Off to Neverland...A BOGO Trip Report! PG 44 ~ It's over

You are just so funny you need to keep all of these descriptions and show to her boyfriends when shes older, she'll really love you for it :rotfl2:

Blackmail...I like that!

OMG! Are our kids the wonder twins??? My son is the same way! He's been down with a yucky stomach bug the past few days and tonight, he's something awful!!
Ohhhh, I really hate when they hide. My son hid in my DH's husbands closet behind his clothes. You can't see him and he's still as can be. We went crazy looking for him!
Best of luck to you! I feel your pain, sister! :goodvibes

Glad to hear she's feeling better, though!

How come they can't be that still when you want to sit and snuggle up with them?

Tink was lost in our house once for 20 minutes...If I hadn't had the house alarm on, I would have thought she was taken...and would have called in the troups!:headache:

Good thing Tink hasn't figured out how to fly yet ;)

I'm just hoping she doesn't try it one day...wouldn't put it past her!:confused3

Welcome to the Jungle Snowbell!

Ohhh well...my attempt to bribe her with Doodle Bops, Lola and fruit snacks is over! Well at least I got a few minutes of DIS in... DH& DS are learning how to tap maple trees...they forgot to take her with.

On purpose!

Gotta run, she is yelling for COCKLATE... and I'm gonna give it to her...just to keep her quite! Ya, I know what battles to pick...today, this is not one of them!

Having a great time reading along. I so can relate to the leaky diaper story. We call our 18mo DS "Stinker Stitch." I feel like I am on vacation with you guys :beach: I wish!

Lets Go!

Did you sell that house yet?

If not, you at least get to go to Disney! You crack me up (sell house = no WDW, no sell house = WDW). :teacher:

How about sell house = send DW & DS to WDW w/ princessjv & Lil'l Diz Man? Huh, Huh? pleeeezzze:banana: :yay: :cool1:

Will  ya forever!

Moving Day!

Sorry, folks...forgot to spell check this. Wasn't about to go back and redo when I already had pictures and smilies in...forgive me.

Moving Day! Yea! I have been so excited to try out the Boardwalk Villa’s and DVC. We almost bought points at the Boardwalk in 1999. Since then, part of me has always wanted to buy into the DVC but I have not been sold on the idea. We love trying new resorts every time we go. Would OWNING at the DVC cramp my style? So we rented points from a fellow DIS’r. No not those bottom of the barrel priced points… I paid fair market value. It was a win, win for both parties. I got a contract that I felt comfortable with, the owner got more than $8-10 pp, as seems to be the trend these days.:)

We slept in this morning. Well, slept in as much as you can with a 2 & 5 year old. After the A.M. cleansing & clothing ritual, I with kinder in the double-wide headed to the Everything POP Café (or what ever they call the food court). Where is the hubby? Well he chose to finish the packing and meet us there in ‘JUST A FEW’.

Being that it was close to 9, the place was jammed! I mean JAMMED with people. What were all these people doing? Don’t they have a park that they should be at by now? Guess they are not as Camando as I...

Again, this food court is not bad…but I hate standing in a line for every family member to get food…what a waste of time. Add in pushing the double-wide while Tink has discovered that she wants to put her feet sideways out of the stroller and kick anything and everyone in her reach. Also add lines 30 people long for food, then attempting to balance food & drink and momma doanlike! Today we were going in one line kids, one line! There will be something you will eat in this one line, or you will eat NOTHING…and like it!

After 15 minutes in the line, I loose my patients and begin calling dh…and calling…

Where are you?

I’m almost done.

You said, ‘Just a few minutes’…it’s been like 20!

Dead phone

Call back…Have you left yet?

No.

WHEN ARE YOU LEAVING?

Soon.

(With a Momma growl)
This is ridiculous! Then you can get your own food! How do you expect me to move this stroller, hold food & drinks and kept track of OUR CHILDREN?

I’ll be right there… and the phone went dead.

Or did it?

He finally showed up, after I had paid and got our beverages…Thanks for your help, honey…

I took a detour after we were finished eating and headed over to pick up some luggage transfer tickets. The POP Bell Service had told us we could just leave all things in our room, they would take care of it and have it to BW by noon . We were not about to let anything get lost, so wanted to tag everything ourselves.

I know…we gotta let go of the lost luggage thing.

Just can’t.

Not yet!

We are trying…seeking professional help in fact…

Well maybe not.

So we tagged our own goods…then I came up with the idea  that it would be easier and quicker to just take a cab over to the BW…Right? So I proposed this to dh. He thought about it for about 30 seconds and shot me down…said that it would cost too much (duh…since when did my dh become thrifty?). So I pointed out how much of a pain it would be to lug the Laptop, Carry On, Daily backpack & Double-wide on the bus to MK, then transfer to a Bus to BW.

He told me that IF there was a cab waiting, when we got to the entrance, we could take it.

I made sure there was one waiting…

We arrived to the BW, in minutes…yea MINUTES! Total for the cab ride + Tip= $10, time saved = at least an hour! PRICELESS!

The Boardwalk is simply beautiful. The lobby is jaw dropping. As you step into the lobby, you hear the steps of everyone on the hardwood floor. Immediately in front of you is a musical carosell surrounded by a circular plush bench for sitting. You turn to the left and find oversized, stuffed chairs and couches in intimate groupings. My children quickly found the imitation wooden roller coaster replica and were intranced!

For some reason everywhere we went on this trip we encountered CM’s who were ‘earning their ears’. We found it really cute! Their mentors assisting them in their every move, repeating the Disney Mantra, to ensure that they learn their CM ropes. Very cute!

Mr. Earning His Ears, who checked us in, was as friendly & helpful as any other CM I have encountered. I just LOVED the ‘Welcome Home, Mrs. PrincessJV’. If that alone, doesn’t get you to buy a DVC…I don’t know what will…just sends shivers saying it again…again! (wishful thinking) He told me I could check into my room immediately if I was good with taking a 2nd floor, NS, BW view, close to elevator…pause…OR…I could wait for a 4th floor, NS, BW view, with semi closeness to the elevator. I told him, with those options, we’d take door #2 and head over to Epcot for a bit, until our room was ready.

Mr. Earning His Ears :earsboy: went over the Dining Plan in utter detail and told me to check in at the Conceierge if I had any dining needs or issues with my points. He gave me a map, circled several places, X’d others. I gave him my head nod and pretended to grasp it all. Then he gave me my golden tickets. Well maybe they are not GOLD, but they may have well been. Keys to the World are like GOLD to me…or Diamonds. These little credit card creations not only unlock a place to lay your head and rest your feet, but give you the ability to charge any and everything in the world to your room. If that wasn’t enough, being on the Dinning plan, they also give the sense of eating for free (so we paid $600 and sum for this free feeding feeling prevledge…who cares…it’s just money!)

PICT0987_1.jpg

Kiddo's waiting to get on with the fun!

Map in hand, we dumped off our loot at the Bell Service and were off…to try and get to the Boardwalk. We headed to the beautiful glass doors on the Boardwalk side. There must be a staircase down. Nope…not here. Ah, there are several nice chairs to sit and relax on. Note to self…for when I am ready to take a break from the parks. (haha…maybe someday)

Back inside, this time we take a look at that map we were given (I know they give them for a reason…duh). The duration of our trip we took the only way we could find to the Boardwalk. It was putzy, but it worked. I wouldn’t put it past us, if we missed a better way…Please let me know.

We walked past the Lobby, past the entrance into the Boardwalk Inn wing, past the Restrooms and around the corner we found a little elevator no bigger than one family could fit. It worked. It brought us to our destination, the Boardwalk. But it was putzy!

Our first impression was the Boardwalk looks like a lot of fun. People scattered about eating, strolling, sitting and relaxing. There are small buildings, which don’t open until the evening, where you can buy a snack at, get your hair braided and play carnival style games. You can also choose to board a boat to either MGM (Yacht/Beach Club, Swan/Dolphin) or Epcot. We timed this boat and found that if it’s at the dock and just about to board, it is faster to take the boat. If there is not boat there, you might as well walk, unless your tootsies are too tired. This day we chose to walk to Epcot and enjoy the surroundings.

We loved the entrance at the International Gateway. It is Parisian themed, with large Canapies (I’m sure the Parisians have a name for these…but I do not). Each day, 2-3 Security CM’s were checking bags and the same for the Park Entrance. After you walk through the entrance, it’s a beautiful short walk up the canal. To the right the Eiffel Tower and everywhere is Disney Foliage trimmed to perfection.

We headed straight for FP’s for Soarin. The plan was I would run in, since no strollers are allowed. After I obtained the FP’s I would get us lunch at the Café across from Soarin (I seriously can never remember the name of this place. Not that it is not a memorable eatery, just that the name is not memorable). It was a hot day for us. 80’s, with sun in full array! All of us were not dressed for the heat. Disney TV said that it would be 70’s today, NOT 80’s. I did have layers on the Lil’l Diz Man, so he was free to strip some MN clothing off. But Tink, was dressed for dinner tonight, with the Mouse’s. She had a long sleeve shirt on under her cute Denim Mouse Dress… So dh found some shade to park himself and the kiddos at, while I did the deads.

BOGO ALERT:
20 minutes later, I came out with FP’s in my purse & balancing the worlds largest Fanta (for dh & I), a double plated meal, including 2 servings of Mongolian Beef & Chinese Noodles and a giant square 4x4 of Strawberry Shortcake desert.
Meal feed 4, CS meals used = 1.
Rating: A

Even if you are not on the dining plan, this place has large servings, and can be a budget saver if you share. There is range of counters from Sushi to sandwiches, a cold case with salads, fruit & ‘Uncrustables’ meals for the kiddos. Best of all is the MASIVE dessert counter with pastries to tarts. YUMMO!:cool1:

Huddled in our patch of shade, we disinfected the grimy little hands from Disney germs and gave the kiddos sippy cups filled with juice (curtosy of the POP food court) & a utensil to move the food from the plate to their mouths. No less than 3 minutes later, the plates were emptied. Not a lick left…not even enough for a Disney Mouse!

Tummies full, it was time to try out Nemo & Turtle talk. Both were being refurbed last we were here. Neither disappointed. However simple Nemo is, it is also very relaxing and beautiful. Both Kiddos loved the fish :fish: and even more LOVED ‘finding NEMO’. For Turtle Talk, I sat on the floor with Tink (off to the side just incase we needed to leave). Lil’l Diz found himself a piece of carpet in the middle. Dh, sat with all of the other parental units on the benches. Lil’l Diz tried really hard to get picked, he raised his hand high, it just didn’t work. We however were very proud of him for trying! After the show he was bummed that they didn’t call on him. Maybe next time kiddo…maybe…

We again, were blasted with heat when we left the building. Tink was melting fast (not just from the heat). I decided to send DH & Lil’l Diz to hit TT & use our FP’s for Soarin. I with double-wide stuffed with Tink, Minnie & Pal Mickey went to try to get into our room, and unpack. Dh was given strict orders to be back at our hotel no later than 4PM, because we were eating with the Mouse that night and they would need to re-freshen up before our meal (we should at least look presentable for the MOUSE). (take note on this…more to come on this subject!)

I took the Friendship boat across to Morocco & then to the Boardwalk, cause momma was HOT pushing the double-wide with overtired bucking bronco Tink! By the time we boarded the 1st boat Tink was out.

IMG_0249-1.jpg

Out, asleep that is. To my surprise Tink slept all the way back. In fact, she slept until the minute I opened the door to our Home Away from Home for the next 7 nights.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by this:

IMG_0251-1.jpg

I un-strapped Tink and we were off to explore our home.

I called the Bell Service for our luggage.

It was not there.

Appears that POP had not processed their transfers yet.

WHAT?!? :headache: I was told our luggage would be to the BWV by noon. It was now 3! We needed to re-freshen our frumpy selves before we met the Mouse tonight.

The bell service apologized for the delay and said they would send up our ‘carried over’ luggage, which we checked before we heading to Epcot.

I hung up and called DH, to make sure they were making their way back to the resort. (There will be a trend to this)

PICT0989-1.jpg

While out with dad, Lil'l Diz Man decided this would be his car when he turns 16...wishful thinking son...

Where are you?

Just about to get on Soarin.

Hun?:headache:

What is taking you so long?

We did Mission Space too.

WHAT?!? That wasn’t in the plan! How are you going to get back here in time to dinner?

I’ll make it…We’ll run if we have too.
(side note: Lil’l Diz Man can be fast, when he is playing the his friends or running from me when it is time for a bath. Other than those times, he is slow. Not even Ketchup Slow. More like Hour Glass SLOW).

No sooner than I hang up the cell, our room phone rings.

“Mrs. PrincessJV, Good News! We just checked in your luggage and we’ll bring it up as soon as we can!”:thumbsup2

At least our luggage was coming…now how will we get to Dinner on time?

Great view! Did you get any evening pictures of that view?

Love Tinks outfit! Very sassy! ;)

Hmmmm.... I think the BWV is calling out to me.:listen:

JV Tinks outfit is so cute and falling asleep too :thumbsup2

The BWV look beautiful and the view you can see Epcot wow!

husbands huh :confused3:

Fantastic view!

You can't blame DH for making the most of his time can you??? Freshening up vs. Soarin and Mission Space? that's no contest, mom ;)

I've never been in those rooms, but isn't it a little weird to have the "kitchen" across from the bathroom sink?

You are correct...but I can still try to get my way!

I thought so too, but I don't know how else they could rearrange the area. I really was just thankful to get a kitchen 'area' to make coffee, toast and reheat leftovers...man we had leftovers!

Great view! Did you get any evening pictures of that view?

I tried...I'm just not too good an low ligh photography yet... I will see if I can come up with a few. It was spectacular! We could see high fireworks from both MGM & Epcot!

Hmmmm.... I think the BWV is calling out to me.:listen:

I highly recommend it! Wow is all I can say! We loved just about everything about this place!

Great Report!!! I am so excited that you put pictures of the BW. I will be staying there for the first time in November!

What? Another installment missed by the show-me-new-postings thingy in my subscriptions.:sad2:

Great update, though! I'm beyond impressed with your ability to handle the double-wide while navigating the food court :worship:

LOVE your pics of BWV! My stay at BWI was so horrendous, I wasn't even considering ever staying at BWV, but you've changed my mind :thumbsup2

So, do you make it to The Mouse in time?? popcorn::

I am looking into going in November. It would just be a mom & Lil'l Diz trip (maybe another mom & friend will join us...)

I would love to stay at the BWV again...OR try the Beach Club. Have you stayed there?

At least 1/2 of mine go into my junk mail...go figure!

Do I need to go back and muddle through those previous trippies at the bottom of your siggie to get the scoop on this?

What do you think? :rotfl:

Do I need to go back and muddle through those previous trippies at the bottom of your siggie to get the scoop on this?

Nope, I can make it easy: go to It's Not Christmas... there's a table of contents in the first post - look for the location of "What's that SMELL??!!" Enticing, no?!

I have never stayed at the BW or BC but I have been to the YC more than ten years ago. I just love those hotels. We are going at the end of November Maybe I will see you :cool1:

I missed that one, since I was so late. Now I gotta go back and see what else I missed.

OMG! I am happy to report, from one asthmatic/allergy princess to another, that WE DID NOT HAVE THE SMELL! Nope, none...nodda... Good thing too cause I would have not been as kind and forgiving as you!

i hope you make it on time!! i love the BW...its one of the hotels i DREAM of staying in one day :)

When we left off DH & Lil’l Diz Man were just about to ride Soarin, however should have been heading back to the Resort to ‘freshen’ up before our big encounter with the Mouse for dinner. Tink & I were awaiting our luggage, so that we too could ‘refreshen’ for our Mouse pictorial debuts.

Our luggage finally arrived a bit after 4PM, giving me no time to un-pack. Until it arrived, I had been nervously watching out our balcony for my guys, then checking my door to see if the Bell Man was coming. Back and forth, back and forth. I’m surprised I didn’t leave a carpet path of my nervousness.

I knew we needed to high tail it out of there, if we were going to make our ADR. I called DH and found that he and Lil’l Diz had just finished Soarin. No time to ketchup style it back…so I directed (literally, so they wouldn’t get lost) them to meet us at Chef Mickey’s.

The next issue was getting Tink and myself there, with the doublewide. I checked our ‘Daily’ backpack for all of the essentials.
Sweater/
Sweatshirts X
Camera X
Sippy Cup X
Snacks X
Diapers X
Wipes X
Antibacterial Gel X
Autograph Books X
Pal Mickey X

This would be a good spot to include a TIP or 2: I always put each autograph book in a plastic zipper bag, with 1-2 of chubby pens. The pens make it easier for the big handed characters to sign with. The plastic bag ensures that the book does not get ruined in the backpack and keeps it safe from water rides and rain (yep…learned that from the DIS).

Stroller & bag ready, I opened our room door to push the stroller out. The doorway is plenty wide for my doublewide, including enough space for Tink too, who squeezed past the stroller and b-lined in out of there. Before I could close the door behind me, she was gone. Cruising down the hall. High pitch squeal and giggling as loud as she could.

Running.

Marathon sprinting.

Down the hall she went.

If you have heard the rumors that the BW has long, LONG hallways.

They do.

Although our room was semi close to the elevator, it was still FAR. The only good thing I had going for me at this point, was that I could still hear her. Squealing. Giggling.

So, I did as any momma in panic would do. Slammed the door and ran. Ran as fast as I could to find my little Tink. Pushing the doublewide. Yell-whispering, “TINK STOP!” :sad2:

I don’t like to run. Nope, don’t like it. In fact I would go so far as to say I Hate it. On this day I remembered why…:headache:

After having 2 children, then breast-feeding those children. Your body changes. Things move, head south a bit. Sometimes a bit more for others. Disneyland_Mama has a great description of this life change on her Pre-trippie. Check it out, it's good stuff.

So there I was. Running. Pushing the doublewide as best I could with one hand. Holding my other hand/arm across my top half. Attempting to keep it all in the same place, when I caught up to Tink.

When I finally caught up to her, she was in the elevator lobby of our floor. A family stopped her from jumping on the elevator and was holding her hostage, until I got there. Well, maybe not hostage. But, thankfully holding her still, until I could grab her and strap her in.

Once in her harness, she was not ready to be a nice little princess yet… So, when the elevator opened and we loaded on it, she stuck her little foot out the side of the stroller to ‘touch’ the woman who held her hostage. I tried pulling the stroller away. I tried telling her, “NO”. She just laughed.

Thank goodness the doors opened just about then. I gave my apologies to the hostage family, bowed my head low and high tailed it out of there. I was on a mission to get to the bus. In a high-speed jaunt, I sped past the ‘Welcome’ CM, asking, “Bus?” Not waiting for an answer, I kept walking as he gave me directions, to go out the doors to the left. Rounding the corner, I saw a MK bus just leaving. EEEKKK. I put my brakes on. No need to stroller speed anymore…

The next problem at hand, was how to get Tink out of the stroller, fold the stroller, then get her on the bus, the stroller on the bus and last, but not least… me on the bus???

While I folded the stroller, I set Tink on a bench and asked a nice mom if she wouldn’t mind not letting her move.

An inch.

It was for her well being to hold her down, should she move from that spot. The fellow mom felt my pain and helped me out. I put the backpack on my body, hung Pal Mickey from the stroller and was ready for combat!

When the bus arrived, I asked an unsuspecting teen, to hold Tink, while I got on the bus with the stroller. I assured him, she really wouldn’t care who was holding her, but the kind soul insisted that he could carry the doublewide on the bus for me, while I held her. Once in our seats, I balanced the stroller and Tink for the duration of the trip. The bus was fairly empty and a mom seated a row back with her children, gave me a few ‘I feel your pain’ type comments. Her and her children giggled the entire way to the MK, while I attempted to repeatedly ask Tink to hold still and sit down, while I balanced the doublewide.

I’m glad we were able to be the givers of a few laughs.

Well, not really…

When the bus pulled into MK, the nice mom, whom we had been giving kicks & giggles too offered to carry down the doublewide, while I took the all too feisty Tink. I offered to switch, the stroller for Tink, but she wouldn’t have it. Didn’t even want to go there, with my little cutie patootie monster. Don’t blame her either…:confused3

After my ‘Thank You’s’, we parted ways. Me, pushing the strapped in Tink, with backpack & Pal Mickey in tow. The nice and helpful mom with kids running as fast as they could away from us.

Not really, but I wouldn’t have blamed them if they did!

We made it to the monorail, loaded on the Handicap cab. We were stuck behind a motorized scooter, bearing a pair of crutches out the back of it, which were no further than 10 inches from Tink. It was 5 minutes until our ADR. I just wanted this train to get a move. The doors closed, we began our departure, and then stopped. Dead stop. I begged the train to get a move, I prayed for the train to move. But it didn’t. We had ‘traffic’ ahead of us on the track… How was there ‘traffic’? :confused3 We couldn’t see another monorail anywhere insight… So there we sat. And sat. Tink grabbing the crutches, me telling Tink to not touch. The lady sitting in the scooter given both Tink & I snarly, gnarly looks. And sat, some more…for close to 10 minutes. My phone rang. Dh announcing that he and the Lil’l Diz Man had arrived (without getting lost), wondering where we were, because they didn’t see us in the Restaurant.

We then sat for another 30; I mean 3 minutes until the train started up. You know, when you are sitting somewhere, waiting to get to another location, time feels to move by slowly. Like when you’re in labor slowly…:headache:

We arrived. They gave us the little blinky gadget, and told us to have a seat it would be a few minutes. As we walked away, the gadget began its job and started blinking and buzzing like crazy. Why they even bother giving out those little things sometimes, is beyond me.

BOGO ALERT..of sorts:
We did the traditional pose with the giant plate, in attempt to get a good photo of our non-refreshened family. Ya, right…nodda chance!

As soon as we were seated our friends started to join us! What fun we had! First up was Donald.

Then came the Mouse. (more to come on this photo...)

After a few tries, I got a picture with BOTH children looking in the same direction...and at the camera!

If you haven't been to Chef Mickey's I highly recommend it! It is quite a fun place. Every 15-20 minutes the Characters all come together for a song or two and everyone stands up and dances. Waving their dirty napkins in the air! Pure fun!

The buffet is good, a lot of choices for everyone in the family. But the main food attraction has got to be the desert buffet. What a buffet it is! Ice Cream with toppings of every kind; sprinkles, gummies, crushed cookies, m&m's. There are cakes, cookies, cobblers & pies...oh my! You can eat until you are ill. If you want. I didn't though.

Last but not least Minnie Joined us. This was by far a highlight. Tink just about melted in her arms... She really made our Chef Mickey experience great!

I made sure to send a 'Thank You' through her yellow vested CM guard, on our way out.

Oh, man! I HATE when DS does this. He almost ran out of the grocery store doors once, right into traffic. I yelled the most shrieky panic scream ever and he stopped dead in his tracks 2 feet from the door! Talk about heart stopping! :faint:

I offered to switch, the stroller for Tink, but she wouldn’t have it. Didn’t even want to go there, with my little cutie patootie monster. Don’t blame her either…:confused3

I'm glad you had lots of kind strangers helping you. :pixiedust: I noticed in WDW, there's always someone willing to help out a mother in need. ;)

After a few tries, I got a picture with BOTH children looking in the same direction...and at the camera!
