Some of the guides suggest planning meals for the off hours, and I was just wondering what exactly are the "off" hours for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? :confused3

To be honest, Disney restaurants are now always booked and full because of the very popular dining plan and deluxe dining plan, not to mention everyone is starting to realize that you must make your reservations 6 months in advance and everything seems to be full all the time.....

but if you still want to try to go at a "off time", here it is:

Bfst is most busy from 8am to 9:30am
lunch is most busy from 11:30 to 1:30
dinner is most busy from 6:30 to 7:30

I would try to get a very early bfst time such as 6:30, lunch at 11am or later like 2:30pm, and dinner early or late such as 5pm or 9pm.

Of course, this won't always work especially if you have young children or if you have a set schedule.

From my experience off times are the earliest possible breakfast and the latest possible lunch and dinner. These are the times when people with children or any sort of medical issue (my diabetic dad for example has to eat at regular intervals) can't wait or wake up for. So what we do is wake up late, have a really light breakfast of fruit or a granola bar and then we have a nice luch and dinner while enjoying the Extra Magic Hours and/or Disney evening entertainment.

Thanks for the quick response. We had considered the early breakfasts, but didn't know since we will be driving to the parks, plus we have some pretty late nights planned and didn't know if we'd be able to get up that early.

We have found that a later breakfast like 10:30 works very well. We plan to do early lunches also when we go back.

The places are all packed all the time so it is best to choose a time that fits your touring schedule. The late breakfast/early lunch is great because you can open the park, eat your breakfast/lunch and get out of dodge for those hours when the parks are packed.

that is a good time to do downtown disney, mini golf, or just nap!

It works well for us!
