Again?! Good Lord, what are those people thinking over there? I at least finally got my stamps through. I jused the face shot of Birth of Venus (thanks for the idea) and another shot of the Three Graces from the work Primavera. They emailed me about the shot of the Three Graces wanting to know, and I kid you not, if they were friends or relatives of mine, if I had permission of the artist to use it and where I got that shot. Now, the first two, obvious answers there, but the last one: I got the image from Zazzel! AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! They finally let it through so maybe I'll get my stamps after all. Keep the faith on the buttons!.

I'm so disappointed and frustrated with this Zazzle business! :headache:

I can't believe they pulled the buttons you created from scratch!!! In any case, I truly admire you for putting up the fight and for making such FABULOUS button designs! I really like them. :worship:

For formal night, I think we would like to go dressier. DH does not own a tux so he will probably just wear one of his nice suits and I will wear a dress/gown. We most likely will not coordinate but we are the type that usually wear black so we really don't clash either! :rotfl:

We don't have pirate costumes but we have one for DD. Now we just have to hope she grows into it and it doesn't fall off!!!pirate:

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who are working so hard on the buttons. I'm sorry you are having so much trouble.

On formal night, DS has a black suit, and I just bought him a tuxedo shirt and bow tie set fairly cheap. I just found myself a long black formal dress, on sale. I'm still working on DH's formal night attire.

Has there been a decision made on a DIS meet time and place yet?

Ann

thank you for the info on formal night. my DM 86 and i 63 were worried we wouldn't have the right clothes, and didn't want to go get something we wouldn't wear again. :lmao: :lmao: now i feel better.  i printed it off for her. country bumpkins, don't know how to travel with the big timers, u know. but don't want to be stared at.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: and of course, everyone wants to be comfortable. got to get shopping for DM so she feels good about going. :thumbsup2 am busy helping with bibleschool this week, maybe next week.  haven't posted for a while, lots of things going on. DGD 8 - 9 birthday was main event this week. can't remember that time in my life. sooo long gone. :rolleyes1 keep coaching us, we need input. thanks for the heads up. oct 6th, here we come :cheer2: :cheer2:

I was thinking about giving the button designing a try ... but seems like it's a big mess with using any type of design on the buttons. Maybe I will give it a shot if I can come up with anything that doesn't use a "Disney" design.

They sent me another email after I sent them a request for more info and only gave me a canned reply..<sigh> I guess they may have been slammed before with a copyright lawsuit and now err on the side of safety. I guess I can't entirely blame them because those lawsuits can cost millions.

I am just not sure if I will be able to get a mickey ears background built into the button but I am going to keep trying... 'You don't think it's the word 'Disney' do you??? I do have that.

I will try again- and test Zazzle out- I will make one button with the word disney but no mickey ears, one with mickey ears but no disney, and one with neither.. Let's see what happens!!!

This time let's see if they cut my designs... everything on there is mine!! Mine, I tell you!!!

I have also fixed the link in my signature to go back to my Zazzle stuff... I'll let you know in 24 hours if they found anything to cut...

Also, see if you can find my 'hidden' Mickey on one of the buttons!! Ha Ha!! :rotfl: :lmao: :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

All of your button designs are cool. :cool1: Hopefully they won't get axed again by Zazzle. By the way I found your hidden Mickey.;)

rdy2bpamperedmom - no sweat about the country bumpkins. I may have been raised in the big city (Dallas) but mom and aunt that joined us on our last cruise grew up in Arkansas - and in the 20s and 30s that whole STATE was country. My MIL will probably wear either a suit or a nice pantsuit for formal night - again nice church clothes. Since I've never in my life seen that lady when she didn't look nice, I don't care what she wears. She wouldn't know how to look sloppy and she's such a dear lovely person that I can't even tell mother in law jokes - they DON'T apply. DD bought two gowns for our Alaska cruise last year but she'd lost 20 lbs and wanted to show off. Besides, we hit the sales and she found one for $25 and the other for $17.50! If you find something great on sale, wonderful. If not just wear what you have.

Please add on my inlaws Arty and Pat in Room 6634 Ages 80 and late 70's

Cannot believe we are 14 people now!

:grouphug: i really like the idea of this forum, and the pins being the same for our group, it's almost like knowing u all before we meet on the cruise.:dance3: all the hints and stuff we talk about only makes the trip that much more fun and like friends across the country. :yay: :yay: DD's family all received their passports. DM (DGM) and i have yet to see them, but things are falling into line. :cheer2: won't be long till time to shove off into the wild blue yonder and paddle our way across the ocean.

I just had to post and say.... Tomorrow night at 2 am I get to book my excruisons!

This was 480 days in the making people!!! I am going to pass out! :dance3:

Have fun booking. I have to wait till July 8 to book Palo. I think we decided to wait till we get on the ship to book excursions. The stuff we usually like isn't the "in demand" stuff. We're waiting to see how everyone feels closer to the cruise. I'm sure you'll get exactly what you want booking this early.

I've been having fun shopping for wedding stuff with DD. We weren't able to find the exact dress she wanted for either the civil ceremony in July or the Wedding next spring so I've got my sewing machine out and am making the dresses. DD is a little challenging to fit so today I've been making bodices out of cheap material to get the fit right before I start on the "real" fabric. Time consuming but I enjoy sewing and would rather have her dress look right than spend a fortune and have some one else mess up the alterations which I've seen happen to others.

:thumbsup good for u, i love to sew things too, haven't gotten into it much yet, since i retired at christmas, but i have good intentions. saves lots of money, even tho some fabrics are expensive, and u can get what u want, or change something to fit better. :dance3: it will be something from u and even mean much more than the usual cherished wedding gown. keep up the good work. my DGD 9 loves wearing clothes i made for my DD when she was little. :) she has me digging around all the time, in my storage room. helps me get thru things and clean out all my collected treasures. :rotfl: (junk) when u sew for family, love goes in each stitch.

Hi All!

Well we have just returned from our cruise to Alaska. It was absolutely beautiful country with the cleanest air I have ever breathed. It was also wonderfully cold (I say that because we returned to 113 degrees!) and we were actually needing full winter jackets at times. I have to say though, that I was not only unimpressed with Princess, but severly disappointed in every aspect. Most of the crew was rude and unhelpful, the food was AWFUL and at times inedible, and the lack of communication was unacceptable. I always knew that DCL was great but never fully appreciated how great. DCL blows Princess away in every area as far as I am concerned. I realize now that DCL hires the "creme de la creme" as their staff and all the other lines pick what is left over. Our first full day out we had terrible weather-gale force winds and huge swells-which is highly unusual for the Alaska Itinerary. The crew said they had NEVER had such bad seas in their history before. The ship DR. was inundated (sp?) with sick passengers with motion sickness-over 1800 people were vomiting out of a total of 3100 passengers! Now while I do not hold Princess responsible for the weather, I do hold them responsible for their lack of help and communication. They charged people for meds ($10 for dramamine!) and then ran out as they had only enough for a couple hundred people! They charged people to see the ship DR ($90) and there was NEVER an announcment made about the situation or what to do for yourself to feel better. DCL always communicates and helps when needed. We had a very similar situation on the Wonder and the captain came on the loudspeaker during dinner and advised passengers what to do and told everyone that guest service was handing out bracelets and meds. Good, caring customer service, what a concept! This whole experience has just confirmed to me that DCL is THE best in the industry and all others should take some lessons from them. Man, I should do a commercial....lol

:cool1: :dance3: :woohoo:  :woohoo:

I have finally survived 24 hours with Zazzle leaving my buttons on the web!

the only thing I changed from the last set was the font. I did use a Disney font. So if I modify some of the other designs I will be able to use them too!

If they had just told me that up front.....

OK, so with everyone talking about all this shopping I feel left out! I just can't seem to get into a spending mood. DH has bought more stuff than I have! Did get DD a swimsuit but.. that's about it, besides some birthday clothes for DD. I haven't bought hardly anything for me. I hate clothes shopping in the best of times! Guess I should get in gear..

Rellyrooly..DCL is THE best in the industry
A friend of mine at work recently returned from a trip to Jamaica and some fellow flight passengers were returning from a DCL cruise. They told her all about DCL's exemplary service and how other cruise lines don't even come close. They also said that DCL was the best vacation to take.. hands down! Now my friend is thinking about a DCL cruise in the future.. I told her there was still room on our cruise if she wanted to join!! :rotfl: :lmao: :thumbsup2 She has asked me about our plans many times and to hear the positive experiences from those that have just returned .. just makes me want to speed up the time so we can go too!!

Laurabearz...I just had to post and say.... Tomorrow night at 2 am I get to book my excruisons!

No matter how bad I want to say 'NOT FAIR!' I just can't. You have waited so much longer than I have and you deserve it! So book away!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: finally got my passport. now i'm legal (was going anyway) now all that's left is passport for DM 86. went shopping with her today, got some neat things. she is having a ball finding what she wants. really getting into this trip. was a nice mom day, she is so good to be with. still a little worried she will spoil it for the rest of us. i'm so glad more older people are going at the same time. anyway, we will all have a total time of our lives, i just know it. looking forward to meeting you all.:yay: :yay:

You took the words right out of my mouth. That's my MIL exactly. Wonderful person and more concerned about "spoiling" the trip or "being a bother". I keep telling her that if we didn't want her there, we wouldn't have asked her.

DD and I went shopping today for ME. Found several things to fill holes in my wardrobe created by losing 15 lbs -(yipee!!!). DD and I had "What Not to Wear in Mom's closet" and she found several things that "have absolutely NO shape mom" or "just hang on you" so they went in the Goodwill sack. Fortunately Kohl's here was having a great sale so I got some new clothes.

Came home tonight and spent some more time sewing. Fortunately I'm on vacation this week. Monday morning is going to be a total shock to my system when I have to go back to work!

Exactly what I thought last year on Holland. Some of it was obvious and many things I noticed were the little things that set DCL apart. The Holland crew were courteous enough but I missed the intentional extras that I see with DCL.
