Off to see Mickey MEOWS and Snow WIPE again!! A Nov 2012 PTR! W/Pictures

GO BRONCOS!!:cool1:

We were in Glenwood Springs about a month ago. My girls are Girl Scouts and this was their reward for selling all the cookies! They took the train there with their troop and did the pool and the caverns; they had a ball!
My DH and DS and I went up and stayed as well and did the pool. We had not been in several years and it was wonderful. So much fun!:good vibes

I think we'll definitely try to go as a family next summer...
It is a great vacation get away. I would suggest going in the fall when the leaves are changing. We were thinking about taking the train up, just for the experience. But they wanted over $200.00 for a round-trip on amtrak. :scared1: No thank you!
the busses start early for the early breakfast....your resort should be able to give you exact times but I read 6:30 somewhere... ( or someone who's done it recently on here)

you're gonna love the Electrical Parade!
:scared1:Great! Thank you :)

Hello again!

I do believe you can catch a bus from your hotel to MK and ride a monorail over to the Poly, however I do recall us driving to the Poly and taking the monorail to the MK and just leaving our car there all day. I don't know if it's 'allowed' but if you have your parking pass in the window I don't see why not? :confused3

Not sure how much time you need for parades/fireworks as I haven't gone at that time of year but we like to sit somewhere just off the hub towards Adventureland. ;)

As for CS in the MK, we like Columbia Harbor House and Cosmic Ray's... check the menus here: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm#mk and I'm not sure if you're aware but later in your stay you can try Be Our Guest CS (it opens 11/19!) LOVE your idea of Earl of Sandwich for dinner as it is a must-do fave of ours too! :goodvibes

I'm getting so excited for you... I love all of the things you have planned to do with the kids and how many things will be a first for Jayden... I'm sure they will both have a great time. :cheer2:

Looking forward to hearing more plans- hope I was able to help a little. :upsidedow

 Carla
Very helpful, thank you! I am SOOOO excited to have breakfast at the POLY. I haven't been there since the day DH and I got married. It will be be nice to see it again. Thinking about it gives me butterflies in my belly. :cloud9:

I checked for reservations at Be My Guest for Thanksgiving Day and of course there was no availability. Actually there is NO availability anywhere except the Plaza so I had to book there. Beggers can't be choosers I guess.

while we are experts at resort hopping (my husband hates doing it) but with 2 little ones I would stay at AoA the entire stay, and hopefully they will be able to keep you in same room, but if not you can have bell boys come and move your stuff to new room for you to make it easier
plus AoA is new so that in itself is a big bonus!

Well bummer..... I just got online and those rooms are no longer available. Guess the decision has been made for me. Pop it is. :confused3 I've been toying with the idea and staying at CSR instead. It will cost more but I like the idea of two queen beds. Not sure if it will b worth the extra cash though.

Did everyone have a good weekend? :confused3

Our little weekend getaway didn’t start off so wonderful. :sad2: For one the hotel we stayed at was WAY below my standards as far as hotels go. However... the only reason we chose that particular hotel was for their awesome indoor swimming pool. When we checked in they gave us a room in the basement…. Yes, the basement!! :scared1: When we walked in the room I was REALLY disappointed! The room was disgusting! :crazy2: Major stains on the floor for one and it just felt like being in a dungeon. We were also right next to one of the meeting rooms which had a baby-shower going on with kids running around in the hallway. Then the smell of the food that was coming from the party was just nauseating. So of course I went straight up to the front desk and demanded a new room. So we went from the bottom to the top floor. The new room was still below my usual standards but was a huge improvement from the first.((There were other problems, but nothing too bad to discuss)) Will and the kids changed into their swim attire right away and headed down to the pool. 5 minutes later they came back and said the pool was closed because they had main break or something like that. :confused3 And didn't know when it would reopen. I was SOOOOO mad! We drove 3 ½ hours to stay at that particular hotel and paid WAY more than it was worth and the pool wasn’t working! :furious: I went downstairs to the desk , yet again to complain. We were going to leave if the pool wasn't up and working soon. There is NO way I would have paid $150.00 for that hotel it wasn't for the swimming poo..... Luckily 10 minutes later they had it up and running again. :cheer2:

So the kids and Will got to spend several hours playing in the pool while I watched tv or was up in the room watching some tv and catching up on my trip planning.

The next day we went up to the caverns and adventure park. It was DEAD…… We had the rides all to ourselves. :woohoo: The price is outrageous, but worth it. ((I wish I had pictures to show you but I forgot my camera and iphone))

I was able to convince my husband to buy me a new small digital camera that day from target though, but the battery wasn’t charged so still couldn’t take pictures. :sad1: But on the plus side I have a new camera for my Disney trip. It’s perfect.:woohoo: Now I have that camera to hold in my pocket for when we’re on rides and my SLR or pictures while walking around the parks and resorts. My husband wasn’t happy about the money I spent…. But it will be worth it once he sees pictures.

Other then the hotel problems, we still had a pretty great weekend!;)....

Yesterday when DH went to his car to leave for work, he realized that someone had broken into his car. They stole his pants, shirt, and shoes. ((Which isn’t a big deal)) But they also stole the spare key to MY van. So someone out there has total access to my vehicle and there is NOTHING I can do about it, but wait for someone to steal it. It will cost over $500 to have it re-keyed and I can’t afford that. All night I was looking out the window to make sure my van was still there. ((So far so good)) We have a Low Jack on it, so if it gets stolen it’s a matter of reporting it ASAP before there is any damage. So needless to say I’ve been a little stressed the last 24 hours.:headache:

WOW…. I know this whole post is off topic… Sorry… Hope you don’t mind.:lmao:

For fun....

Here’s some pictures of the hotel we stayed at. *** These are pictures from last year… We must have been upgraded for free without us knowing at the time because the room was a million times beter and had a Jacuzzi tub and fireplace. ((I don’t think we’ll be staying there again))
:sad2:

The pool ((we had the whole pool to ourselves last November)) This trip there were easily 40 people at one given time.

Okay…. Thanks for listening and reading.

I’ll be posting some Magic Kingdom photos soon.

wow....I'd say you handled things pretty well, and on the bright side you can gets all the bumps out of the way before you head to Disney and have a perfect vacation!:goodvibes

Ugh - I'm so sorry that all the bad stuff happened, but I'm super happy y'all had a great time in spite of it! :goodvibes Congratulations on getting a new camera - make sure you put it to good use!!! :thumbsup2

Yes, I've looked at that same hotel several times, but couldn't justify the price. Now I know it probably isn't very nice room wise. The pool was the main draw for the kids of course. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and it was fine, not high end, but our room was clean at least, nice breakfast too. Plus we weren't in it a lot and we were able to walk to the hot Springs pool.

Sorry about the car break in, that really stinks!:(

Oh and we drove to the Poly for breakfast and took the monorail to Epcot that day. We were told at the Contemporary that it was allowed to leave our car there and we walked to MK after breakfast that morning. They actually encouraged us to do it since we came out to get the car, they said "you already paid to valet for the day!" So have fun whatever you decide!:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Hoping there are ZERO problems on our tirp.

I was playing around with it yesterday. I LOVE IT!!! I've never liked any of my small digital cameras before. I also had one just for the convience sometimes. I rather use my SLR camera, but it's just too big to carry around everywhere. This camera I can just stickin my back pocket if I want. My iphone takes great pictures in direct sunlight but that's it. I can't wait to share some awesome Disney pictures with it.

Once we stayed at Rifle which is about 15 minutes away. We stayed at a nice Hampton Inn for $80.00. Was worth the extra drive. We've also stayed at the Courtyard Marriott which was REALLY nice and comfortable. Not within walking distance to the pool or caverns though. It's across the highway.

Well my car still hasn't been touched. Hopefully it'll be okay. A few other people had their cars broken into also. So at least I know we weren't targeted for some reason.

I think we'll drive to the Poly and take the monorail from there to MK. Sounds like the best plan.

So jealous I have to wait what seems like forever lol. Also it so nice to see how excited your kids are. I am really thinking of taking the kids next year for Halloween instead of waiting for January of 2014, but DH doesn't think there old enough, they will nich will be 31 months or 2yrs and a half, Jordan will be 15 months. I just feel they will enjoy Halloween at the world more then January. I'm gonna put on my thinking cap lol.

OMG! :scared: Can't believe his car was broken into! So sorry to hear about that. Sounds like you had a crazy weekend.

WTG on getting a new camera! And you're only 58 days out! :cheer2:

Love all the pics, as usual. Reya is so adorable! ::yes::

Ohhhhh.... I didn't know that. Awesome news, thank you! :thumbsup2 That will be a fun place to eat on Thanksgiving. :cool1:

Ohhhh you really, really should! That is actually my favorite time of year to visit. I'm super excited to see it for Christmas though. :goodvibes
I think any age is a good age for Disney. Reya has been at 6 months/18 months/3 years/4 years/and 5 years. Jayden has been at 3 months and 23 months. Always a GreAT time!

Well my car still hasn't been stollen. Super happy about that, but I'm constantly looking out my windows.

LOVING the camera!

I can't believe your leaving this weekend. So excited for you!

12:00: Check in time for Cruise

After we’ve boarded the ship we’ll explore and/or let the kids swim while we wait for our room to be ready. As far as the cruise goes we’re going to relax as much as possible and just go with the flow when we can.

We’ll Go to the Sail Away Deck party when it’s time, then watch the ship leave the port!

5:45P: Dinner

7:30P: Reservations for Jayden to go to Nursery so we can see the nightly stage show.
((Whoo-Hoooo 2 ½ Jayden free hours)))((Hopefully)))):cool1::cheer2:

10:00P: Pick up Jayden
See where the rest of the night takes us? Have more fun or go Night Night!! Hmmm, room service and sitting on the verandah sounds nice. That’s going to be a daily/nightly ritual.

Hey I followed your link over...:moped:

I've read through page 6 but wanted to comment before I finish reading so I don't forget my thoughts...

Your children are darling... Reya is lovely and Jayden is just cherubic... I can't believe he's a little bit wild child...with that face??? :)

Congrats on the weight loss... that is awesome... breaking a habit is hard but they say if you can not do something for three weeks/21 days -you're in the clear...

You are my ideal with that drive...:drive:... I think the furthest I've driven was 13 hours to Atlanta... I agree I want you to tape it so we can learn you're strategy... but with the way flying is these days... and flying with children I'm not sure that flying is actually easier...:scratchin

Uhhh... Your TA...... Seriously? I would have been freaking out too... I'm usually pretty calm and nice and then 1 in 20 times I sort of lose my temper... ...this would have been one of those times...

I Can't wait to hear how this all goes-the cruise and DWD? Awesome... I'm really curious to hear about the cruise... I've never done one (even though it's on my Disney bucket list) and a short one would be a great way of finding out if it's right for you- although you already know you like them...:lovestruc

Ok I've forgotten the other things I was going to say...so I think I'll go back and read so more...popcorn::

November 16th

The ship stops in Nassau today, but we’re thinking about staying on the ship. We’ve been here before and weren’t crazy about it and none of the excursions sound appealing to us, especially for the price. :confused3 Last time we were here we got to visit with the Dolphins on an Island and it was amazing, but the kids are too young.

So I think most likely we’ll stay on the ship and take advantage of everyone else being gone and swim, meet characters, explore the ship, relax, yada, yada. If we feel the need we’ll get off the ship for an hour or so and just explore on foot, but most likely that won’t happen?!?

So we have Free time to do whatever we want whenever we want ALL day. This may actually be the ONLY day on the entire vacation where we can sleep in if we want.

4:00pm: Mommy gets some alone time. She’s getting a Fire and Ice Pedicure at the spa!! Woot-Woot!! :worship:

((Question::::::: Does anybody know how I tip the CM’s in the spa.. Do I tip them at the end of the cruise or do I tip them cash at the time of service?)) This is one expensive pedicure, hope it’s worth it.

5:45pm: Dinner

7:30pm: Take Jayden to the Nursery

See stage Show

Pick Jayden up right after show and get dressed for the Pirate Deck Party

9:45pm: Pirate Deck Party

Rest of the night is open? Once again see where the night takes us.

((((Honeymoon 2001))) OH MY WE'RE SOOOO YOUNG!!

Hello everyone! How was your weekend?

We had a busy weekend… Jayden and I took a ride up in the mountains… My camera ran out of battery life so I wasn’t able to get any great photos. Maybe, one?
september2012026.jpg

We also got to see Thomas the Train and take a ride at our Railroad Museum here. ((Jayden is a big fan))
september2012056.jpg

ANYWAY…… The most exciting thing happened to me. While we were taking our “ride” around the museum I noticed they had a vendor that was selling …………. DOLE WHIPS!!!! OMG! I have never, ever, seen someone sell those out here. I go to many festivals out here in Colorado and NOTHING. I was freaking out and wanted THOMAS to stop right there. As soon as our trip was over I bee-lined for the dole whip cart…. And believe it or NOT it was just as yummy as the ones at MAGIC KINGDOM! I was in heaven and so was Jayden.. He could not get enough. DH AND Reya weren’t as thrilled because they don’t like pineapple as much as I do!
september2012055.jpg

Just thought you’d like to know that MADE my weekend…. Wooo hooo

((((A couple more pictures from the weekend))

Oh, you know where else they have Dole Whips in Colo. that really surprised me? UNC! My nephew is a student there and he loves Dole Whips, so it's perfect for him!!:goodvibes

Thank you and thanks for stopping by! ;)

I'm hoping my TA hasn't messed anything else up. I won't be satisfied until I receive my mickey mail... I made even more changles to my plans. ((W/O my travel agent)) It's costing us a lot more, but I think it will be worth it. I HOPE! I'm not going to mention it until I know for sure.

I'm excited to explore the new ship. We went on the Wonder 11 years ago, so this ship will be a whole new experience.

On Campus? Ahhhhhh, too bad UNC is so far away. I'd go there right now.:hyper:

Minor Changes

1. We’ll be leaving a couple of hours earlier on the 9th. (Don't want to hit rush hour in DENVER and don't want to get to the hotel TOO late)

2. We’re changing our SURPRISE strategy for Reya. It’s pretty extensive to tell you about it right now. I’ll let youknow as we iron out the details. SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!

:yay:

Thought I would leave you with a couple more past Disney Pictures.
I know it’s not WDW pictures, but Disney is Disney. These are taken from our trip last November to DLR.

*In bugs land. The theming here is SO fun. I love this bench:love:

Jayden and Pluto…. Jaydens first Character meet and greet by himself. Was the cutest thing ever. I thought he would freak out like Reya did at his age. He went straight up to Pluto and gave him a big hug. He wasn’t thrilled that Pluto took his binkie out of his mouth and threw it though.:lmao:
