Hello everyone  I need to get on here more often. My DW and I along with our 2 DD's were planning on going to DL in September, but due to a possible schedule change at work and my sister getting married we were thinking of pushing it back to Oct. We were planning on possibly going the first or second week. How are the crowds around that time? Thanks everyone :wave2:

October is tricky, because Utah and Arizona schools often take "fall break" during the first couple of weeks. This year, the Utah Education Association conference is early, Thursday Oct. 1-through the weekend, so all of Utah will descend on Anaheim that weekend. Also, Gay Days is the 2nd-4th, which adds a lot of people. So I'd definitely avoid that first weekend.

Actually, I'd avoid weekends, anyway, because they are always busy, and especially in October. Disneyland has their wonderful Halloween decorations up, and they have Mickey's Trick or Treat party over in California Adventure on the weekends.

You might want to check and see when the big Arizona districts take fall break. I think I've seen a lot of them are going to be the week of the 12th-16th, which is also Columbus Day Monday.

So possibly your best bet would be Mon-Friday, the 6th-10th? You probably will miss fireworks, though, unless you stay to see them on Friday. And in October, the Santa Ana winds are blowing, and they can be canceled because of "winds at higher elevations" sometimes. We were there last year in October, and saw them on Sunday before Columbus Day, but on Columbus Day, they were canceled due to the wind.

Hope that helps.

I was going to post something similar. That first weekend in October will probably be a little crazy. We are going the 6-12.

:) We're planning a trip in October as well and we're avoiding the first two weekends due to the crowds from the events on the first weekend and Columbus Day weekend on the next. We'll arrive on Sun. the 18th and stay throughout the week. I'm hoping that crowds are somewhat low on the weekdays.

October is a really tricky month because I went in 2007 on Gay Days and at one point there was no line what so ever on rides like Haunted Mansion so it's all iffy and changes

We will be there Oct. 4- 11 and from what I read here it will be a perfect time... YES!!!
I will make sure tp watch the fireworks every non-windy night....OOOOOO I can't wait!!!:cool1:

Most of our local AZ school districts are off Oct 12-16, so there will be more people there during that week than on weekdays before or after then. We always run into people we know when we go during an AZ breaktime in spring or fall!
