Are there usually resort discounts in October and if so how much have they been in the past? We're thinking about taking a quick trip for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and I was wondering how the weather is in October. Is the party as great as I've been hearing? Thanks for any info!!

I really don't remember if there were room only discounts this October - maybe someone else could help? - because of the FTP - which was a great deal.

I know the Swan/Dolphin had an Annual Passholder rate of $129/$139 i believe.

MNSSHP is GREAT - you have to do it at least once, especially if you are a big Halloween fan.

The weather is HOT in the beginning of the month and mild in the end. Rarely will you get a truly COLD day in the month of October. A great time of year to go IMO.

I remember they did have AP rates last October but it was very hard to get a room at that rate.

We were there Halloween night last year !

The weather was perfect about 65 at night, 75 during the day ! The crowds were managable until about 9pm on Halloween night, then the wait times for the rides were very long. Trick or treating was pretty fun and the parade was fantastic along with the fireworks.

Hi-
We went this past Oct 31st.
Had an AP rate at the Poly for a garden view room.
We loved the halloween party and are planning to go again this year.
The weather was beautiful!

DH and I tend to go most years in May and October and find October is just ideal. The weather is perfect - usually warm enough for shorts, swimming, fun in the sun but not too hot, and evenings are nice and pleasant. We have gone always with discounts - either AP discounts, or basic code discounts. The discounts are usually best if I'm not mistaken around this time or at least quite good. We have also taken advantage of the great rates at S/D, but I'm not sure if they're guaranteed to be low every October. I have never been to the Halloween party, so can't comment on that, but October is ideal for WDW...somewhat lighter crowds, especially from summer and don't forget the wine and food festival.

Good luck and have a great time!

does anyone know what resorts have the AP or Fl resident rates? Can I book now and wait for a rate and then get it?

Hi-
I don't know which resorts will have the discounts.....usually they aren't out until a few months before.
That's what we did---we booked at an AAA rate and then I applied the code when it came out.

I think when they publish codes either AP or other, they apply to all of the resorts - it is just a matter of availability. It certainly doesn't hurt to book 'un-coded' and apply a code when available. Keep checking mousesavers very frequently especially a few months before your dates and stay on top of it. Good luck!
