Tales from the Beast Pen

Aren't you glad you can just skip my ramblings?

DD#2 is an alien. She's 16 months old.
- 3 days ago, she ate (another) purple crayon
- 2 days ago, she ate her Play-Doh (again)
- and yesterday, she took a banana, peel and all, and took a bite out of it.
You'd think that she'd have figured out that the peel wasn't the part she wanted. She thought otherwise, and took a few more bites out of it. Anyone see that movie, K-PAX, where Kevin Spacey plays an alien and enjoys eating entire bananas? My daughter is an alien.

Sibling love. DD#1 (3.5 yo) heard the story of the 3 pigs and the big bad wolf yesterday at preschool. Last night, bedtime was rough, because she was scared that the big bad wolf was going to come and get her. She asked to sleep in the same room as DD#2 (they're separated now, while DD#2 is sick and waking up a lot).

Awww, how cute!!! Because there is safety in numbers? Because together, they can keep the wolf at bay?

No. If the wolf comes, DD#1 was planning on sacrificing DD#2 to it. That's my girl!

Oh dear! That big bad wolf haunted my son for years after he heard that story. In fact, that dasterdly beast ruined his first viewing of Spectromagic. He approached our then young 3 year old and attempted to shake his hand. Instead it was the hand of terror reaching out to destroy him...

Eventually he got over the big bad wolf. To this day, we tease him every time we see Spectromagic.

LOL about the Big Bad Wolf...

Anyone seen the commercial for cough drops I believe with the three pigs and big bad wolf- my 18mos old son is not terrified of the tv- because of the wolf in that commercial- spent the other night warily watching the tv for the commercial to come back on.

But as an improvement- he did get over his fear of snoring santa we have and now we get santa snoring and Mrs. Claus humming Santa Claus is coming to town all the time.

But... last night he also decided to help himself to cake- and pulled half a red velvet cake off the table and onto the floor- icing side down- where older DS and DH proceded to let him eat it off the floor- the child actually ate 1/4 of the cake before I found out and stopped him- he was a red velvet monster by that time with the stuff covering him litterally head to toe. DH and DS thought it was funny.

Don't you mean to say that you ate play doh when you were younger and look what happened?!?! ;)

Funny thing is, I ate play doh too...homemade though- it's a little more salty than the real thing ;)

Also used to suck on markers...umm...yeah... :rotfl: I dunno....I can't explain that one.

:rotfl2:

My bed was farthest from the closet - so that when the monster came out, it would eat my brother and leave me alone ;)

Well, I have officially done my good deed this Holiday season. I went shopping for my mother's gifts for my step-dad since the store is too busy for him to leave. I braved the mall and Target :earseek: It was insane: people pushing, fighting over things, yelling and arguing.....NEVER again. I just wanted to make sure that she had a good Christmas (read: My stepdad picks out the weirdest gifts that only he "gets") and in 5 hours I only hit 3 places. LOL

I also got a weird happy holiday card from my school. What makes them think that I want to be wished happy holidays from them?! They just want me to have a happy holiday so I will continue to give them my money. The best part was that Norton sorted it into my spam folder :rotfl:

****SIGH**** ...boys and their toys....
So some of you may have heard of this little game system known as Xbox 360. That has been the only thing my DH has wanted for over a year. He pre-ordered this "upgraded" version of his box back in April (I think). He has been talking non-stop about it and playing it and blah blah blah until the Tuesday before Thanksgiving when it was released.

That Tuesday has come and gone. He loves it. He plays it. And all of a sudden he hates it. He doesn't play it!! ARGH!!! What gives?!? He hardly plays the thing. This beautiful $400 + machine (yes I say beautiful because I happen to like the white-gray sleek design) has been collecting MAJOR dust. Now, what you need to understand is his undying "dream" of becoming a game designer. Or at least his fantasy world of being paid to play. He was ALWAYS on his xbox before the 360. Always xbox and always Halo2.

And I never thought I would be so upset over him NOT playing. Finally my prayers have been answered by the heavens...and I am upset.

Also, I need to tell you he did very well in buying this machine. He traded in over $250 in old DVDs and CDs he had lying around the house. So it isn't that I am upset at him not getting enough bang for his buck.

I am hoping he is just waiting for other games to come out. He really loves playing against players on his friends list and there aren't many games out now where that is possible. Perfect Dark is the only one that comes to mind (and he is tired of playing as a girl :rotfl: ).

So there...vent over...find me a couch so I can have my head examined now. :earseek:

The mind of a toddler baffles me...

We put up our tree, finally. It's artificial. Dh wrapped some presents and put them under the tree. Our toddler thought the bows were pretty, so yesterday while I was in VMK chatting, he took off all the bows from the presents. Later I turned around, and he had them lined up by color. (Luckily he hasn't learned that the paper comes off the present.)

Not sure how fun it will be tink, but I will let you know! I am meeting a girl and a guy I have known since kindergarten but not have seen since I was 15 and my ex-boyfriends best friend who I have not seen since I was 18. I am meeting them tomorrow at 6 so I will fill you in on all of the juicy details :rotfl2: when I return. Which could be at either 7 or 4 am depending on how well it goes! :rotfl2:

Oh and can I just say... :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: Computers are wonderful inventions when they are working, but when they are not...I wonder how will we will live without them. "Sorry Windows has shut down to protect your computer" :headache: If I never see that again, it will be too soon.

So, DS6 sounds like he is starting to get his asthmatic cough, which is usually a sign that bronchitis is on the way--stave it off now! So I picked him up some drinks to have at the house and he wanted eggnog....milk is not a friend of respiratory issues...so we went with Silk Soy Eggnog. Right now you are all going, "Ewww, that sounds nasty!!" It is soo good. Tastes EXACTLY the same, but not as thick. I am in love  (We also both like Silk Vanilla Soy Milk, so maybe we are weird! LOL) Now to make some coffee with it ;)
