I just wanted to let everyone know that there has been a very interesting post made about the free dining offer on another thread about the topic.

IMHO, I find those dates a load of bull. Disney has never extended the offer that far into the fall season. I think even October may be pushing it. I think the offer will most likely resemble the dates offered to those on the bounceback program. One poster on that thread said that those dates would land right smack dab in the middle of Jersey week.

I was thinking the same thing.....I find it odd that it would cover Halloween anyway.

Sweet! My mom and I both have Disney visas, so we should be able to book Monday! I already have bounceback ressies for POFQ, but we really want to change to POP or another value. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for the scoop! I'll be scouringm that Sunday paper, too!

labdogs42: Did you book the bounceback when you were there last year? I tried calling four times to change my resie from the Poly to CBR and was always told "no, there is no availability at any other resort." I got some encouragement from some people on the boards and I decided to try and call one more time. I did and this time I got a CM who knew what he was talking about. He admitted he couldn't change the reservation but immediately got someone from GR on the line who changed the resort for me without any problem. So maybe try calling now and get the resort you want without having to wait on hold with everyone else on Monday. Good luck!

Another poster pointed out that November 6 is a Thursday; that wouldn't make sense.
October 6 is a Monday. Maybe it would run through October 5 and stop the 6???
Well, as of now, we are booked for October. We will possibly change if free dining is offered. It would be GREAT if free dining would be offered for our mid October trip! I just seriously doubt that will happen.

Does anyone know if DxDDP covers Garden View Tea Room? I made Ressies for our last day at Disney and I was told that DxDDP won't cover it and it needed to be paid OOP?!

Never heard anyone talk about this. Since I'm a newbie maybe it's been brought up in the past, but I didn't see anything in the search.

Anyone know?

I cant believe I am the first to post this. My Mom is a travel agent. She recieved an email this morning from her Disney Rep. Here are the details for 2008 Free Dining. 08/24/08 - 09/20/08. Disney Visa holders can book on 04/07/08 with code AYG...General public opens up on 04/10/08...sorry she didnt give me hte code for this one, as I have been waiting for the Disney visa code.

You will call WDW and book with them. Use the free dining code given.
The code posted on the other thread is a code given for Disney Visa holders. I am not sure if the code for the general public will be the same. The travel agent mom told the fellow DISer the visa code. I don't remember from past years if the code for the public was the same or different. I am a Disney Visa holder.

ETA, that stinks if it only goes to 9/20! My trip is for 9/19-26. I know I have free dining since I booked bounceback, but will my mom be able to get it for her whole trip?

From past experience on the day (April 10th) that the free dining is available to the general public will it be hard to get through to CRO? Constant busy signal or on hold for a long time.

okay things dont look so good about free dining for us...

our dates already booked and planes tickets bought are for 8/19-8/26 we would have gotten a later date but we are going with other family members who couldnt go any later is any one else is this predictament? hmmm

just wondering if we get free dining for some of the days even though we already have 40% off could they swtich the promo when free dinning starts????/ i know im just wishing and hoping ..... but i still have some little hope... im always looking for the best deal..... and if we would have gotten it would have saved us 200 dollars more.....

If the promo ends on 9/20 and they won't extend it through the end of your stay, would you have to book 2 separate segments 1 with dining and then 1 without? My dates are 9/17-9/22. I hope the dates are wrong and it goes to the 27th, or they let us finish out our stay!

You, like us, are out of luck. First you would have to do a split stay with a check in on 8/24, but that won't help you because they usually have a 3 night minimum stay, and your checkout is 8/26. Join the club. We are 2 years in a row out of luck. I booked my dates as the quiet weeks according to their website and twice I missed it. But you have a discount, so you are one of the lucky ones.

A TA on another board had called the Disney TA number yesterday and asked about Free Dining. She was given the dates August 24 - September 1 as well. The rep told her that they had just found out the dates that day.
