Well, it looks like we may be changing our dates from Nov. to Oct. We would be there the week of Oct. 13th- Oct 18th (M-F). Is this a busy time at IOA/USF? We had planned on staying at HRH because of thanksgiving being a busy time, but will we need FOTL for our new dates or will express pass be o.k.? We are a party of six...maybe seven, so saving $$ where we can is important. It was going to be a MAJOR splurge to stay on site, but we thought it was worth it on a holiday week. I would rather spend the extra $$ on nice meals or other x-tras, but we do not want 2 hr waits or express passes that run out in the a.m.! I guess I should say, we will have 2 days at IOA/USF and 3 days WDW. And this is our 1st time for Universal! We are excited! What does everyone think? on-site or off-site? Please give me any advice, I know you are the experts!!!! Thanks~!;)

We're all here.

You're paragraph kinda rambled for a little bit.

The answer is yes, Stay onsite even if it costs more.
Save up for the meals and other things because you know the trip is coming. Tell your friends to start saving their money now.
You have two months to go, so warn everyone in advance and tell them you're going all out, meaning to save now.

The parks will be busy because of HNN, so you want the advantage. Having a magic key will let you visit the parks during the afternoon, with little waits.
In fact, if my memory servers me correctly, the kids are out of school the 17th and 18th, so you need that magic key.

Book it. Stay onsite. Sacrifice a Disney day if you have too.

I've been to USF the last two years during the last two weeks of October and during the week, everything was a walk on. Actually, even on a Saturday at IOA things were a walk on. I guess HHN might make a diff this year since it has changed to IOA. I would go to US on a HHN day and IOA on an off day, or non peak HHN day. Hope you have a great time, and hey ramble all you want!!!!!!!!!

I agree with tinkerbarb. HHN is an evening event with its own ticket required for entry. I am doubtful of the daytime attendence and the HHN attendence correlation.

I would not expect need the room key for express access.
get there early when the gates open and i do not believe you will have any problem seeing and doing whatever you want. i would expect some crowd increase toward mid-afternoon of the days with HHN occuring

:smooth:
