**@@** October 6th, 2007 Magic**@@**

sorry i miss understood, got my wires crossed. am still thinking of u and your family. :goodvibes we're getting ready for the big event in our town. festival yearly, probably never heard of poultry days. chickens all over.  only 3 days, fri sat sun but lots of bands, crafts and etc. of course rides for all ages. i live only 1 block away from where it's set up, so i get noise and lots of people too.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 fireworks on sun at 10 pm. waiting for more fun on the cruise. and trying to get organized.:rotfl: :rotfl: :grouphug:

:cool1: :cool1:
Boy, was that a hard shopping trip...<phew!> am I glad that's over! :rotfl:

Boy, now that we have luggage we gotta go shopping to fill them up!! Need more stuff!! :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :scared1:

Somebody hide this post so DH doesn't see it! Don't need him knowing about the shopping trips!! Hey, wait a minute... he's the one that bought 6 extra pieces of luggage for us!! Shop Away I Say!!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
OK - I got yelled at from two people yesterday about my post above...<sigh> .. can no one take a joke!! DM and DH yelled (about different subjects)
DM- wanted to know what was so hard about shopping with her... NOTHING MOTHER!!
DH - wanted to take away my credit cards!!! SHEESH!!

:scared1: I guess I won't be able to post on here cuz too many people know me!!! :confused3 :surfweb: :surfweb: but I live on here!!! :guilty:

On the good side: I still have my credit cards and DM is still talking to me!!! :hippie: :lmao: :rotfl:  Hey MA, wanna go shopping??? :3dglasses

Just saw this little tidbit and added it to the second post...

As far as orientation on the ship -- the carpeting is NOT reliable (while many times the red anchor faces aft, it is not always). Easiest way for me to remember is that lower numbers are forward -- so if the numbers are going up you are going aft. Also odd numbers are inside; even numbers outside.

Finally, the second digit (the "hundreds") -- a "0" or "1" is port side; "5" or "6" is starboard side.

I thought it could be helpful.

Time is ticking away. I need to figure out formal night. I had originally wanted to do Tux's, but DH has a suit and I found a lovely outfit that would go nicely with it, so we may do that instead. (The outfit is linked in my artfair thread I posted about a few posts back lol) So many choices for outfits!!! ugh Maybe I should start a list lol

I knew about the deck number part but not the rest and DD is a CM (which actually doesn't make me an authority on anything). Of course, the only time she's in guest corridors is when she's cruising AS a guest so guess either she hadn't made the room numbering connections herself or didn't think I needed to know or just didn't think it was important.

Hi there! Long time no chat!! We've been SO busy with the end of school stuff and I have no idea where the time has gone!! For those of you taking your older relatives on the cruise......we just returned from a quick family cruise to Ensenada for my DSIL's 40th birthday. We took my DH's 80 year old grandma along and she had a total BLAST! It was a life long dream of hers to go on a cruise and it was wonderful to see that dream come true!! I'm still trying to get my 'land legs' back......Seems my internal 'boat' never wants to dock and I feel like I'm still on a ship. Yucky!! Hope you are all having a great summer so far and we're officially counting down the days at our house!!
Rebecca

"Shirley" (Still feels too weird not to refer to you by your teacher name :-)
Will you send me the info about that Sunshine rewards thing? It sounds really neat! You always know about all the cool stuff!! Hope your summer is going well and your house stuff is good too!

You are so welcome! The only things that were different for us was that we had to wait a long time for elevators (even if we were only going up or down 1 flight) and we didn't do any of the heavy duty excursions because the walking was just too tough for her. Sometimes grandma went back to her room earlier and we continued on to evening entertainment without her, but we all had a really great time!!
HTH,
Rebecca:)

  mom is a little unsteady on her feet so we will be using a wheelchair, because she can't walk for very long at a time. no problem if the elevators are busy or slow, anything is better than nothing. we are a very determined bunch. thanks again for the input.:dance3: :dance3: :grouphug: :goodvibes

but the guy at the Post Office told her to expect it in mid SEPTEMBER. That's cutting it a little close for me but you gotta do what you gotta do and she has copies of the docs so I think we can cruise without it.

We aren't sure if we will be bringing our own wheelchair or renting one but we plan to have one available. DMIL uses a walker but the distances are more that she's used to. Also, if we hit any kind of rough seas I want her SITTING. I fully understand the "unsteady on her feet". But she'll have a fantastic time anyway.

DD gets home Sunday and I'll be on vacation for a week so we have the whole week to shop - wedding planning. :bride: I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't seen her since she got engaged, only talked to her on the phone, so I'm looking forward to some "Mom and Robyn" time.

Have a great week all.

:dance3: :dance3: we applied for passports on mar 17, haven't seen them yet. i read in the paper they are really swamped. now they have to have them to go almost anywhere. boy, the government just doesn't prepare for the influx. just like the new smoking laws, not prepared at all. oh, well we can always copy our papers too. whatever it takes, we'll be there. looking forward to the cruise too much to let that stop us.  i don;t even like to shop, but i keep looking for things i (might) like to have. gosh what an adventure. :woohoo: :woohoo: so much to do yet before we go. buttons are looking good. it will be hard to pick just one.:rolleyes1

We finally got our passports over the weekend. DD (17 months) looks too funny! We applied for ours the first week of April so I guess we got it in their timeline. I have other friends that did not order with enough time ahead and they trusted they would get them in 10-12 weeks. They ended up having to call state representatives and such to get them in time for their trips abroad (mostly to Europe). Luckily, we really don't need ours for the cruise in October. I just wanted to have them for those "in case of emergency" situations.

I can't believe we are less than four months out! I am getting so excited!!! I got DD a new swimsuit now, too...found it at the outlet mall. It is a one-piece, red and white strips, with a sailor Mickey on the front. There is also a mesh skirt cover-up that is red with an anchor on the front left. So cute! It is fun finding her little things for the cruise!

we applied May 15 or 18th (20 weeks out) so I am not worried here.

Seems like a lot of us will be a Chank Park in Cozumel! Fun fun!

I need to start working on my door signs! alas... I just got a new computer and it's my old computer that has all my clip art on it. lol Everyone should have my problems!

Now why I am thinking about door signs when I still have our huge summer road trip to plan is beyond me. Maybe I should reevaluate my priorities! :lmao:

Naw... I am just going to jump in the pool with the kids and worry about it all later!!!

WOOT SUMMER, NO SCHOOL, AND THE POOL IS OPEN! YAYAYAY!!

Ye- our checks were cashed on 4/16 and we still haven't seen the passports. I keep checking online and they just say processing. I am hoping we have them before July... but who knows! Took them a 4 weeks to get it to the processing stage then it's another 12 at least until you can expect them. So that makes us July 9th for our 12 week mark. So until then we wait patiently... or not so patiently! :rotfl2: :lmao:

I jumped in the pool at our campground (we are seasonal campers) and 'bout froze my patootie off!!!! :scared1: :yay: Let me tell you I was hip hoppin' in the water and ready to get out! but DD8 wouldn't let me so I stayed in and suffered... <sigh> what we parents won't do for our kids!!
I'm still trying to thaw my patootie out!!!

Really makes me look forward to the ..warm... sunny beaches..warm sunny water... OOOh boy ! :beach:

OK I just spent all this time working on my first Zazzle button. Of course, now I just got an email notification that they are removing it from their site because there is a Disney image that would be copyright protected. I got it off a free clipart site. What kinds of graphics are you all using on your buttons? How can I get around this???:confused3

Okay that is a total bummer! I wish I had an idea for ya, but I just don't know enough about it.

I was wondering if one of you talented people could help me out on my door sign. I have the art; I just need someone to change some of the letters around. I don't have a program that will let me do that. Any takers? PPPLLLLEEEAAASSSEEE!

On the up side, I just found two sundresses on the clearance rack and got them both for $25 apiece, were $80! Bonus, they have a built in bra. What's not to love about that? :rotfl: I figure they'll be great for dinner on non fancy-dancy nights with a light sweater.

I have sort of started thinking about what we will be wearing for the cruise. I need to buy it all soon, because here in chicago mid august they start putting out the fall clothes and winter coats :lmao:

I am so lame. I coordinate each nights dinner clothes for my family. We dont wear 'matching' outfits more like the same tones and values. Like all pastels, all Red white and blue, All hawiian... etc. Sad but true. BUT I have found it makes it easy to pack. Each dinner's outfits packed together. And the best part is... I find MY outfit first, then match up the rest of the family :rolleyes1 - sigh - I really love packing for cruises.

Now if i just loved plotting out road trips. Chicago-Hilton Head 18 hours if we are lucky, over the hills and through the woods for miles and miles :dance3:

And RATS on the Copywriting thing.... So far my buttons have just been silly sayings.... no pictures. I will poke around about the copywriting thing, but we may be stuck abiding by that pesky detail. Or........ I could look into a button making machine :lmao: (off to google that now lol)

And I can try and help with the door sign, just send me the artwork :-)

edited to add... looks like a button making machine runs around 100 bucks with enough for 100 buttons..... So I suppose that is an option... :lmao: Let's see what we can all come up with that Doesn't use any Characters on it, and if they are all terrible, I will get the button making machine and just print out the winning design. :-)
