Off-season

I am in the process of planning next year's trip and was just wondering....

from the seasonal price list, it looks like Aug. 21 - Sept. 21 is the "off-season" because the rates are the lowest. Is there a reason for this, like low crowds, weather, ect.?

would it be worth the $$ for on-site if there are really low crowds anyway?

and do the restrictions for FOTL apply at this time of year?

I love to stay on-site because it is so convenient, but we are taking friends with us next year and it may be hard to convince them to spend that kind of $$ if we don't really need FOTL. I was going to try to book 8/21 - 8/26, but if the weather is typically bad and the crowds are low, maybe I should change the time or place we stay. Any thoughts??

Third week of August tends to slow up since Florida schools are back in session. Keep in mind, hours are cut back right around that time too.

I would stay on site no matter what. The on site resorts are very nice and the pools are well themed. To me, staying on site enhances the experience. But that's just me.

I third that! Staying onsite is worth it any time of year.

That time of year is slow because the kids are back in school. Weather isn't bad unless there is a hurricane which generally don't happen that often (except last year) and there is several days advanced warning.
Staying on-site and hotel FOTL expess is nice but really not necessary if your party is willing to be at the gates at opening. If your friends want to sleep in then on-site has better selling points.

Thanks for the imput, and I totally agree. That's why we keep going back....we love the whole experience! I really don't think I would enjoy it as much w/o being on-site. Even if the parks are a little slow, I'll take no wait to a 15 or 20 min. wait any day! It might be nice to go a little earlier though, just to have a few more hours to play. Does it rain a lot there in July??
