Odd menu experience at Tony's lunch?

A coworker of mine just returned from a WDW trip and had an odd experience at Tony's in MK. Her party was seated around 12:30pm and was handed a dinner menu. She told the server that they were looking for a lunch menu because they just wanted sandwiches. The server told her that they only had the one menu and it was because of some "group". I'll check up on exactly which day they were there, but I know it was sometime around 8/13 - 8/17 so it's not like there was a major holiday involved. They weren't on the dining plan (which shouldn't make a difference anyway). Does anyone have any insight into this unusual menu incident?

We were just at Tony's on Friday the 18th. We were on the dinning plan and did recieve the dinner menu at lunch time. On Monday the 14th we had dinner at San Angel Inn and we recieved the lunch menu. We mentioned it and they gave us the dinner menu.

They might have been doing a large group at lunch time or something and they had requested the dinner menu so everyone had to have it. Don't know on that one otherwise
