza Stage indoors or outdoors?

Thanks!

We've gone to several dance parties through the years. Two years ago, we went to the one in Cosmic Rays where Chip and Dale, Goofy, and Pluto danced. They danced on the stage while the children danced in front of the stage. There really was not any interaction between the characters and the kids and it was very crowded. We went to the party this year on 11/16 and decided since DS is so into Toy Story now that we would go to the one in Frontierland (Diamond Horseshoe?). The characters were not there when we first walked in (I believe the first parade was going on) but they arrived very shortly afterwards. This party had Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye. The characters were on the floor with the kids dancing. We had a blast here and spent quite a bit of time dancing! Even when the characters are not there, the dj is playing music and kids are still dancing on the dance floor (so it is continuous). There was no wait to get into the dance party.

The stage in Tomorrowland is outside. Most people that were in the front sat down so the people behind them could see.

Enjoy your party! We went twice this year (11/12 and 11/16) and had the best time!

Thanks for the reply. I get what you are saying now. Are the crowds better on main street for the second parade? I am seriously glad that my stroller days are behind us. It is insane on a normal park day, I can't imagine it at an event like this. :goodvibes

I tried searching this post, but didn't find the info. Is Santa at the mvmcp? I have a 5 year old who is already skeptical, and he wants to see the "real" Santa, not one of the fakes at christmas parties :rotfl:

I'm not a complainer but I've been to the party in the past and this one in 10/9 was sold out and super crowded you couldn't see anything endless you wanted to stake out your spot earlier not worth it see the things another time sell the ticket in my opion
