I agree with what the majority of people are saying. This week was better and less painful to watch. Of course, it has been so bad that it doesn't take much to improve it. I think we are starting to see the breakout group. Fantansia, LaToya and Jennifer. I think George could make it to the top 4.

Fantansia gets an A+ for her performance tonight. I am not a Fantansia fan, but she worked the song last night. She really need to clean up her personality, though she was very quiet after her performance last night. She has more of the hip hop MTV thing going and that to me is not AI material. I had read somewhere that she has been offered record deals in the past but turned them down as it wasn't the type of deal she wanted. She is probably doesn't need the AI title, so she is in a win win situation already just with the exposure from the show.

LaToya and Jennifer both had A performances. LaToya is consistent every week, she just seems so quiet and needs to show more of her personality. She seems to be a very classy lady. She is my favorite. Jennifer is getting into the grove, but again she just seems to have an attitude that grates on me. And the facial expressions she really needs to tone them down. I surprised that Simon hasn't commented more on them, since last year he was always saying things to Clay.

It's a toss up after those three. George who I have grown to like, just didn't have it last night. Diana is sinking fast just like the Titanic and she could be the one going this week. I really like Jasmine but this is now 2 bad performances. Plus all the other females came out dressed up for the night and she didn't which for her song she should have. JPL I don't get at all maybe because I am old enough to be his Mom. John S. is way over his head, even though that was a better performance for me he is no Bing Crosby or Frank Sinartia.

I actually agreed with Simon tonight. Even Paula and Randy are giving more critical comments this year which they have not done in the past. The guest judge who I had no idea who he was, was the most honest judge they have ever had.

I think Diana will go, the voting has been so crazy this year that it is hard to pick who will end up in the bottom 3. My 3 would be Diana, JPL and John S. However, I know that won't happen. So could be Diana, George, and Jasmine. Hawaii isn't that big of a state to keep her out of the bottom 3.

I will be channel surfing tonight as AI is on against Survivor.

I think Fantasia and LaToya did the best. In fact I think they'll be the final two with Jennifer coming in third. Although, the way the voting has been going, I'm sure I'll be wrong

I agree with Simon. JS, Jasmine and Diana's age is showing. With Jasmine and Diana, it's mostly their song choices. With JS, he has not developed any personality, he just stands there as he sings, his face is blank. Once he matures, he will be a lot better. I remember Clay seeming to have trouble with the same last season, but as time went by, he improved. I just love the sparkle in his eye. He began to seem to really enjoy performing. Whereas JS just seems to want to get through it.

Best of the night: Fantasia and JS.

I've rooted for Fantasia from day one. I think that she is great and won't have any problem getting a record deal if she doesn't win. I agree with a previous poster that she would do great on Broadway.

JS picked the right song and outfit last night. But he doesn't have what it takes.

JPL picked the right song too. Don't care for him but his performance last night will probably get him through to next week. He is like JS, has only one genre of music that he can really sing well too. I don't consider Jailhouse Rock singing. More speaking in tune.

Jasmine and Diana, could have done much better. Jasmine really blew me away earlier in the season. She has gone downhill since. Both have been picking the wrong songs to sing.

George, wrong song choice too.

Jennifer, I like her but feel that she yells a lot. She is a power house but I wish she would move that mike away from her mouth when she starts belting it out.

LaToya, really impressed me early on but I haven't been wowed since.

I'm sorry.... I was just gonna lurk this week and not comment, but I have too.... John Stevens is just pitiful!! He can barely sing (IMHO) and who told him that a pale red-head should wear bright white?????? He looked more washed out than usual! He shows ZERO personality. It's like someone told him to try to do an impression of a Rat Packer... and he's doing a bad impression at that!! Now, I'm not trying to be mean.... I rarely 'pick on' anyone, but he has got to go!! He is so far out of his league! He seems like a VERY NICE kid and it is so sweet to see him with his grandparents. I really respect that relationship and all that love, but that doesn't mean he belongs on TV singing on AI. If he were my son I would think he was just the cutest darn thing, but he just doesn't belong in the top 10 here (or even in the top 100 in my opinion). He needs to find his "niche" and work it. Pop idol is not his area. Sorry..... just had to vent.....................P

This was one of the best AI shows.
I have liked Fantasia right from the beginning and I never saw her as having an attitude. I thought of her comments as playful banter. Simon likes her too---
So many comment on Jennifer's facial expressions--they are scary. Am I the only one that notices the expressions George makes? They are just silly on a grown man!
I, too think that it really isn't fair to put 16 year olds in competition with adults.

I don't care for John Peter at ALL. He bugs me so bad I have to turn the channel. I don't think he can sing and it' painful to watch him dance.

I really like red head John's voice but not for this type of competiton. I also don't care for Jasmine something about her is off to me.

I don't know what I am going to do tonight with the Apprentice, AI results and Survivor on.

OK - I am one of John Stevens' biggest fans - but he should be gone. JPL is NOT a singer - bye-bye!!

Fantasia was amazing last night - how refreshing! (I really don't like her "sassiness", but she sang beautifully, and it's so nice to see a singer really get into her music!)

just a reminder to all...ai is on at 8:00 tonight only half an hour so all you aprentice and survivor fans will get to see the end...last night was the best show by far....if fantasia would sing jazzy songs like she did last night i would buy her cd...wasnt a big fan of hers before but last nights performance was awesome...my choice is for latoya however she has been consistent every week and doesnt come off with an attitude...i think its time to say bye bye to diana...(ireally hate that titanic song)

Does anyone here think that maybe someone told Fantasia she needed to tone down the "attitude" and show a little bit of sensitivity? Because if they did, she listened, and it worked wonders for her.

While I like Fantasia, her attitude has grated on me. She didn't start out with one but as saw more of her, we began seeing and attitude. I thought that it would bring her down. But if you watch closely, her remarks to Simon are just that, remarks. I think that she is taking what he says seriously and improving herself. I think that he really likes her and honestly wants her to do well.

On the other hand....

I don't think Jennifer has a bad attitude; it's confidence, and a little confidence never hurt anyone. None of these kids would be there without some form of self-confidence. With the wide-eyed thing, I don't think it's that bad, it's just theatrics, which she is used to, having performed for Disney. People seem to disagree on this; they complain when someone has "no" personality, and when someone has "too much" personality. Well, which is it?? JMO.

I agree. Even though I've never liked her before, her performance last night of a beautiful song was just as fantastically beautiful - from the bottom of her heart.

I agree with every you said right there. I don't really like Fantasia all that much, but she was pretty good last night. AS for Diana, she had a pretty good start but has slowly become worse. I thought she made a mistake in song choice because, while it is a great song IMO, it is also an extremely hard song to sing. How about JPL last night? He was just awful!

I'm quickly losing interest in this competition. The ones left with the better voices - LaToya, Jennifer and Fantasia do nothing for me They all have attitude problems, call it arrogance on something, but I know I wouldn't go to their concerts or buy their CDs. They may have good voices, they're just not likable. And the people left who have personality, George, Lilo and JPL aren't as strong in voice. WHy couldn't we get the mix right. If Bobo had John Steven's humility, I would buy her CD in a minute. But there are already enough Whitney Huston wnnaves out there. And sorry, Sara, Jennifer isn't about confidence. Catch the look on her face whenever she ends up in the bottom three. It's like "I don't belong here with these others". Bobo has also pulled attitude with the judges, especially Simon, who more often than not is spot on with his comments.

For those that think JS can not sing...he performed in a comp. a little while ago and had to sing an aria. He scored a 100. Not bad for someone who can't sing.

I am not overly impressed with anyone in this years show. I do my one vote for JS..because he's the local boy...but there is no one else that I feel compelled to vote for.

I wouldn't buy a CD or attend any of their concerts.

Now if Clay and kelly would come here I'd buy their tickets in a minute.

WHEN did LaToya come off as arrogant? She's been the epitome of a lady from day one.

Jennifer and Fantasia are extremely cocky and confident, and I'm GLAD they are. Go, GIRLS!

Fantasia WILL get acting roles after that performance last night. She was better than the finals at my theatre class! She made that song hers!

George is my heart and I doubt if one off night will hurt him.

I STILL like JPL, he's like a cute little peanut to me. And I'm OLD!

JS did well last night, but he has shown how limited he is in this competition.

I actually like Jasmine last night, for the first time. Something about that flower... No surprise that Lilo and Stitch was her favorite movie. She could play a grown up Lilo in the unanimated version!

Jennifer looked and sounded great last night. I am also not a fan of her facial expressions, something I even learned in Broadway musical training, but I see she's working on it. Watching a few tapes should've convinced her. Stage performers usually have a problem translating over to close ups.

Diana, Snellville should be in tears tonight. Buh Bye!!

I really hope it's Diana going home tonight. She's been in the bottom 3 a couple times and it seems like she's losing some fans, so I wouldn't be surprised. I really don't like her attitude and her voice annoys me.

I was watching some show like Entertainment Tonight or something, and they had a clip of Fantasia and it said at the bottom "Best Idol Ever." How ridiculous is that!? She doesn't have nearly as much talent as Clay does. I still think that Clay is the best Idol they have had in the past 3 seasons. And there are a few people from Season 1 or 2 that I think could have won it all easily this season, since no one this season is that good!

Well except maybe John Stevens was worse than JPL but I like him better and I really wanted him to be around for Barry Manilow night.
Anyway...I'm happy...they got it right!!
