Offical DisneyWorld Mobile App now available in UK

The mobile app for geting wait times, fastpass availablity, maps etc, that was launched by Disney earlier in year, but restricted to US smartphones has now been released for UK users

I have just downloaded it for free. The only issue is going to be how much it will cost to use when I am there, as to get most out of it you need a data plan, and mine is with Orange UK, so I will have to pay international data roaming charges, which I gather is expensive.

Not sure I can buy a US Sim from Orange for my iphone with just a months worth of data and use it over there.

But for now its interesting app to play with. it looks nice. Currently its telling me I'm not in a park (i know that !) but it does have all show times attraction info and other info. Park maps are nice.

I have had more of a play.

You can check restauarant availabity and make dining reservations directly wthin the app which is cool

It also lists FastPass availability for attractions

For wait times it is currently ony saying
See Now or Moderate Wait.???

Not sure if you get more accurate times in park, although it does keep flashing up saying 'more expanded info will be unlocked when in park'

Thanks for the link. Good app, I like the ADR booking feature. I used the Undercover Tourist app last year, had a look at wait times on the wifi in the room at Kidani to see if any parks were really busy or really slow.

For your Sim-- your Iphone must be UNLOCKED for you to use an AT&T sim, but i think the UK does this as a normal course of business.

I downloaded the app (thanks for the heads up) but -- its going to need some updates.

I used it in February as it was realeased while we were there. (Downloaded it from my US iTunes account)

It lists actual times while in the park although it was a bit sluggish.

If you bought your iPhone on contract from a carrier it will need to be unlocked by them to be able to use it with a US Sim. If you bought it direct from Apple it will already be unlocked.

Looks like its only available to UK users on iPhone. Presume the android version will follow in due course

Thanks for this! It's a great app! The only problem I'm having with it is it won't seem to let me put in 2013 dates to add to "My Trips", anyone else tried it? Everytime I try it jumps back to November 2012.

If you were in the position to use this as an 'investment' - ie use for multiple trips, it's too expensive to bother with for just a one off really, but you could always buy a Mifi like the one available from Virgin.

It's basically a payg mobile router that connects to the internet the same way as your phone would and then you connect your devices to it just as you would in your own home.

It's worth noting that Walmart sell these off the shelve as well as the top up cards. Kinda the size of a credit card.

I'm considering getting one of these for my next trip. I *nearly* did this trip but umm'd and ahhh'd too long to make it worth it. Therefore I can't vouch for how good the signal is in the parks first hand. I believe Virgin uses the Sprint network.

It would however solve all the problems of unlocked phones and sim cards etc, with the added bonus that if is more than one of you in the party you can access the web with multiple devices simultaneously should you ever need.
