October Wait List Thread

My waitlist for a SSR studio on the 30th came through yesterday. Now I don't have to move, yeah

Plans have changed, I have just cancelled a Studio at Beach Club for Oct 4-7th check out. Maybe someone will get their waitlist filled.

3 night reservation. Hope this helps someone on the dis out.

I think I may have got your reservation but I wish I hadn't! I had a reservation from back in April at SSR from 4th to 12th October with a waitlist to move to Beach Club. I just saw today that I have 4-7th at beach Club but they have cancelled the 7-12th! When I rang it seems they cancelled it by mistake but there are now no rooms available anywhere so I am back on a waitlist just to get my original reservation back.

I have sent them an email saying I think they should provide me with a room somewhere even if the waitlist does not work as it is their fault. I'll see what response I get

I just checked my ressie and the waitlist hasn't come through but perhaps I am happy since I still have all of my ressie.

I can't believe there is even a question as to you getting the days they "lost" - I guess I don't understand but if more than half my vacation simply went away, I am not quite sure what I'd do.

Seems they need to back track the changes they made to put it right.

Waitlist came through for October 7th... I've got a 1 Bedroom at Saratoga Springs... I am going to WL for OKW since I'm there on the 6th...

Congratulations on your wait list coming through and so quickly too! I have a reservation for a studio at BWV for October 4, checking out on the 7th. I've been on the wait list since mid April to add the night of the 7th to our reservation. Are my chances of getting this night very good at this point?

Also would it still be possible to book this night for BWV studio on a cash basis? If so how does one go about doing that?

just call MS and ask if they have any cash rooms available. That is what I did. This way if my waitlist doesn't come through, I don't have to move...again.

I found cheap airfare and tried to book a studio for oct 9 - 16 but the only nights i could get were the 9th and 10th at SSR and oct 12-13 at SSR. I booked them and got put on the waitlist for the 11th. I booked an AP rate for a SSR studio on the 11th and got an AP rate at the AKL for my final 3 nights.
Now I have a few questions as this is my first set of ressies as a member.
1. Do I have to call MS to find out if my waitlist has come through, or will they call me?
2. When is the last possible day MS will keep that waitlist active? I have to cancel my cask ressie 5days in advance!
3.Because I have 3 ressie #'s for 5 nights what are my chances of staying in the same studio for those nights. I asked MS to make note of my cash reservation on the 2, 2 night point stays.(hopefully it will work out)

My waitlist for October 7th in a SSR studio finally came through! I've been checking it nearly every day and had almost given up. In fact, I told the friend I'm meeting down there that I didn't think it was going to happen. Anyway, I was just checking the official site to see how long I've been on the waitlist (for another thread) and I saw the reservation for Oct. 7 on my vacation details. Yay! Now I don't have to move in the middle of my vacation and I'll have DDP for all nights of my stay!

yxe dad, here's what I understand of the waitlist process:

1. Do I have to call MS to find out if my waitlist has come through, or will they call me?

You don't have to call them, but they also won't call you. When the waitlist comes through, they will send you a written confirmation. If you want to check the status, the best way is to look on Vacation Details on the member website.

2. When is the last possible day MS will keep that waitlist active? I have to cancel my cask ressie 5days in advance!

They automatically keep it active up to 30 days before check-in, but if you ask, they will extend the waitlist until the check-in date.

3.Because I have 3 ressie #'s for 5 nights what are my chances of staying in the same studio for those nights. I asked MS to make note of my cash reservation on the 2, 2 night point stays.(hopefully it will work out)

I know that if you ask for waitlist nights to be combined with your original ressie, they will do that. The official site shows that I have 5 different reservations because of waitlist nights coming through, but I called Member Services and they told me that all of my consecutive nights were combined. I don't know how the cash reservation would fit into it, because I was planning to stay at a different resort for my one unreserved night. My guess would be that if you asked them to note the cash ressie, they did so and it would appear in your file at room assignment.

Waitlist success!! When I called a couple weeks ago for a stay 10/25 - 10/28, only the 26th and 27th were available at OKW. So I put myself on a waitlist for 1 night at OKW, the entire stay at BWV, BCV, VWL and SSR. Well today my entire stay just came through for SSR

Hi, Today I had 2 nites SSR(studio) come thru on my waitlist! October 20th and 21st,I only waitlisted for these last week.Now I am waiting for Oct.18th. I was only able to get Oct. 19th when I first called. I really hope Oct. 18th comes thru at SSR,this was my 1st choice for resort since it is just my DD(23) and myself. But I am waitlisted at ALL the other DVC resorts in case the 4 nites become available together. Anyone else waiting for October 18th at SSR?? Joan

I am waiting for the 18th at SSR in a 1br. I have the 16 & 17th.. and the 19th to the 22nd. I really wanted a Studio anywhere.. or a 1br at OKW. but I the most I could get was at SSR. I have been at SSR the last 3 trips. That's what I get for waiting till the last minute!

Hi, We have only stayed at SSR once, and that was when they first opened! We had a BEAUTIFUL view of DTD. Do you have a FAVORITE location at SSR ?? Thanks, Joan

As for a Favorite location.. Our first 2 trips to SSR were of views of DTD and I did not like them ( or the resort at all) . THEN we got "lucky" and did not get a DTD view and my "view" of the resort got better too! I really like the Carousel area, near the main entrance. It gives me a more relaxed feeling. I think I will like the Paddock and the newest area too. I just don't like sitting on my balcony and looking at DTD.. I am glad there are different views for different folks.. and it makes it a different vacation each time too! I'll just be surprised ( and happy) with whatever I get.

We're waitlisted at BWV for Oct. 7-12, but for the entire stay only, and it hasn't (nor did I expect it to) come through. It was a long short, but with the F&WF I thought it was worth a shot. We'll be a OKW, which is fine. We love it there!

I've just got to snag post # 100 on this board.

Whew! Got that out of the way. We're excited because we got our DME tags in the mail yesterday. Here's to hoping our night on the waitlist for Oct. 7 comes through soon. We're getting close to the 30 day mark.
