Sorry...I know I don't post on here regularly, but the personal attacks towards a proud mom (who doesn't, by the way, control what the camera does) and a bubbly, happy teenager (Diana) are just getting to be a bit much. Even the John Stevens haters (of which I was DEFINITELY a member) never got personal about it.

I think we all know that Fantasia doesn't control the cameras. What I was saying is that the AI producers know who they want to win and they are making sure we know it. Yes, I believe she was really upset over George's leaving...she was crying that way after John left last week too...you can't fake that.

And as far as the personnal attacks...there were not only attacks against John but also some slurs made against the people that actually liked John. I think that is personal.

No I don't like how Fantasia sings...I don't blame her for talking and showing her child so much, I blame the producers of the show. If they didn't want her doing that, they would let her know it. You can bet they control how each person acts. LaToya was getting a reputation of being an ice princess and then last night she was hugging George....don't you think the producers told her to show a bit more emotion because it could hurt her. I think they want a LaToya/Fantasia showdown and they are making sure they stay as much on camera as possible.

She may not control the cameras, but she sure can put herself in spots where they are most likely to be. While I don't doubt the tears are somewhat real, since they can form a real bond during all the weeks they spend together, I have no doubt that she is milking it for all it's worth. Why do I question her sincerity? Because she has shown her not so sweet side, many times in her comments to the judges, especially Simon. If she could show me the littlest bit of humility like a John Stevens had, I would tend to have more of a reason to believe her sincerity. But she hasn't.

Not sure why people interpret these as personal attacks - it's just critisicm. This is a contest where the winner will win one milion dollars. It's not like attacking one of us on the boards. If she can't handle the critisicm, she's in the wrong business.

The opinions are strong and everyone has a right to them but some people cannot make it through a post without a nasty comment about Fantasia. Okay, we get the point, you don't like her!

I do, but heck I liked JPL, John Stevens and Ruben. I can take whatever is dished out and you know what, it makes me more determined to vote more. Even my sister, who doesn't even watch the show anymore, calls to vote because of all the "criticism".

Like many others, I don't care who wins - not so in the last few AI's.

I guess it's because I don't care enough about any one of these performers to see that they do well. Actually, I take that back...I do care about Diana and Jasmine, since they've been polite young ladies the entire time, even though they've had some pretty nasty comments flung their way. I believe our music industry can use a few more positive role models for young kids. I think Diana has improved greatly in the last few weeks, and has worked hard to be right where she is. Both of them need a better stylist, IMHO.

LaToya and Fantasia both have more talent, but I don't care enough about either one to be excited that they won. Either one will be fine, and have a recording contract. But with their families, could either of them do the globetrotting that AI demands of them? Not sure how I feel about them being a role model, either.

I know this show appeals to more than the younger set, but young people are the target of this show. It'll be interesting to see if one of the younger ladies doesn't get a little push towards the front in the final weeks.

I can't figure out why LaToya is referred to as being an ice princess and why people say that she has no personality. Yes, she is reserved compared to Fantasia and some of the others but why is that such a big deal? There are plenty of famous people who just come out and sing and people don't seem to mind that.

But it is true that people have the right to criticize. I don't usually because I keep in mind that everyone has different preferences and I could just end up slamming someone else's favorite.

When I said that Fantasia puts herself in the camera's way, I meant that if you watch her, she will usually move to the front of the group. She is never in the rear! Now, of course she wants the photo op. That's what she's there for. She is certainly 'working' it much better than the others. But, I myself would never buy anything she sang on. I just can not stand her voice. LaToya has seemed to be 'flying under the radar' so to speak. She never jumps to the front. Now, this doesn't make her a better person. I just think she's more laid back and possibly more sure of her talent working for her. I also am not so sure how it would work out for her running around the country since she has a family. Yes, I know Fantasia does also. It just doesn't seem so far fetched to see Fantasia doing the 'tour' thing.

I don't think she is conscious of it. I think she just being Fantasia, and that irritates a lot of people, but I don't think she's even aware of it - it's her personality.

So sad to see George go. I live and work in the New Orleans area and was really pulling for him. I was also surprised. I thought it was going to be Jasmine. The kid is sweet and has a good voice, but she's lack luster. I'm pretty certain even if all the people of Hawaii calls in a few votes for her - she will still be the one to be eliminated next week - unless she has a miracle performance up her sleeve. We shall see.

Speaking of cameras, has anyone noticed the angle on some? When one of the contestants is on the stage singing and a camera pans on them from a distance, the lights behind just drown out that person and they disappear. It's very annoying!

I agree about the lights. I'm always saying the lighting director should be SHOT! But I guess it's really the director who chooses the camera angles - don't they do a run-through and see where the problems are first?? SOOO annoying!

He seems like one of the absolute sweetest guys!!! And I really loved his singing. I will REALLY miss him on the show. I hope he has a wonderful future ahead of him!!!!! GO GEORGE, GO GEORGE!!!!!!

The Fantasia and Diana bashing are nothing compared to what John Stevens got. And some John Stevens haters got very personal about it! They even started to bash people who liked him which is totally uncalled for. I may not like Fantasia and Diana, and yes I will say what I think about them, but I wouldn't bash people for liking them!

I never really liked George's voice, but it was sad to see him go, because he seemed like such a nice guy. I would have rather seen him last longer than Diana or Fantasia. IMO, the order of the following 4 should be Latoya, Jasmine, Fantasia, Diana. I know it won't be that way because most likely Jasmine will be going next week. I just hope it's Latoya that wins because I can't stand the other 2. I'm not voting right now because I don't care, but if Latoya or Jasmine is in the top 2 with one of the others, I will most definitely vote Latoya or Jasmine, because I kinda like them and because I don't wanna see either of the other 2 win!

If anyone sent a best wishes message to John Stevens using the link I posted, just thought I'd let you know that the newspaper came out today with all the well-wishes printed in it. There were ALOT of them and very, very encouraging.

Yes, I am a little sad that george is gone, I just LOVED his personality, always smiling, that George. So, now its nothing but Girls/Ladies/Women......hmmmmm first Idol was A girl and a guy, the second, 2 guys and now 2 girls. Very interesting.......

I can't imagine who would say that. She has class. Maybe for some people that reads as "no personality" if they can't recognize class

What paper were they in? I haven't had a chance to sit down and read the News today. But there is a interview on channel 2 tonight at 11:00.

It's going to be sad seeing George gone. I felt bad for him last week. He brings laughter and humor to the stage. He's so sweet. I just knew it was gonna be Jasmine gone. I like Jasmine. Thinks she's cute. But her voice isn't as strong as Latoya's. I tried voting for George, but his line was busy. Got through only twice. Now Jasmines was free? (strange) Anyways, I hope Latoya wins it. She's the best left. Handles herself very mature and classy. I still can't get into Diana. I hope she adjusts her wardrobe next week. Don't know what she was thinking last Tuesday in that blue hook up.

What bothers me most about Fantasia is that IMO she is using her daughter "proud Mom" thing to get votes. It worked with Paula for sure when she cried (although I think being over medicated may have enhanced that). She may just be a very sensitive person, but her reactions to everyone leaving is over the top to me. Sure, be sad to see them go, sure shed a tear or two, but to be almost hysterical?

I didn't care for Diana dedicating her songs to her Grandfather and soldiers for the same reason as I don't like what Fantasia does. It's the awww, this was for her daughter, aww this was for Our soldiers/grandfater. And it drives me nuts when Diana does that "Come on Y'all, clap your hands" thing.

I guess this is what AI is all about, using the air time to your advantage and make the most of it.

I'm going to digress from the singing for a minute and talk about the personal styling of the final four.
In my opinion, both Latoya and Fantasia have really stepped out as far as personal style. Latoya coming the furthest and looking the classiest on a weekly basis.
Now Diana and Jasmine....what's up with them??? Jasmine wears those tight jeans and sparkly bracelet every week--I just didn't like her look at all last week for Big Band. And Diana has quite a little pouch going in her tummy region, yet week after week the clothes she wears accentuates it rather then hides it. Either they got the worst stylists or they aren't taking their advice.
