October 7, 2006 Western "Latitude Adjustment Cruise"

tross - I'm so sorry! My sister and her family just had to cancel b/c of getting sick. We're not sure if it has to do with her having a cord blood transplant (for her hodgkins) or not. Her immune system still isn't quite up there like a normal adult. To be honest it sucks but we know there's a reason she isn't going and hopefully in Feb. 2007 when they go she'll be much stronger and healthier. I really hope and pray the test results are good!!!!

Calling all UGA and UT fans!!!!!!

The game is at 745pm on Oct. 7th on ESPN. I'm pretty sure it will be on in Divisions that night!!!!! Anyone else want to meet Dh and I to watch it? We promise to keep it all fun.

GO DAWGS!!!!

Wendy just guided me to this forum. We are also on the Oct 7. We are from Houston, Tx. It will be myself, DH, DD(7) and DS(5).

We will join you for the UT game. We are Aggies so we'll probably root for the UGA too!

Tammy -

Good thoughts and a ton of prayers heading your way.
keep your thoughts good

Tamamom - glad you found us. I'm sure BigRed1 will be along shortly to see if you want to be added to the cruise list and to send you the 18th or 19th edition of it. My family became very familiar with your city of Houston. My sister had her cord blood transplant at MD Anderson. She and my mom lived in Houston from Nov. 1, 2005 until March 16, 2006 and I flew back and forth every other week.

And I guess I should have said University of Tennesse not just UT. I was born and raised in GA so the only UT I know of is Tennesse. I forgot people from the southwest/midwest think of UT as University of Texas. Yall can still come join us. The more the merrier.

BigRed1 - will you take my sister's family off the list (Tina, Kenny, Andrew, and Rebecca) when you resend out the list.

Our family would appreciate your prayers. This cruise is a gift to my parents as we intended to celebrate 2 October birthdays and my mom's recent completion of 15 months of chemo for breast cancer which she is battling along with Parkinsons. One of the doctors saw something of concern this week and has scheduled her for a CT Scan on Friday with additional tests on Saturday. We live in different states so I spoke with the MD office today by phone. They said we just won't know if the trip is still an option until after these tests. Mom so needs this trip and has been really looking forward to her first Disney Cruise.

Prayers and pixie dust for you and your family. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

:welcome: Aboard Tamamom!!! I'm sure Wendy gave you a heads up about the list, so here are the details.
We have a "list" going for this cruise. This is totally optional. None of us will think any less of anyone who chooses not to participate in the list. Every time someone joins in or there are any corrections made to the list, I will e-mail everyone on the list a new list. The list contains some or all of the following information:

-DIS-name
-E-mail address
-First names, ages if desired, and Occupation of adults
-Pirate Name (if you like...see link in signature)
-First names and ages of children (so the children will know if there are others their age)
-Dining session
-Stateroom #
-Hometown
-Where you are staying night B4 cruise
-Special occasion to be celebrated during cruise (if any)

If there is any info you don't know yet, you can leave it off, and add it later.
If you would like to be included on the list, pm me or e-mail using the link in my signature and I will add you to the list! I send the list attached as a Word document and I scan it for viruses every time. If you want to participate and require a different format, let me know and I will try to accommodate you.
So jump right in. There isn’t much time left!!

OK a little behind the 8 ball here but here goes... (I know more Q's of course) :teeth:

First Time Cruising on Disney (other ships a long time ago) - very excited. Me, Hubby, and daughter (11) - see lots of other kids - SUPER and then the 'big' kids too - Super SUPER!

All this talk about Pirate Night - When is it and where do we go? Costumes are welcomed I see that - very cool. Now to hit the store.

What are the symbols - DH, DS, DD - please let me in on the secrets. :confused3

I am sure there are plenty of other questions, but that is all for now.

Countdown.... 10 sleeps :woohoo:

Welcome Tamamom,

Despite living in SC, I consider Houston "home" for me. Grew up in the Clear Lake area and later worked and lived in the Medical Center area. I still have many friends there (even some Aggies). Being a Longhorn, I won't tease you about mixing up the UT's...even though you were fully prepared to route against us ! :cheer2: In my younger days I used to feel similarly to you, my favorite team on game day was the Horns or whoever was playing the Aggies. Since I was forced to leave Texas (darn that ball and chain) I'm a bit homesick and tend to route for any Texas team that is playing. The Longhorns are also playing on the 7th vs. Oklahoma. Always a game up for grabs because of the fierce rivalry, regardless of rankings. For those not familiar neither team ever plays this game on their home field, we always have to meet on neutral territory in Dallas. And I know, I know, Tamamom will be routing for the Sooners. :p This game is earlier in the day, but I hope to take a peak after the drill. We are getting very close now...looking forward to meeting everyone, even the Aggies :lmao:

I am new to this as well but DH is dear husband, dear son and dear daughter.
We don't have a costume for pirate night but that would be fun. :Pinkbounc

Vocaleze - pirate night is wednesday night. There is a pirates of the caribbean themed dinner in the dining rooms. Then there's a deck party with capt. hook and pirate mickey etc. It's a lot of fun. It starts around 930pm plus there's a dessert buffet on deck 9. The fireworks are the best too. It's so cool to watch them on deck 9 or 10 (looking over the goofy pool).

And please ask as many question as you want too. I know there are several return cruisers on our cruise. We were all once first timers.

Pirate Night is one more deck party. It used to be Tropical Night. When Pirates of the Caribbean #1 was released, it became Pirate Night. pirate: It begins around 9:30. Captain Hook tries to take over the ship, and swashbuckling Captain Mickey saves the day. Neat show. It ends with fireworks and now I understand they show PoC #1 on the "Dumbotron". There is also a desert buffet afterwards. An all around big deck party. If you have ever been to WDW and seen "the turkey legs", they usually have some of these around at that time as well. There are many people in many different kinds of pirate attire. Lots of fun kids of all ages!!

Tammy - More prayers sent your way. I have been through very serious health problems within my family as well and I know how much prayers and support can help. Keep the faith and think positive (as much as possible). :grouphug:
