October Wait List Thread

Since our waitlist for Thurs 10/18 came through at SSR, I called to check on availability for Fri 10/19 - nothing available. So, it got me thinking, does this mean that it's going to be extremely crowded that week? I was under the impression that October wasn't an extremely busy time.

Hmmm wonder if ours came through for the 18th as well? Hope you get your other date. When did you go on the waitlist?

We went on the waitlist for 2bdr at SSR on 7/19. Was told there were NO 2bdr anywhere for that date! Came through last week, but now 10/19 is all booked. I'm just getting really worried about how crowded it's going to be.

I have been told DVC is busier when fewer points per night are required plus it is the F&W Festival at Epcot and MNSSHP at MK, we were there 3 years ago and it was much more managable than June!

We are waiting for a studio but may pay cash just for the one night with the DVC discount.

My wait list for October 26th just opened up, went on the list last thursday
(8/9). Studio at OKW.

Still on the waitlist for 26,27,28 of October at BCV. But I'm not expecting that to open up.

Somehow we waited to get ourselves ressies for October. Then we found cheap airfare and thought more about going. Got our name on a waitlist for 10/16-21 anywhere just about 2 weeks ago. Dessert for dinner tonight was a magical call from DVC saying that our waitlist came through! Really didn't expect it so now we have no cheap airfare! In the same call, they were able to confirm another night for DS's stay the following week. He still needs that Blessed Thursday though (10/25). He's got friends to stay with though if he needs to. The Waitlist does work!

Yes it will be crowded but we brave Christmas, NYE, and even the 4th of July so who cares anymore. The year I retire from teaching, I can go in September when it's supposedly "quiet."

This isn't a waitlisting post, but I thought I'd share. I just booked a 1 bedroom at SSR yesterday for 10/19 - 10/24. According to the MS person I spoke with, "there are always a lot of rooms at SSR..."
I tried for the BWV but was not successful (of course not!).

Hi, Today(8/17) I tried to book a studio(any DVC) for 10/18-22, I could get one night at OKW or SSR (on 8/15 I could have gotten 3nites at SSR!) So I booked the one night (10/19) and waitlisted(SSR) for the other 3 nights. I am thinking of calling back and waitlisting for another resort. As I understand it I would have to waitlist for all 4 nights to come through together?? I know F&W is BUSY,but this seems like it will be CRAZY!! Joan

Plans have changed, I have just cancelled a Studio at Beach Club for Oct 4-7th check out. Maybe someone will get their waitlist filled.

3 night reservation. Hope this helps someone on the dis out.

This isn't a waitlisting post, but I thought I'd share. I just booked a 1 bedroom at SSR yesterday for 10/19 - 10/24. According to the MS person I spoke with, "there are always a lot of rooms at SSR..."
I tried for the BWV but was not successful (of course not!).

Well I hate to break it to the MS but SSR is booked solid for my upcoming 10/26-29 trip. Only OKW and VWL have a studio available and both only for one day.

I am instead doing the AP rate at SSR and waitlisting SSR for my Sunday day. In fact the first time I called SSR was booked solid even AP - I had us booked into Pop. THis weekend I was able to snatch up SSR and did a happy dance.

We have a studio at SSR for 10/25 but have WL for AKV studio standard for that night. We are staying one night over after the MC. MNSSHP is that night but we haven't decided if we're going or not.

Our final date of that we wait listed for come through (10/28) for BWV. We were staying 10/27-31 but couldn't get the night of the 28th or 29th. So we wait listed for them. The night of the 29th come through a few weeks ago and I just checked my dvc on line and it looks like the 28th just came through so we finally have our entire trip with no missing dates booked. Very excitted.

We too are still waiting for Oct 25th (SSR studio). Got the whole rest of the week but that one night. What is it with that day?! Praying it comes through because we'd really hate for our friends to have to move on Thursday then check back in on Friday for one night.

I got a waitlisted SSR studio come through for 10/25 on 7/30/07 so people waiting for October may have a chance, I am really waiting for an AK STUDIO for 10/25 and will use the SSR as a backup for that one night. Keeping fingers crossed!

I also heard 10/25 is when the member cruise is coming back so this certainly does not help our situations !!!
