We were informed a week before our trip that our return flight had been canceled.Oh well,we'll just stay an extra nite. Called MS right away-no studios availible, just one bedrooms, but were told to keep checking, even after we got to VWL. When checking in we asked Edward, still no studios, just one bedrooms, but again were told by him to keep checking.each morning we'd stop in and ask, still no. On about the 4th day,Edward appeared ready to tell us no again when a woman who had heard our request and was looking over his shoulder stepped in. She tried something on his computer, then moved over to hers, then stated "no problem, studio is availible,do you want to use pts or cash". After she left,Edward made a comment that her password has more juice then his. Now,while I'm glad everything worked out for us,I feel pretty certain that had this woman not happened to be there we may not have gotten the studio. While I understand managers having more access into computer systems, Edward should have had the "juice" to get me a studio. It puts us in an awkward position if this happens again. When someone tells us "no", do we insist that someone with more "juice" check for us ?

I'm looking at the possibility of asking about extra nights for my next trip. I would have no problem asking them to get a supervisor to log in and see if they have access to some other information that the individual CM I was talking with didn't have. If they give a strange look, I'd just relate the story you've just posted as my reason for asking. I don't see any problem with asking them to use all resources available to fill any request.

I do agree that anyone that is working at a station like that should have access to all resources associated with their role.
