Hi, I thought I'd post our Palo reservations since I missed last night chats :(.... the ride home from Baltimore took alittle longer than we thought.
Palo Bruch: Thursday at 11:00 am
Palo Dinner: Tuesday at 6:00 for half our group and 6:30 for the other half. We are hoping to fix it once on board so we all can eat together.
Dumb question after the fact.... Pirate night is on Wednesday, right? The most recent Navigator list it on Tuesday. I don't want to miss the Pirate's dinner. Talk to everyone soon

I think it is Tuesday on the Western.

***Update****
Ok - I still do not know a "final" answer, but searching around, it does look like it is normally Wednesday. Not sure why that cruise had it on Tuesday.

Sorry I am doing so many posts. I am just so excited to have computer access again. :thumbsup2

Anyway - I had to call DCL today because I am having issues with one of my excursions I booked Sunday (different story). Anyway, the CM I talked to said that we should be receiving letters soon about the halloween festivities taking place on the cruise. I said that I was wondering if it would be a different night because of the sail away and he said it would be on the 31st. Look for something in the mail soon!

Kelly, can you book those on board then convert to DVC points? Or can you even book on your points while on board or just the old fashion cash way? I'm not sure there's any reason to book with points on board unless you get an early booking window. What's the deal?

Kevin - Where you been?

You don't get the discounted price with points I dont believe (unfortunately) but you do get the onboard credit I believe. After doing the math we will probably rent out points and use that money towards future cruises, more cost efficient. This year being the first year as DVC members I didn't know that but I will research this more and find out.

We will be booking a West Coast in 2011 I think, just depends on what they offer up.

We will also be booking on one of the new ships, even if it is a dummy date just to get the rebooking discount.

A few things/Questions

A - Only 1 month left. No arguments please. It is how I want to see it. I don't count August since we are in this month. I don't count October since we leave then. So the only month to count is September. It is sort of like today is Thursday and you have plans for Saturday and you say "Only 1 day left".

B - For us new cruisers, we are allowed to book things 75 days out right? When exactly is that? Midnight on what day? Will we still be able to get Palo brunch and spa reservations?

C - At the 75 day mark, when we get reservations (hopefully), Does everyone book the spa and the brunch for days at sea? That is what we would want. Which days are that? I assume those are harder to get.

D - if we want ress for days at sea, do we HAVE to try at midnight? You all got luck with a weekend so midnight was not a big deal, but I think ours is mid week. If I wait until the morning (we get up at 5:30am) would I be out of luck? Do you think there are that many first time cruisers that are informed enough to get reservations at midnight?

E - We are in joining rooms with my parents (link reservations). If we wanted Palo together, can that be done with one palo res?

F - do I need some sort of login to the web site that I need to setup first so as not to waste time the day I try to make things?

A - ROTFL!!! Your logic is quite amusing ... but I'll take it. :)

B - I can't help you on that one. I was concierge for my first cruise and that breaks all the rules.

C - I don't know that either. :( Sorry.

D - I would think that would be a 'yes.'

E - Not sure, but I would think so.

F - YES. Make sure you get that all set up before you go on at day 75.

Last night was horrible. Internet service was down from 4:30 pm until ???? I was so mad that I could not get on the chat last night. I was in the middle of planning a trip to Disneyland and got locked out. UGH. :headache: I thought I was going to cry at 8:00 knowing you all were chatting and I was missing. :sad1:

Enough about that. Alexa has gymnastics until 8:00 - so we will be online around 8:30 for kids chat.

Yikes!!! That would drive me NUTS!!! Glad you have it all back. We certainly missed you last night.

See ya then!

I think it is Tuesday on the Western.

We had it on Wednesday for ours, I think.

You need to learn to use the multi-quote button..... LOL!!

Really??? I will need to check on that with my concierge, huh?

Hello everyone,

Since this is the first time we are participating in fish extenders, can anyone tell me how the fish extenders work? Do you buy goodies for everyone who is participating or is the list going to be divided up into groups? I would like to start buying things but would like to know how much to buy. Thanks for the help!

FYI - Just talked to Concierge.

1 - Pirate night is *scheduled* for Wednesday for us. That *is* subject to change.

2 - The letter about Halloween activities is going out with our cruise documents, so we won't get it until we get those. Those are sent within 30 days of our cruise date.

Jennifer -

FE work how you wish them to work. Yuo should plan on having something for each cabin participating. Now when I say something, that can be something for each person in the cabin or it can be a combination of both or you can just have one gift for the entire cabin. You can buy just for the kids in family cabins and something separate for the adults only cabins. Again up to you. You can have things for a one time delivery or you can deliver multiple days, again up to you.

We will have a total number of cabins and participants by September 15th as we are cutting the list of then, unless it is decided to extend the date. You can certainly start preparing now, I have as well as others.

Sometime after September 15th we will split the list up so that gifts are delivered everyday that we are on the ship except for Saturday and Friday. We don't want to have a day when there are no deliveries and disappoint the kids. I will also have printable version of the participants list up on the website a few days before we sail and I wil bring copies with us.

Hope that answers your questions

Thanks for clarifying these two points shell. I know in the past when i did the Western it was on wednesday night. I know on the navigators that were posted on the site from june it showed pirates night as tuesday but that cruise did not seem top coincide with our iteinerary. That cruise seemed to have Grand Cayman and Cozumel ports flipflopped in sequence. (Maybe weather issue?)

How do I multi-quote?????

Right next to the "quote" button on each post is another button (in between the 'quote' and the 'quick reply'). For each post that you want to quote, click that. It will change to red. Then, after you've clicked all the ones you want to quote, click 'post reply'. Each one will be quoted in your reply, and you can respond to each under the appropriate post.

Clear as mud??

Ours, last year, changed Pirate night so that the crew could spend more time in port at Cozumel. So, I know that it is possible for it all to change on the spur of the moment.

Shell:

The girls wanted to say sorry for drop out of the kids chat last night. We had a short power blackout and that numerous brown outs. The power company must have gone into rolling power reductions for the first time this summer.

If the girls missed anything important could you PM me the information.

Steve

We wondered where they went, Steve!! I kind of figured it was a power issue since they both dropped at the same time. Glad everything is ok. We missed them, though. :)

Nothing important. The adults kind of took over after the girls left. LOL!

I never knew how to do that LOL

And ... now you know. :) :surfweb:
