OCTOBER WAITLIST Support Group...

So did everyone end up getting lucky on this by now? We are still holding out hope, but that hope is dwindling fast.

No, we went ahead and gave up on the Jambo waitlist and are using more points to upgrade to a Sav. view in Kidani.

Just for giggles, I looked at the 60-day availability page on the member website...WOW! In the entire month of October, the ONLY vacancies at WDW are a 2BR and a GV at SSR...for 2 nights (Oct 4 & 5). Obviously, Disney has done a great job with their special events to get almost 100% occupancy for the entire month of October. I just hope the parks aren't as busy as the DVC occupancy rate would suggest.

I am glad to see some of the waitlists coming through!

I agree. We've been on the WL for a 1 BR at BCV for 10/16-10/22 (fortunately we have a studio booked for that time, at least). But since we've been on the WL since the 7 month window opened, we're getting a little anxious.

No, my waitlist still haven't come through yet. Been on the waitlist since March for ONE night at bcv studio for Monday October 24th. I lose hope everyday. I never thought getting one night would be so hard. I know it's F&W, but had to add the extra day because airfare was so crazy and added Monday night. I stalk several times throughout the day.

Right there with you. Going for wait list on 10/13 or 10/14 - we prefer jambo 10/13 (we already have jambo 10/11 and 10/12, also 10/14) We were able to snag kidani 10/13 so at least have a room. We have also wait listed kidani on 10/14 so at least we could maybe stay put in one place the last 2 nights vs switching back to jambo. Hope that made sense.

Sigh. If anyone wants to keep chatting, I know I for one could use some emotional support! Misery loves company and all that This is our first wait list ever, did it exactly at 7 months.

Folks, you should have purchased where you want to stay. Waitlists will be much more difficult as more and more member join.
Good luck to all.

I truly do appreciate the wish of good luck.

We do own where we want to stay, and made reservations at 11 months. And family situations changed and we needed to change rooms at 7 months. So we're trying to make the best of the situation and maybe support each other here through some anxious times. I'm pretty sure all the folks on this chain have beaten ourselves up a lot over being in the situations we're in, whether it be where we purchased or when we booked.

Good luck all.:shamrock:

I agree, same for us. Booked at the 11 month window, but had to add a night because when we book so far out we never know what the airfare looks like yet. Could've bought airfare for $200 per person one way, or stay one night and pay $69 per person oneway.

I own 3 homes so I can stay where I want at the 11 month window. I support and admire those who waitlist for a full vacation. I can't get one night. I had a waitlist for one night in August when I had to fly in a day early and that waitlist never came through, so we had to change rooms. Suspect that will happen again for my one night in October too.

I book on faith nearly every year hoping that DH secures our standard vacation weeks we book. It usually works out but there have been times for early Oct F&W when we wound up staying non-DVC. Gave us more points to use for another 'bonus trip' at least.

Re those bonus trips, which are usually relatively last minute in DVC speak (after 7 month window), they can be the most challenging to book even during less popular times.

We bought where we wanted to stay too but a week @ BWV standard and AKV value are prized finds anytime of the year (and @ the 11 month point too) due to lower point structure.

Add my name to this list. I used the DVC website to waitlist an October vacation in March at one of our home resorts (OKW). In June, I went out there to check on the status and discovered that the website had lost our reservation request. Now, you'd think that a website for DVC would be reliable, after all it is Disney! I called member services; as we'd done many times before, since we joined in 1994, and they acted like I'd never even been on the website. Member services has gone from a "how can I help you? We'll even help you with plane reservations" to something along the line of we have sooo many members (and getting more all the time) that I've got someone else that's been waiting to talk to me on the phone for the last 45 minutes, so have a nice day! Our waitlist expired this week!

I have a one night BCV studio to cancel for 10/31-11/1. If anyone wants to try and coordinate please let me know.
My waitlist for BLT standard came thru yesterday so now we don't have to switch for the final night. :yay::banana:
I'll wait until tonight and then cancel, unless I hear from someone.

congratulations on your waitlist!! Sadly I need the Monday before that, BCV Studio 10/24 for one night. Already feel pretty defeated now. Once we get to the 7 day expiration, we'll be on a cruise and won't be able to stalk....Will have two days to stalk before the family will have to bunk with us in our studio at BWV...tight for one night.

Just noticed that Poly studio is available for 10/24 - not sure if that helps

Thanks I saw that. We are holding out hope for the BCV up until we get there. If I book the Poly, and have to cancel it the points would go into holding since I didn't set the BCV waitlist to replace another reservation. BTW, I did see your cancelled BCV Oct 31 pop up last night. Surprised it didn't go straight to waitlist.

October used to be a relatively easy time to book (other than the Epcot resorts), but there is nothing available. Wow. We always book out usually 7 months or more. But, we had an opportunity to go in October this year for a quick trip, and I Started looking a few weeks ago and nothing.

When we first joined DVC (2003) we always went in October, low wait times for rides etc...Around 2009/2010, we really noticed increasing crowds in October. Our daughter is now in middle school, so we can't pull her out like we used to. We have to work a little harder to find those windows of when we can go, as I will never go during a school break, and have no desire to be there in the summer.

Oh well, looks like I'll be banking some points for next year

Keep checking guys

When just checking to see If I might get lucky & be able to flip existing 4 night stay 10/10 to 10/14 via myself vs the WL I'm on lol

saw that if one were willing to move 4 times in 4 days, one could still book a studio stay those dates.

I'm staying pat lol but just throwing it out there

They must've put some rooms back into inventory at BCV today. Normally I stalk all day, but actually had to go somewhere after lunch. Just checked and saw some availability in studios, 1 bedrooms and a little in 2 bedroom lock off. So first time ever I wasn't around to snag it, and of course my waitlist didn't grab it either, because it still shows on my dashboard. Boy, I'm having the worse luck lately.

UUGGGHHH that stinks. I left our wait list for 10/13 on until 7 days, but I've kind of stopped even looking. Too depressing.

Don't lose hope! I had a BCV studio come through in the 7 day window in 2012. I checked a few days before we left, and the website said we were still at Boardwalk, so I sort of forgot about it. When I went to check in the Boardwalk had no record of my reservation. I freaked out, but then I remembered that I had the waitlist, I asked if they could check BCV, and sure enough we had a room there. It CAN happen!
